It’s been a busy week in the world of news!

A hostage freed after being held for nearly 6 years, the new 408 ramp aimed at easing congestion opened. Former idol Ace Young stopped by the fox 35 studio and Governor Charlie Crist pops the question.

But we want to know what's on your mind?

Instead of mulling over all the bad news, let's thank the lord for all our blessings on this birthday of the greatest nation in the world. Today is a day of celebration. We can go back to the other NEWS tomorrow.
Happy Independence Day to all.

I would like to THANK TOM for reminding everyone about keeping their pets safe during the 4th. Did you know more PETS are lost every year during the 4th because they spoooked by the fireworks.... Wishing everyone a fun filled & safe 4th of JULY.

"Man Gives Birth" is tabloid fodder, not news. A man, after all, did not give birth. A woman who chooses to live as a man gave birth. Not so sensational when you put it in perspective, is it?

That piece about the hostages being freed in Columbia has to be one of the best stories I've heard in a long time. I can easily see a movie being made about this. Hats off to the Columbians for pulling this off!

Happy 4th to you all. J-Darrowin... I agree. it's a movie in the making for sure.

The best stories are true stories because truth is always stranger than fiction.

Can't make this stuff up!

Have a good one :)

Whats one my mind is that yesterday my wife and I celebrated 19 happy years together and I pray that we do another 19+.

yes Fox news it is good to see good news for a change. But that tabloid story about the woman who wants to think she is a man isnt a news story, its a tabloid paper story.

FANTASTIC fireworks at Red, Hot and Boom last night!!

Of course, traffic was horrendous after that, but if you waited a while, had some ice cream and enjoyed a walk, it was not bad at all.

I just had a great time!!

Happy Anniversary, Ericjhach ... and Happy 4th of July to all!!

O no Charley DON'T DO IT !!! This could make me the only “Free man” left from our graduating class ...well I am not going to be taking up the slack , just think of all the poor girls who are going to have to pay for their own dinner now !

I am glad to see the hostages released but a bit disappointed that nothing was said about who was holding them or why ...as always the media is FARC-ING around when it comes to what is going on in South America !....I think every one would be VERY interested in who is fighting in Columbia as it relates directly to a war we are currently involved in !

The 408 ramp is not about congestion it is about more land for development in down town...

Tell me was it 14 freed, or 17 freed? It doesn't really matter, I'm glad they all get to go home to loved ones.

Good news #2, the dog which was thrown out in the rollover crash was returned home. YAY!

Happy 4th!

Hey JD..That Colombian Rescue has CIA written ALL over it..

Like they say in the "Company";

"When everything goes right,, everybody else gets the credit..When it ALL goes down the tubes,, the CIA gets the BLAME.."..

From what I understand, they *were* trained by Americans. Likely they received some intelligence from them as well.

Still, regardless of whether the CIA was involved or not, they pulled it off, and several hostages are now visiting their families, a few terrorists are under custody, and doubtless some other terrorists are probably being tortured by their own leaders in an effort to find who who else is "a rat". Good news all around.
