Well Steve since my main computer died yesterday morning this back up computer has no main board drives ergo, no sound and three other challenges; so I cannot watch your video on the review or I am just plain too stupid to find you review!?

As far as substance; I might want to sleep on that thought...

Oh, Steve. You are such a jerk. When are you going to realize that your New York liberalism is just so out of step with the rest of the world? You intellectualize everything so much you simply suck the fun out of things. The 300 is a cartoon. It isn't history. It isn't a polemic on war (now or then). It is art. It is a rush. It is a visual and emotional thrill ride. In the future, if you don't like a movie, stick your head back into your ass and take a nap until it is over. Don't share your misery with the rest of us.

Steve,

Were you actually awake during the movie?? LOL. This was one of the best movies made. Maybe if Clint Eastwood was in it you would have like it a bit more huh?

Steve, I agree with you 100% except I think you are being nice. The look of the movie was spectacular the story was painfully slow and awkward. Now I am the one being nice.

Dear Steve,

How you can give Gerard Butler such a great MYFOX L.A. interview, then produce a warm somewhat negative review of his movie "300?"

I liked your transvestite reference: "More Bling than Tyrolean."

Takes a special talent

Steve i agree the movie was way over the top, very bloody, and yes, people were always half naked. HOWEVER, that's what made this movie so great, i think it was supposd to be extreme and they just went for it.

i think every girl should go watch this movie! it is so not just a guy movie!!!!!

Dear Steve,

I agree with you, the movie lacked substance big time. This is totally a chick movie, the eye candy provided for us forgives all wrongs with this film!!! Gosh too bad we don't make men like that anymore. All is forgiven in my book. =)

Hi...some quick responses:
Beep...In fact I loved Gerard Butlers' visit on the show and I liked him in the movie.
The rest:
I knew that his was a movie that so many people were crazy about and it's not that I didn't get it was a cartoon and a rush that was thrilling for a lot of you.....I appreciated every aspect of the filmmaking just all out together it didn't work for me.

Walter.. thanks for the nice words and directions

By the way....the word substance isn't one I used..that was a headline not written by me. That the history was off wasn't an issue for me...it is a movie and that's fine.

By the way...were you having a problem with review breaking up at times as you watched it?

And
Question from yesterday:
we seem to cover every time a celebtrity scratches or belches...do you love that stuff or is it overkill and has our celebrity obsession become that.....a bad obsession

More later
.

I'm four feet off the ground.

This is going to be great!

Thanks for everything,

Hey, Walter nobody cares with what you have to say so stop spreading your misery with the rest of us and get over it. Thats what a movie review is all about, to say if why you did or didn't like it.

wow, I thought fer sure you were going to enjoy this movie. I have not seen it, but my husband took our daughters (12/14). They soo loved it. They loved the action, the plot and of course..the abs. But they were so excited when they came home. "It was the Best". But they did tell me I wouldn't enjoy (except the abs) because of the bloodshed. My kids aren't into the gorey slaughter movies..thank goodness. But they do like a good action packed, sword slinging, head flying movie. I may get my oldest Alexadria,14, to comment you. She could review this and let you know what she liked about it.
I love your honesty.
Have a good weekend.
Love yas,
Chelle

Dear Steve,

I'm down to earth now...

Re: Celebrity obsession

I think that it has something to do with appearance and vanity, which is the same reason people are attracted to tabloid magazines.

In fact, Society's obsession with personal appearance can divert attention, especially among young people, from pursuing accomplishments that actually would mean something worthwhile to individuals and society.

What do you think?

I agree that it is an obsession... I also admit that it is what wakes me up in the morning... kind of like verbal cafe late ... Perhaps, though, cutting down would be good. Maybe you can make a patch... with Jillian's face on it... and that can get us celebrity junkies to cut the habbit a bit... just a thought. :)

Steve,

What do you think of "Grindhouse" ? Think teh Tarantino/Rodriguez collaboration works well? Did you see the original?

Steve, I think you need to read the Dorsey_band blog. I saw it on the ask Jillian question page and their story is extremely saddening.

I agree with you about 300 and I am a die hard Gerard Butler Tart. I just wish he would make more movies with story less "Jazz." I'm a historian and it does bug me when movies play with the facts. Really bothers me.

Second, yes too celeb obsessed . . .only because it is always about the same people. There are other people out there besides the same four or five people. How about hearing about people other than Idol, Angelina, Britney, etc. Yuck already! How about some real news now and then?

Just my two cents.

Love all you folks, you have been my wake up show for years! I must be nuts!

Steve has been the host of GoodDay LA for 13 years and counting. While it seems that he's been on LA tv for 60 years, it's really been since 1978. Steve's been the host of too many shows to mention but a few are: Am Los Angeles, Two on the Town, Live in La,: he has a closetfull of emmys, a star on Hollywood Blvd and looks forward (most mornings) to his time with Jillian and Dorothy, and yes, he reads a lot of the stuff you write!
