So there I was, sitting on the couch watching TV with my dogs. It was almost 11am and I was watching the food network as I often do on the weekends before I go to work. My couch started shaking and I could hear a slight rattling sound coming from the hanging coffee mugs and the china cabinet. At that moment I didnt think anything of it. I quickly got up after the shaking stopped and checked for anything abnormal outside that could have caused it. Much to my dismay I didnt see anything. The next thing I did was call my boyfriend. The conversation went something like this. . ."Hey hun. I think my house just shook. Im sitting here watching TV and the couch and everything started shaking. Do you think it could have been an earthquake?" Well, his response to this nearly impossible event was, "Really? The house shook? Maybe you have a sinkhole under your house." He said that earthquakes didnt happen in Florida. Ok so I thought I was crazy and I let it go. Later on I had to go to work. When I clocked in and walked to my area all I heard was this buzz about the earthquake that had taken place at 11am. I wasnt nuts!! I quickly found my boyfriend, (he works the same place I do), and told him of this news. I could hardly stand the excitement. I was excited to feel something like that because it will probably not happen again in my lifetime. I was also a little concerned as to what this meant. Either way, this was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Florida born and raised girl like myself.

I was actually still laying in bed. I live right near the water as you cross over the Howard Franklin Bridge to St. Pete. I was laying in bed and I felt the bed vibrate and shake a lil. I thought maybe I was out of my mind or that it was someone's bass near by. But it continued and I saw the Flat screen on the wall move and other objects in the room. I thought "earthquake" but knew that could not be possible. I ran downstairs and asked my fiance if he felt anything and he looked at me like I was crazy. I started to think maybe I was, lol. I walked outside to check if something happened and I saw nothing. Then as we were watching t.v. a little while later we saw .....breaking news...... I knew I was not growing crazy. It was good that my fiance saw it as well and I was able to show him the earth really did move. Wow!
