It's about time that the state went after AllState.  I have heard horror stories of people paying for insurance for years only to make a small claim, have to argue to get the claim paid, and then get cancelled!  During the devasting hurricane seasons a few years ago, AllState still made money!  Over the years since they were established, 1931, they have made billions!

I know of one elderly couple who paid Allstate for over 40 years... made one small claim, searched for the cheapest repairs... got an argument from AllState on the claim... which was eventually paid, and were then cancelled!  Over that 40 years they had paid AllState enough money to equal the value of the home.

A suggestion to everyone... put the money you would pay any insurance company into a savings account...  You will have the money to pay for any small problems, and if you don't have any for years, you will have the money to pay for major repairs.

It didn't last long, didn't take any time at all for some judges to kiss there A**. YOU wonder what these judges get for all there stupid decisions in this state. Didn't take them any time to say POOR Alstate, you need our help. I also wonder who there insurance company is, I think that would shed a light on this too. Wonder is Allstate is in good hands with them. As usual we get the shaft in the courts in Florida, the backward state.

op... I agree... I wonder where the state's lawmakers/attornies/judges get their licenses... Sears? The latest stats on the number of people who have moved here proves a point... (and eases the traffic on the bad roads) ... we are not "resident friendly"...

I am an Environmental Specialist with Hills. Cty. Basically, I am a "dumpster diver". I also do a lot of educational graphics design about the proper disposal of household chemical & electronics, litter, etc. My hobbies are very diverse... golf and reading, with sci-fi, forensic mysteries, and history being my favorites. My other passion is photography, mostly nature. Ever since experiencing my first hurricane in Florida, Cleo in 1964 when I was 15, when the eye went over my house, I have been fascinated with weather. I have a 99% accuracy... including predicting Charley's turn away from Tampa the night before he hit down south.
