Nearly a dozen wildfires driven by powerful Santa Ana winds spread across Southern California Sunday and Monday destroying several structures. Are or were you affected? Tell us your story and we may feature it on Good Day LA. Be sure to include your first name and location.

Waiting for update on Lake Arrowhead fire(s) and evacuations. No news stations are reporting. Evacuations are being sent down the dirt Hwy 173 down the backside of the mountain. PLEASE get us some information ASAP.

if you want updates on the fires in the arrowhead and running springs area go to www.rimoftheworld.net they have better news coverage than these places. homes are buring in the lake arrowhead area and all roads up the mountain are closed even to residents now.

Its weird I live in Ontario and not even a leaf is blowing. But down south by the fire it looks like a war zone. There are trees blown over and smoke everywhere, and the wind is really strong.Right now we are surrounded by smoke. There must be a fire in fontana because it is really smoky out that way also.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW INFORMATION ABOUT THE CASTAIC AND CANYON COUNTRY FIRES. I AM TIRED OF ALWAYS WATCHING MALIBU BURN. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHERE THE FIRE IS AND WHERE IT IS GOING OUT HERE AND WHO IS BEING EVACUATED. I REALIZE THAT MALIBU IS ALL THE RICH AND FAMOUS BUT I DON'T LIVE THERE. EVERY NEWS CHANNEL IS DOING MORE COVERAGE IN MALIBU AND JUST GIVING US TIDBITS ABOUT EVERYWHERE ELSE. I AM GETTING REALLY FRUSTRATED. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO, BECOME RICH OUT HERE JUST TO GET ANY COVERAGE.

Simple Fire Solution: With the danger of fires in Sothern California every time we have a dry season (frequent) why do we not have a long term solution to prevent these catastrophes? It is not that difficult. We could simply build a pipeline from the ocean to the fire endangered areas and a sprinkler system (sprinklers twice the height of telephone poles) that could be used to moisten the brush as well as assist in putting out fires. Putting these sprinklers about 2,000 to 4,000 feet apart throughout the Sothern California hills would be a lot cheaper and a lot safer then the cost of equipment, man power and more importantly the risk of loss of life. Let’s solve the problem instead of reacting to it.

Any news on the immediate or potential danger to the San Diego Wild Animal Park? There are several nearly extinct and rare species of animals that call the park their home and I'm curious as to the possibility of evacuating those animals if the danger becomes more imminent.

Will the City of Beverly Hills ban wildfire smoke from thier town? Think of all the second-hand smoke they are inhaling. It would take a billion smokers a million years to outout the amount of smoke that we have seen in the last 24 hours. Enjoy!

I must have the worst luck. I teach at 3 different colleges in Southern California:

- College of the Canyons: They've canceled classes for today and tomorrow at the Canyon Country Campus due to the Buckweed fire.

- Saddleback College: They've canceled classes after 2pm today due to smoke and ash from the Santiago fire.

- Barstow College: Barstow's fine, but I have to cancel my class tonight because the fire in Devore has closed the 15 Fwy and cut me off from campus.

At this rate, the only class I'll make it to is my San Francisco class on Friday!

In the midwest they go to storm cellars.
Start building fire proof fire cellars on your property (Not under your house). Clear the brush and shelter in place.
The fire burns over and you and your family emerge from your underground shelter just like the critters of So. California have done for thousands of years. Saves you from burning up in your car on some narrow canyon in a traffic jam.

I have a friend in San Marcos, can anyone tell me how close the fire is to there and if they are being evacuated? Thanks

CORRECTION: Irvine Valley College is closed due to smoke and ash, not Saddleback College.

And UPDATE: Saddleback College now has canceled classes after 3pm today. Yikes.
