I thought I would blog about one of my favorite subjects this time. Like many of you, I love cars. If I had enough money I would have several in a garage with a capacity of 10-15 cars or trucks. In the real world however I own just one car with 150-thousand miles on it. I've had overthing from a big s.u.v. to a tiny sportscar. So now I think I've setttled for something in between. I'm almost officialy in the market for what they are calling crossovers. I've read my Consumer Reports and am narrowing down the field. That's where you come in. If you own a crossover, tell me how it's working for you either good or bad. I look forward to you input.

I humbly suggest you buy a cross over if you really need the seating or cargo capacity. If not, get a car as they typically are beter with gas.

If you do get a cross over, consider the Mitsubishis as you get Toyota and Honda quality for thousands less.

I have owned a Ford Escape since 2003 and I think it's one of the best vehicles I have ever owned! I'm always proud to buy American even if half the parts come from outside our shores. If I were in the market for a replacement ride, I would really look at the new Ford Edge. If it's not on your short list, it should be.

All these alternative fuel cars are a waist of time! They need to pour development money into hydrogen fuelcell powered cars. We are almost ready to mass produce the cars. We just need the push with government backing to make it a reality. We need to build the delivery of the fuels by region and back the production of the hydrogen itself. These "grown fuels" are just raising the price of food in this country and even if you turned all the corn we grow into fuel, we would still be short. You could drain all the McDonalds fryers from Main to Portland and still not supply us with our needs. In short, bio-fuels are a HUGE waste of development dollars! In the end, if the AVERAGE person can't pull up to a station, knowing his fuel is available, they wont buy the vehicles!

MY FAMILY MOVED FROM CANADA TO CALIFORNIA WAY BACK IN 1964. THE GOLDEN STATE IS WHERE MY BROADCASTING CAREER BEGAN AT STATIONS IN SAN JOSE AND SACRAMENTO BUT IN 1994 I MADE THE BEST MOVE OF MY CAREER BY MOVING TO FOX 13 IN TAMPA. NOW 13 YEARS LATER I'M STILL ENJOYING BOTH THE STATION AND THE AREA. I'VE TRADED THE GOLDEN STATE FOR THE SUNSHINE STATE, AND WHAT A TRADE ITS BEEN. BY THE WAY, GO LIGHTNING!
