I'm keeping it short and sweet this week. It has been one week since I revealed to you I have Parkinson's Disease. For nearly 15 years you  have welcomed me into your homes each morning. However I never would have known how much you think of all the Fox-13 familiy. I just want to say thanks. Your outpouring of support makes me feel warm with your caring and love.

Thanks for being the best viewers anywhere.

I am also a 54 yr old professional diagnosed with PD 3 yrs ago. I also intend to work until I retire (hopefully in 11 years). Exercise is the big unknown in the progression of the disease-it may be neuroprotective. Keep on moving! Also if you do not have one go to a PD specialist and not just a neurologist. PD specialists have a much better handle on how to manage the "gift" of PD.

I'm sorry to hear of your PD. I am not sure if it will help you or not, but Chaga has been shown to improve electrical pulses within the body. An accupuncturist did some testing on a patient before and after ingesting chaga, and after about 10 minutes the patient's accupuncture sites "lit up" indicating natural electrical flow in the body was no longer inhibited! Learn more. Go to www.MyChaga.com/susan and read all about the product and research. God bless. I know it's not an easy disease to live with. My father in law had it for several years.

Tom
For years my wife and I have been waking up every morning and having coffee and getting ready for work while watching "Good Day." Like Bill Murphy you are an icon on FOX 13 in the morning. A while back I noticed your slight hand tremors on a wide camera shot. I would ask you to please not be intimidated or embarrassed by PD. Your fans will support you no matter what. Keep up the good work you are an excellent news anchor!

my dad is 58 and was diagnosed at 50 and was doing really bad but with a few changes like quiting smoking, drinking, and a healthy diet he is doing much better know and the doctors have acknowledge that and are impressed with the changes, its like every illness you need to make some sacrifices in order to feel better, just take one day at a time, a great support community, like these posts here and your coworkers, helps a LOT!! we just dont want to stop seeing you on tv!!
Good Luck to you!!

Thanks for your honesty about your health. I am glad you are continuing with your morning shift and especially with the Monday Morning Power Breakfasts about local Tampa businesses. Your Baritone voice just adds a touch of professionalism to these remote broadcasts. Thanks for the effort. May God continue to bless your efforts.

Tom - Thank you so much for sharing the fact that you have PD on the air. It reached many people who need encouragement. I have had PD for approximately 5 years. I've tried to hide it and only confided in those closest to me. I have not joined a support group for Parkinsons, but I have participated in the walk they had in St. Petersburg last year to support Parkinsons Disease Research. I am interested in joining a PD group in Tampa. I try to stay active instead of letting it get to me. Take care, and keep the faith.

my husband is 45 years old and has had parkinsons since a teenager.we have been married 22 years (tomorrow 2/14) i wouldnt know what to do if he wasnt in my life but this is a very hard diease to live with for the patient and also the family!! my husband had a stimulator implanted about 5 years ago which has made a world of difference with some of the symptoms but there are always new ones starting all the time. i think the thing that has helped my husband the most is he is still working and keeping busy..its a struggle everyday but this is better than him just sitting around. our prayers are with you and your family.

I'M THE HOCKEY NUT AT FOX 13. ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME, KNOWS HOW MUCH I LOVE THE SPORT. I'VE PLAYED IT, COACHED IT AND NOW I EVEN REF IT. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RE FROM TORONTO CANADA. MY FAMILY MOVED FROM CANADA TO CALIFORNIA WAY BACK IN 1964. THE GOLDEN STATE IS WHERE MY BROADCASTING CAREER BEGAN AT STATIONS IN SAN JOSE AND SACRAMENTO BUT IN 1994 I MADE THE BEST MOVE OF MY CAREER BY MOVING TO FOX 13 IN TAMPA. NOW 13 YEARS LATER I'M STILL ENJOYING BOTH THE STATION AND THE AREA. I'VE TRADED THE GOLDEN STATE FOR THE SUNSHINE STATE, AND WHAT A TRADE ITS BEEN. BY THE WAY, GO LIGHTNING!
