The Galleria robber set out to take valuables from an innocent victim(fact). The Galleria robber found a victim and baiting her in by asking for a light(fact). Obviously the robber didn't appear threating cause the lady thrusted him enough to approach (robbers advantage)(speculation). He then took her purse and drove off (strong arm robbery)(fact). The victim attempted to stop him and get her purse back when she was knocked to the ground and ran over by the getaway truck(fact).

Police say they don't believe the robber intended to run over the victim. What kind of police department is this? Drunk drivers don't intend on running over or into people neither. Who's side are you on? I feel for the victim because according to Richmond Heights PD she is not a victim and it's her fault for not wanting to see a crook get away with her purse.

The robber says he is sorry and turned himself in, the media says because his family encouraged him to do so. I think all of the surveillence video caught him and family will not aid a criminal who's pictures are all over TV. Thats how I see it.  If he felt that bad he would not have tried to use the credit cards.  First offense or second offense, when you victimize another person you should go to jail, the media and the Police are petty coating this crime and criminal.  I hope the County Prosecutor sees this crime as he has all the others in the past that have been commited in STL County.

As for Richmond Heights PD , my intentions where not to run that red light, I just wanted to get to work on time. I know you believe me. Don't you?

This guy went out looking to rob someone and he picked the easiest shopping mall with the most potential money per victim. He baited the gal and took her purse. I agree to all of this that you've said. However; I do not believe that he intended to run over the gal. The arrests can vary but a jury of his peers would never see that as intentional. He is guilty of strong armed robbery, assault, fleeing the scene of an accident with personal injury, and throw in another for good press. The DA might try to pin attempted 2nd degree murder but that won't hold water.

JMO: He should get 5 to 10 years depending on his current record. Please keep atop of this and let's see what he gets. Thanks.

I doent matter if he didnt "mean" to run over her, he did, she is still in the hospital he is accountable for his own actions.

If you shoot someone while robbing them and they die, you will be charged with murder right? Even if you didn't MEAN to kill them...
Bottom line he ran over her during the robbery that means he needs to be charged w/ it as well.

I'm going to have to leave you alone on this one.
That’s like saying I didn’t know that bank robbery was a crime until I got caught with the bag of money. I'm sure his intent was to get the purse and get the "H" out of there.
fortunately or unfortunately intent is subjective. We don’t know what’s in their mind we only can see results.
Prosecutors don't need "motive intent" while trying cases in front of a jury, but it makes it much easier for people to understand why a crime was commented.

He did not go out intending to run someone over - that removes premediation. I am not supporting anything this scumbag did just hoping the DA won't trump up charges too much so that a jury will have only one decision .... hung jury. It's quite simple people, we all knew this guy was out to purse snatch a female (probably not a healthy 24 year old) at the most crime ridden mall in the area.

Ibuxx: You are stretching it but yes, that would be murder probably either 2nd degree or some type of manslaughter. You have to treat each incident on a case by case basis. Usually when someone robs a business/person and they are armed that's much worse than no gun - a difference of 10 - 20 year sentencing.

LadyFireman: Prosecutors need "motive/intent" if they want an open/shut case. If this dude has no/little criminal history he'll serve 3 to 5 years. I do understand he claimed to be on heroine so he probably has some theft charge history.

You always have to view each scenario as if you are the juror. After seeing the video, yeah, he left the scene of a hit/run with personal injury. That along with strong arm robbery and assault will be the charges.

At least he's locked up now and will be so for another 3 to 5 years.

I heard that his purpose was to get money because he had a heroin problem. The minute I heard that, I immediately figured that they were going to try to get the,"it`s a sickness" defense. If that woman had landed a little different, he would have run over her head. Prosecute him to the full extent the law allows. If it prevents just one more event of this kind, it will be well worth it. Criminal activity could all be considered sickness.

Well, bottom line, this guy was a total idiot. He elbowed her in the face, she was hanging on to the truck for dear life and was ran over. Who cares if he says he wasn't trying to run her over. He did it. You do the crime, do the time.

We need to closely monitor this case because after it's said and done - I believe we'll all be pissed at his sentence. I am hoping that this drug addiction doesn't soften the judge/jury which it probably won't.

Great point,da_opposition!!!Granted,he gets credit for at least apologizing--or CLAIMING to.But Mr.robber, are you willing to BACK THAT UP?Like agreeing to pay her medical bills sinse YOU put her there? And help the lady&her family out?I totally believe in the power&beauty of forgiveness at times. But unfortunately nowadays, too many only CLAIM too be sorry, but either don't mean it at all...or it's too late because the victim died&"I'm sorry"isn't going to give them back!

So do the right thing thing "Mr.robber":Back your apology up like a REAL man! It's not too late!
