I just read in the Star that Jared Allen wants to be traded since he can't get a contract worked out .He is a good player with lots of potential on the field but with the DUI's he has proved he still is a risk off the field and is facing a possible suspension at the start of next season. I think the Chiefs should give him a decent not large 1 or 2 year contract load it with performance incentives and personal conduct clauses, then see what happens.

I have written a blog about this myself and to tell you the truth I know he is good but if he want's to act like a child then the organization should cut their loses!

Since good jerseys are $100 or more I take alot of time chosing the right player. I want a player that is going to be around and is a true Cheif.

2 years ago I asked for and received a Jared Allen's home jersey for Christmas.

Between the recent news and his 2 DUI's I don't think I can wear it even if he does stay.

He has totaly disapointed me as a fan.

Anyone garage saling in Kearney this summer can get a great deal on a #69 jersey.

Thanks Jared, I am going to stick with Sweatshirts from now on.

Jared just needs to learn to grow up and realize that there are a tons of kids looking up to him but we also shouldnt be into his personal life. As long as he gets his job done on the field he should be able to do whatever the heck he wants.

i agree with bettekck and adam/70. The ball players are an idol to the young people and are setting examples for them. If they can't abide by the laws, they don't deserve the salaries that they are getting. Put some of that money into helping the young people of the city.

I honestly could care less what he does with his off time but as a person that is in the public's eye he needs to grow up and act like a RESPONSIBLE adult. Where are the guys that just loved to play and that were proud to be a role model? Now all we have are guys that only play for the love of money and to date a model!

i don't think the players off the field life has changed, but the amount of media coverage has. there is no way you can tell me that the chiefs from the late 60's and 70's drank or partied any less than todays players. they just didn't get plastered all over the internet and tv when they got caught.

Over the hill and going up the next one,and after reading many of the politically motivated blogs here I just want to say,an airplane can't fly with just one wing whether it be right wing or a left wing it will just fly in circles like a dog chasing its tail.
