I posted on this subject back in April and here we go again. Is anyone really SURPRISED that the Santiago Canyon fire was started by an arsonist or arsonists? The media (sorry FOXLA) practically invites arsonists to start these fires by providing weather conditions and prime fire locations. My cousin is a Los Angeles City Fire Department Captain and I've discussed this with him, as well as with other firefighters - everyone I've spoken with agrees that the media provides way to much information.

It's frustrating to tune in and hear the reporters repeat over and over again "Red Flag Warning - that means rapid fire growth potential in these areas. Warning is from this time today until noon on Wednesday." So you're telling the arsonists that perfect conditions exist for their evil crimes, but you're also telling them where and for how long these conditions will exist." Any sicko arsonist can be sitting at home watching TV and know exactly where and when to strike thanks to the news.

I totally understand that as reporters, you have jobs to do, but this kind of reporting is just irresponsible. Trust me, I've gotten that feedback directly from firefighters. Please stop this irresponsible reporting.

I must say that I'm really disappointed with the media, including Fox 11 LA. Every time there are high winds or dry conditions, every news personality in town is on the screen talking about "RED FLAG WARNING. HIGH EXPLOSIVE FIRE DANGER." Why don't we just drive around throwing lit matches out the window in dense brush?

Just a couple of days ago, I was shocked to see a reporter standing next to dry brush that has not been cleaned. She was reporting the location of the brush and stating that with this RECORD DRY SEASON, the FIRE DANGER was VERY HIGH. To make matters worse, later on in the report when Rick was doing the traffic and it went to the 405 cam in the Sepulveda Pass, Rick made it a point to mention "that's the dry brush" that was discussed earlier in the broadcast. YIKES!

Ummm... hello? Am I the only one noticing this? Why are we giving arsonists tips on where and when to start fires? I think there should be more responsible reporting in such situations where these mentally disturbed people might be watching the news and plotting their next arson attack.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my Fox 11 LA. It's the only news I watch & the only morning show I have any respect for. I just think that, as with anything in life, there are imperfections and issues that should be looked at.

I just wanted to say thank you to Steve, Jillian, Dorothy,  and everyone who is a part of the FOX11 morning news and Good Day LA. Having channel 11 on every morning is a necessity for me - just like some people need their coffee.

Many years ago, when your show first started, I was going through a rough time in my life. Thanks to your colorful personalities, I was able to wake up every day with a smile on my face. Believe it or not, some of you characters were very inspiring to me.

Jillian, all my life Lucille Ball was my hero & she still is... but I hold a similar high regard for you as well. Steve, you have a brilliant mind - when there's news to be heard, there's no one I'd rather hear it from... thank you for your thoughtful insights into this thing we call life. Dorothy, sometimes I just want you to get on with it and stop 'babbling', but I know you mean well and you're torn between morailty and entertainment reporting - The show truly wouldn't be the same without you. As for the others - you're ALL just as important on the show as the 3 I mentioned. Thank youall.

Before we go to bed at night, my fiance' knows to leave the bedroom TV on channel 11 so I can turn it on when I wake up - it's literally the first thing I do after I turn off my alarm clock.

This is simply a thank you for being so entertaining, wonderful, and inspiring.

I would first like to apologize if anyone is offended or upset by this. Letters of complaint sometimes don't work and they tend to be received on an individual basis. I figured creating this blog might help me gather more feedback and reinforce my feelings.

I really don't think that Karen Posada is cut out for this show or this channel. It is PAINFUL to hear her get through her reports in the morning. Her voice and her reporting style make my skin crawl. She stumbles through every report, stops in the middle of sentences, and constantly mispronounces words. It's just terrible, unprofessional, and falls far below the standards of this show.

I am the child of immigrants so this isn't about race or anything like that. I happen to think that Elizabeth Espinosa is an AWESOME reporter. She is very well-spoken and has great chemistry with everyone else on the show. Her personality is fantastic and her reports are pleasant.

Poor Karen doesn't seem to have any connections with anyone on the show. This morning's report about the tanker crash was a train wreck itself!

If anyone agrees with me, please share your thoughts, but PLEASE, let's keep the ignorance, bad language, and insults out of this. My comments were honest and I was not trying to be cruel in any way.
