On August 7, 2008, the Mayor of Detroit was sent to jail. Against the advice of his own legal team, Mayor Kilpatrick stood defiantly up to Judge Giles & made the statements that assured his incarceration. Claiming that he was being "revolutionarilly railroaded, especially by the eye of the media" & that "his sons were instructed to watch this case to understand right from wrong'. His arrogance in the face of justice not only backfired for him, but his wife & family witnessed his incarceration in his own County Jail. Now, all of the sudden the flood gates have opened, with AG Mike Cox expected to announce severe charges against the mayor on August 8th. Even his most devout supporters are now questioning their Mayor's ability to lead & his true motives in office. Kwame Kilpatrick, at this point in time your wife & family need you; It is time for you to step down as Mayor & attempt to restore sanity to you & yours. This is no longer political, this is no longer racial, it is about your personal; survival & salvation. Mayor Kilpatrick, do the right thing & resign so the city & the region can attempt to restore dignity to a great city as Detroit once had. There is no shame in admitting like a man you were wrong & you know the time is at hand. You, Mayor Kilpatrick can be the catalyst for a greater Detroit or you can keep fighting & go down in a blaze of glory, along with your city-The choice is yours.

I also go on the record to state that either the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and/or Judge Giles will have a bond hearing concerning the charges leveled by AG Mike Cox. I don't claim to be a lwayer but these new charges could conceivably constitute a violation of bond guidelines, noting that the bond was set before these new charges were leveled. With the representatives from the State Police waiting to book & print the Mayor on these charges, I think we have seen a world's record for bond violation after a bond was issues and adjusted.

Remember quite a while ago when you wrote about Kilpatick just getting himself in deeper and more people being involved in this mess the longer he stayed in office? Truer words were never spoken Car.

He is the first to be jailed while still in office. Two others (I think I read two somewhere), were jailed after there terms were up.

Thanks Jax; I did say in the early stages that by him acting like he was above the laws that govern all & by him making a mockery of the judicial system, others would be in line especially when he made more mistakes. He alone compllicated this issue by not standing up like a man, accepting responsibility for his & others actions that were a direct result of his position as Mayor. He was too obvious to me & I knew in my heart that his day would come more swiftly then even he imagined. Many in his mind would stay upright in his ship but now that it is taking on water, looking out for #1 is becoming the only logical answer to survive this issue. The pressure on the Mayor, his family & all involved must be tremendous & more will step forward as the process moves on, count on it.

I am presently disabled due to a work injury in the construction field. I was born & raised in Detroit for over 40 years. I presently reside in Macomb County, in recovery since April 4, 2004. I tend to post & reply from actual experiences and topics that lean towards informing people about positive things, while making sure that the real story isn't lost in the shuffle. My posts & comments are my opinion, letting you be the judge based on the issue & current events. (Good ole Disclaimer stuff). I am all for America & Americans, but not for government control & political games. I don't candy coat nothing & give what I receive. Life is too short to play mind games or waste my time with negativity. Update: Regina & I were married on June 29th, 2008 after 4 years together-It just dosen't get any better then this for me!
