I have had the priviledge of living in both countries.  I am a firm believer in universal health care.  When I came to America, I was very upset with the price of health care.  In Canada we have never paid for Dr.s visits or for that matter anything pertaining to health care.  People get upset over something they know nothing about.  All they hear are the bad things like having to wait for CAT machines, or hip and knee replacement.  In the real world emergencies come first, which is the way it should be.  Our taxes cover the cost of health care.  In retrospect, we may be higher taxed but the cost of living in Canada is higher.  It all balances out in the end.  United States is the only country without universal health care.  It upsets me to see older men and women who have to work past 65 just to survive.  I met a women whose husband had cancer and had to sell their home to pay for it.  They worked their entire lives to be able to retire with dignity.  Her husband passed away and left her with a hefty debt to pay.  How sad for the many people like her.  Canada is in a transition right now, shutting down hospitals that run in the black and opening up new and more efficient hospitals.  Within 5 years the entire health system will be changed for the better.  Canada also does a lot of research like the United States.  As a matter of fact, Toronto Sick Childrens hospital has done surgeries on kids from all over the world and United States for free.  They are world renowned for their medical innovations.  Take it from one who knows and lived it.

I will start by saying this has been the most interesting election I have ever lived to see.   Although John McCain is according to the media a very nice person, he is in my opinion too old to be running for president in this crutial period in history.  United States needs a younger thinker to bring us up into this century.  The past 8 years has shown that our interests lie in war and not the economy that needs fixing.  If John McCain becomes president, I believe that we will never get out of the mess that this government has put is in.  The next presidency will spend the first 4 years trying to raise our economy.  I think health care and bringing our troops home should be a major priority.  The money we are spending on troops could be allocated here in security and cost a lot less.  We cannot and never will win a religious war.

It is time for a democratic government again.  Hillary is my choice for President, not because she is a women, but because she has vast experience.  She would be a great embassador for other countries because she has the experience to do so.  As for her being married to Bill, in my opinion is a plus.  They have been in the political realm for a very long time and have earned the respect they deserve.  Hillary's health care plan should be studied very long and hard.  We do need health care in the country.  I hope there comes a day that we do not have to pay for Dr.'s visits, hospital or surgeries.  Canada has this system, although it may not be perfect at least everyone is entitled to health care.  I would rather pay taxes for health care than pay for a war I do not and have not believed in from the beginning.  I say give Hillary a chance to prove that she is as strong as any man in government anywhere in the world.  She is our hope to bring United States into the 21st century with the other countries.  We do not stand alone, we are all a part of a bigger world that belongs to  God.
