Just had to pipe in on the area sports scene this week. At the time of this blog the Rays had taken two of three from Boston and now lead the Red Sox by 2 and a half in the A.L. East and the brooms are poised for tonight. I have't had this much fun watching baseball in over a decade.

Meanwhile it looks like the LIghtning are trying to buy their way to the Stanley Cup with a pack of free agent signings. A word of caution. Just ask the New York Rangers how tough that is to do. I hope I'm wrong on this one.

I'M THE HOCKEY NUT AT FOX 13. ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME, KNOWS HOW MUCH I LOVE THE SPORT. I'VE PLAYED IT, COACHED IT AND NOW I EVEN REF IT. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RE FROM TORONTO CANADA. MY FAMILY MOVED FROM CANADA TO CALIFORNIA WAY BACK IN 1964. THE GOLDEN STATE IS WHERE MY BROADCASTING CAREER BEGAN AT STATIONS IN SAN JOSE AND SACRAMENTO BUT IN 1994 I MADE THE BEST MOVE OF MY CAREER BY MOVING TO FOX 13 IN TAMPA. NOW 13 YEARS LATER I'M STILL ENJOYING BOTH THE STATION AND THE AREA. I'VE TRADED THE GOLDEN STATE FOR THE SUNSHINE STATE, AND WHAT A TRADE ITS BEEN. BY THE WAY, GO LIGHTNING!
