I believe instead of spending our time debating on who is right or wrong in the Mark Lundsford case we should be focusing on other things more important, like teaching our children and the youth we know what to do in the event someone tries to take them. My parents always told me to scream, kick, hit, slap, pinch, poke, anything to get them off of me. We are all aware some children are just too small to hurt an attacker. I was also taught in the even of the attacker being too big for me to yell random yet attention capturing things such as "FIRE!" or "SHARK!". Yes they sound dumb and ineffective but think about it. If there is a child in the middle of the mall yelling "fire" or "shark" you are going to look. As a human it is inevitable that you look. When you look and see this child being forced away you as an American citizen should have the guts to help the child. Now you can also tell children after they yell the attention capturing word or remark they can then begin to frantically yell things like " I DON'T KNOW YOU!" or "YOUR NOT MY MOMMY/DADDY!" This is a sure-fire way to help a child. I would also like any other suggestions that could potentially help a child in need.
