PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! YOU ARE RUINING OUR LIVES AND SPORTS! THIS IS A SALEM WITCH HUNT!
I am a world champion natural bodybuilder. I have trained for 25 years consistanlty! I have devoted my life to physique development. Why do you hate us? Ever since congress decided to stick their noses in someting that has nothing to do with politics, the American people have attacked the athletes as if we were satan. They speak with no education or knowledge about the true issue here. This problem is not the athletes fault. It is the commissioners fault. They have scapegoated their lack of knowledge during these years onto "we" the athletes.
These are the facts: Baeball chose to not ban steroids up until recently, most of these players took these "supplements" and drugs during these times. The supplements were sold at local heath food stores for years with no adverse health problems to anyone. Somehow these supplements became controlled dangerous substances just because they had apparently improved athletes skills. So an averagee construction worker cannot take these supplements? Freedom of choice is only for smokers and drinkers apparently in the US.
We need a list of what we are alloud to take!!!!! Not a banned substance list. The way the rules are in place is wrong. They give us no choice but to cheat. If a new supplement is being sold at GNC, and is not on the banned list, and lts legal to buy, an athlee is going to take it. If I have not broken any rules, why would I be held responsible for something I took? If an investigation about a supplement breaks out four years later, and FDA chooses to remove it from shelves, that would mean the time I took it, it was legal. The rules that are in place are wrong! How do they expect to hold these people accountable when they are so uneducated about all of this themselves. What football is clean? The average lineman weighs how much now? How much did they weigh when Alzado was playing and drug testing was not in place? Are we stupid? I have not seen one investigation into any other sport like this. WE NEED A LIST OF WHAT WE CAN TAKE. This way if years down the road they would than have a right to go after these athletes for lying. This is not even a political issue, so I do not even beleive that this is happening. This sounds like a lot of rich, spoiled, children arguing. She did it, I did it, you said, she said. WE ARE ACTING LIKE CHILDREN! Well, I guess thats what we get when only the rich get to run for political office. Childish priorities. Shouldn't this be a major legaue baseball issue? Congress is full of spoiled children obviously. Compare Bonds to Bill Clinton? 3/4 of Americans said no prison for Clinton and is not a political issue. Bonds however,CNN said 3/4 said if he lied he should go to prison? For hitting a ball farther? Something is seriously wrong with 3/4 of this countries morals, and since 3/4 of Americans do not consistantly live an athletes lifestyle, seeing these numbers disturbs me. I walk down the street and am called "juice head, "steroids", "your butt will quit growing if you quit feeding it", little 7 year old boys telling my 7 year old daughter I use steroids. This is our examples to our youth? I do not take illegal substances and have been training for 25 years. I have a positive story about athletics. I am a happy father of a 7 year old daughter and a two month old son, and have a loving wife. Now I am hated for the way I look. How about some positive aspects on bodybuilding and sports. It saved my life from a downhill spiral. If it wasn't for the gym, I would be dead. I would love to tell my story.
What I am saying is this, please stop treating people that look like they may have used steroids so horribly. Think about how you are acting. Especially around my children. My 7 year old should not know what steroids are, but there is something wrong when 7 year old boys are telling her bad things that are not true about her daddy. I guess the example that Bush wanted to set for our young boys was this one? He truely iss a very ignorant man. I pray that one day people like me can show the youth that you can be everything they want to be with hard work and dedication. Seems today if someone naturally starts to acheive they just get acused of drugs.
I ask again...why is this a political issue and what are we doing? This is only teaching our children it is ok to smoke cigarttes, drink liquor and beer. I got a big problem with these politicians, and I know that they are going to try to make athletic supplement illegal. Cigarettes and alcohol legal? Athletic supplements illegal? Thats why the politicians are in this. Its big pharmacy. They scare 3/4 of americans into thinking supplemets are dangerous. 3/4 of Americans don't work out so they will beleive what they are told. Freedom of choice only ecits in cosmetics for woman. I hate seeing all this. It makes me lose a lot of respect for this system. This is sneaky, low down, politics. FREEDOM OF CHOICE! Nothing should ever be made illegal if no one has died. Speculation for complications down the road is like trying to say they can predict your death. I hope something changes in this country. We are bcoming a dictatorship of money more and more every day.
