If you recently bought a 1974 Firebird as an untitled vehicle from a man who lives in North Mesquite, you have bought a vehicle that was taken from me and is essentially STOLEN! (Pictures of the car can be seen in my profile as soon as they are approved) I let a man test drive this car and it was never returned to me. I still have the clear title to this car in my possession, and have been going every legal route I know how to have it returned to me, including sending Certified Civil Demand letters to this man. The last certified letter that I sent was returned to me, and I was making arrangements to have the car repossessed, but the car disppeared from this man's residence. I sent a spotter to his home, posing as a potential buyer, they were told that the car had already been sold.
If you see this car on the streets, it is tagged and inspected ILLEGALLY--I am the only one who can buy tags for this car, as I am the title holder. There is not really anything the police can do to help me because I trusted this man on his word and let him test drive the car.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of this vehicle, or who has possession of it, it would be of great help to me.
You really can't miss this car if you were to see it--it's orange, and has high performance parts under the hood and is very loud and very fast. If you've seen it, or you think you may have it, please respond and arrangements will be made to compare VIN#s.
Thanks

What kind of Police Department do we have in Mesquite?? Well, let me tell you a little about how they "protect and serve"!
Last night, my son had a friend over that he has known and been fairly close to for over two years now. This friend of his has been doing drugs lately and my son has tried his best to talk his friend into cleaning up his act. When he came over last night, he was apparently "coming down" off of something that kept him up for a couple of days. He STOLE my son's spare set of keys to his car right off of my kitchen table when no one was looking, then came back in the middle of the night and took my son's car for a joyride. The friend admitted this to my son today, and also admitted to him (in front of his own mother who wanted him to go to jail for what he had done) that the reason why he had come to our house last night was to take my son's car keys so that he could take his car without his permission.
The Mesquite Police were called out to the boy's house when my son went to confront him, but my son was told by the mesquite Police that THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SEE THE BOY DRIVING THE CAR!!!!! Doing our own investigating, we found out that they boy had also tried to steal a friend's father's truck from local church parkinglot. My son tried to tell the officers about this, but they wouldn't let him talk about it and let the boy go on his way. Now we have to be on constant lookout for this kid to be returning to our home! So much for "protect and serve"!!

I was informed today of the amount of my current electric bill that is coming due--$348--that's almost DOUBLE what it was last month of around $180!! My house is a 3 bedroom brick, but not that big of one! Watch out people--get ready to live with the thermostat at 80 degrees! Any lower and we'll have to start eating less to save for electricity!

I would like to send in a video that I took on my camera of the storm as it blew threw my backyard in Mesquite. It blew down some tree limbs and looked awesome! Anybody know how to do that?

Thanks to all who are so supportive. Yes, these are God's special children, and a gift and a blessing to those of us who get to raise and nurture them. My son has taught me patience (most of all), tolerance, and unconditional love.
It's good to know that there are still good people out there who actually do care.
Peace to you ;)

This is to the parents of Taylor, the Autistic young man who got lost Wednesday night and was found safe Thurday morning:
I too am the caregiver of my son Keith, a 21 year old Autistic young adult, who also has the mental capacity of about a 4-5 year old. I said a prayer for Taylor to be found safely just as soon as I heard about him. My son has "gone for walks" in the middle of the night, and I've had the police knock on my door and wake me up more times than I care to remember, to tell me that they have found him out wandering in the night.
I just want to offer my moral support to you as another parent of an individual with Autism, and I pray that you come under no criticism from anyone for what happened with Taylor. Not having a sense of danger is just part of the Autism. And as much as we try our best to "keep our eye" on them and do our best for them, things happen. People are going to have to understand that, though sadly some don't. Those who have never walked in your shoes shouldn't pass judgement, and I have to admit, it made me feel a little better to know that I wasn't the only one this kind of thing had happened to! It's a very hard job, but so rewarding when you see them smile or hear them laugh, and it makes our job a little easier to handle when we have the support of our community. BIG KUDOS to all those who helped in finding Taylor. I am so thankful that our Lord answered our prayers and kept him safe and sound and that now he's back where he is loved the most.
In your corner,
Christi

Just a note of support to all the anchors and reporters who keep us entertained and informed so many times a day. You guys do need to leave Evan alone though. He may just come back and bite you where it hurts someday! Nah, I don't think so. He knows it's all in fun.
