What would you think if one of your neighbors flipped his flag upside down? Would it offend you?

LOL Truthguys...

Yes, it would if it is THE AMERICAN FLAG! and yes, I would be kind enough to fix it..no thank you needed.

Yes, they can have any other type of flag upside down but not the American that's insulting and disrespectful specially for the meaning BEHIND FOURTH OF JULY..INDEPENDENCE DAY.

have a great evening

This man is an American citizen making a cogent statement safeguarded by the First Amendment on his own private property. Far from being insulting and disrespectful, it's what America's all about. If anyone's disturbed by it, they need to re-read the Constitution and seriously ponder just how committed they are to the American values of freedom and individual rights enshrined in it. Patriotism doesn't mean lemminglike conformity and groupthink -- it means giving a darn about one's country.

He has his point and he wants to show it using the flag, At least he isn't burning it. Its his right, even though don't agree with it. I have a neighbor who has a Confederate flag and we have no problem with it on our street. Again its his right.

I am not in the least bit offended by the flag flying upside down in this case, as described by the Vet who is flying it that way. As a Vet, I fully understand the meaning of it. And, I must admit I fully agree with him.
What offends me is what George W. Bush, Dich Chaney, and the rest of the current regime have done to put our country into the dire, troubled situation it is in now.

I think the man should be fined. If I had a neighbor that flew his flag upside down I would go into his yard at night and flip it right side up. Or I would call the cops and see if there was something that they could do. I have a hard time believing that it is not a crime to fly the flag upside down.

I would not be offended at all. One of the reason our country is so great is that we have the freedom to express our opinion.

I believe our country IS in trouble; just look at our economy.

Maybe our government will see that fellow Americans are feeling the crunch from the bottom on up.

I would be offended if anyone flew the American flag upside down because of the brave service men and women who have sacrificed so much to allow us to have the freedom that this person would be abusing. However, isn't that the symbol for distress or danger? If it is, I can see how our country is in danger with the potential outcome of the November elections

Flying the U.S. flag upside down is a display of America in distress....rising gas and grocery prices, increased bankruptcies and foreclosures, increased crime rates...are we not America in distress???

If that's the case that it is a symbol of distress then maybe we should turn our Crosses upside down..BECAUSE HUMANITY is also in distress.....why can't we all just get along and fix or remedy problems instead of being violent and all the crimes.....dunno I truly have never heard such a thing, as a Flag is to be respected FOR ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.....

He is letting people know that we the USA are in trouble. It nice to know that he wants us to know that. Not many people would care to tell us that. We are a society that keeps to our selves. I am not offended.

NO! I wouldn't find it offending! It's a freedom of speech. It's their property they can whatever they like. They're paying the bills, they bought the flag, it's on their property. If you don't like seeing it flipped upside down then DON'T LOOK AT IT! yES I do support AMERICA 100% but.. isn't this what AMERICA is all about FREEDOM OF SPEECH. DOING WHAT WE ALL WANT WITHIN THE LAW. THE FLAG ISN'T HURTING ANYBODY!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

I am a Disabled Vietnam Vet and I fought to give him and everyone in this country the right to express his opinion in anyway they see fit as long as no laws are violated.Florida is only starting to see the economic crunch here.I moved home to Michigan three years ago from Orlando and I was shocked at the state of the economy there.look out Florida the roller coaster ride has just begun. My mother, father, and grandfather were all vets and they fought for the freedom we have to do such things.this country is in economic distress and flying the flag upside down is an international distress signal. If you disagree pull up to the gas pump or buy groceries.Try living off a fixed income like many seniors all over this great country of ours.thank you

As a veteran he has earned the right to protest and express himself using the flag. He paid by enduring the despicable treatment on his return from war from all the good citizens of the good old USA. I salute him for his courage and damn his critics.

I think that our freedom in America will bring about our downfall. When we get too comfortable with our freedom we forget to be considerate towards our fellow country men. yeah flying the American flag upside down is a sign of distress and we are in distress right now but the boys in Washington arent helping and WE the people elect them in office. the veterans of the armed forces fought for those politicians in DC to sit on their butts and do nothing about our economic distress but we are more concerned about what Senator is playing footsies with who and what kind of church Obama goes to.
