Oprah and Obama has been close friends for years. Stands to reason she would reaffirmed her support Go to fullsize image for his presidential candidacy.  It's her first time and she's going to make it count.  I say, way to go Oprah! Just say the word and we'll vote.  Oprah has not given Barrack any money. Go to fullsize image She says money doesn't matter to him. We all know that her support is worth more than gold. See Oprah's got it like   that... and she is doing the right thing Go to fullsize image  in supporting her people. Now I know my fellow bloggers and bloggetts have a word a two on this topic, so come on with it, then. I rarely post a blog in politics, but here we are.

Hello , I'm really not into politics , but I don't like the fact that Oprah is going out full force promoting a polition . It just bugs me . She knows that she has a huge following , but Oprah is not the one running ! This makes me not want to vote for him . I like and respect Oprah but.. Obama is NOT Oprah . Politions are for the most part corrupt , and I have always held Oprah was at a higher more respectful level .

I have nothing against Oprah, and I think her endorsement, or any celebrities endorsement to any candidate, is completely meaningless. I couldn’t possibly care less who Oprah likes or doesn't like. That applies to anyone. Celebrity or not. I like someone because of what I think, not because of what someone else thinks. If anyone supports a candidate just because of what celeb endorses them, they shouldn't be allowed to vote, on the grounds of being incredibly stupid.

Vote for whomever YOU like, WHO CARES WHAT OPRAH, OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER, THINKS?

I heard the after Oprah left the stage, people left in droves. It seems that they were more interested in seeing Oprah than listening to Obama.

It's overkill how celebrity status are stomping out everyone else's way of thinking in politics. I don't care for Oprah's choice of people preferences. This not being fat and losing weight. Why doesn't she just stick to her own forum. With the way that she's doing this, she will for sure lose her fans, or whoever else follows her b.s. of a show.

"I heard the after Oprah left the stage, people left in droves. It seems that they were more interested in seeing Oprah than listening to Obama."

imo, that's pathetic. If you want to listen to Oprah, then go to her show, buy her magazine, or listen to her radio station, lawd knows there's no lack of resources for Oprah. But to go to a political rally just to listen to what she has to say, is sad. So now Obama thinks that his numbers are up, and his camp will twist and spin things so it seems like he's got a lot of supporters, when in reality people went to see a celeb, not him. Now that is truly sad. And shameful. I liked Obama, but this is beyond tacky, using peoples weakness and stupidity. tsk tsk Obama. You're not fooling anyone.

There have been stars behind politicians for as long as I can remember. Why does it bother people when the O decides to support one?

Measure S phone tax could tap Internet usage
By Kerry Cavanaugh, Staff Writer
Article Last Updated: 12/10/2007 11:10:20 PM PST

Despite assurances that a telephone-users tax on the February ballot is simply aimed at modernizing how Los Angeles taxes communications systems, wording in the measure opens the door to also taxing Internet access.
Federal law currently prohibits taxes on Internet access and e-mail - but that law sunsets in 2014, and some watchdogs said Monday that if the broadly written Measure S telephone tax passes it could allow the city to tax Internet access without additional voter approval.
"How do you say you're not taxing the Internet when the statute specifically says it's covering DSL, Voice-Over-Internet protocol, text messaging, instant messaging and PCS?" said Walter Moore, who is writing the opposition to the measure for the Feb. 5 ballot.
"You don't need a law degree to realize this is a tax on the Internet and wireless and all that."
But city officials said that while the measure is broadly written to cover changing communications technology, it is not designed to tax the Internet.
"For the foreseeable future, this is the law of the land. It's very clear for us it doesn't allow for taxation of the Internet," said Nick Velasquez, spokesman for City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.
And counsel to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said the city would have to seek voter approval even if federal law changed to allow taxation of Internet access.
"We would have to go back to voters to update our ordinance," spokeswoman Janelle
Erickson said. "O

Wow, you all are really surprising me with these replies. People did not show up to see oprah, that is pure speculation. They knew who was the star for the evening and Oprah was out of her element. They came to hear what she had to say about Obama and left their names and phone numbers. She is swinging this election. It's on now.

Bellker, Obama himself said at the rally that he knew people where there to see O, not him. ??????
How can you say it's "speculation" ?

If you read my comment, I said that I don’t care about ANY CELEB, not just O. I don't care what Steven thinks either. Or you, or anyone. We all need to do our homework and read what each candidate is like, what they support, and go with the one we like. period. I said I have nothing against O, I simply don't care who she endorses. That's all. What is so wrong about that? Besides, this post isn't on Steven Spielberg and whom he likes, it's on Oprah and Obama, Right?

i'll be honest, i don't like oprah. she bugs/irritates me. she always seems to think she knows what's best for people, and comes off as a know it all. it bugs me. i didnt have a problem with obama, i might have voted for him, but since he has oprah's endorsement, i'm changing it to hiliary just because she irritates me that much. i hate oprah so much that if i were a vegitarian, and oprah was telling everyone to become a vegitarian, i would eat meat just to spite her. that's how much i hate her.

the only reason i'm voting for hilary is because of her husband. he was a decent president, and who better to give a future president advice on how to handle things, then a person that was one?

oprah killed obama's chances of winning.

by the way, i hate angelina jolie too. i think i hate her more then oprah. so if she was endorsing obama, i wouldn't vote for him because of her. so don't think it's a race thing, it's a oprah thing, and i hate her guts.

Samo you are sick.... and in trouble. Any time you allow some one else, especially someone you do not know to influence you to point of the way you describe it, then you need to examine yourself and seek strength to over come this issue.

Never let anyone still your joy and make you change your decision. That's a sign of a weak and sick person.

Stand on your own two feet, don't run back and forth.... DON'T BLAME OPRAH FOR YOU PROBLEM, she doesn't know you're alive... You are but one vote.
