The American Invasion...

Recently I was watching a movie called Red Dawn, for the fifteeth time and this night these thoughts crossed my mind.

How many islamic troops are here in our country now and how many would it actually take to inflict a real land war on the streets of New York, DC or Saint Louis. I asked myself questions and I had some answers.

Where would they get the weapons?

Possible answer:

There are many weapons distributors in our country that have enough manufactured and imported guns ready to be sold to the public. These weapons can arm a few 100,000 troops. Many of the weapons can be modified in minutes to shoot fully automatic. The weapons are kept in non-military warehouses and local gun dealers stores right in your communities. If Terriost want them they could get them and fend off the local police at the same time. Already these poeple are suicidal and can kill thousands of communities before our soldiers can deploy. I'm sure they would smuggle other weapons, like grenades and portable rocket launchers to aid in thier attack.

How would they get here?

We are having a hard time stopping thousand of latinos from crossing the border; how hard would it be to get 10,000 islamic suicidal soilders to a few major cities around the country. How many are already here acting like citizens and may even be stockpiling weapons like many of our known militant groups.

Who would they attack?

You and me! During our daily activites the attack would kill thousands. Our home defense weapons would not be enough to fend off a troop invasion as small as it would be, our local police would take major casulties and would not rebound.

Why would they attack?

I think this kind of invasion would be more effective than the so called dirty bomb. This would put them face to face with real americans right in thier natural habitat. And who knows the Chinese may even help alone with Korea and Iran.

Are we really prepared and can we prevent this from happening? Does this sound like a realistic possiblilty? If not please tell why.

One more question and this one may not seem relative but it is. Is Walmart the last American owned business or corporation. Who really owns the rest? Who really owns walmart?

da_opposition - They're already here! They're running all over West County already. And it wouldn't take 10,000 of them to bring this country to its knees. It could be done with no more than 50 people.

I will stridently disagree with you that weapons sold in sporting goods stores and at gun shows can be "converted to full automatic in a matter of minutes." Even if they were full-automatic so what? The number of people who are capable and know how to USE one are few and far between outside of current US military and veterans.

Should something actually happen, you can count on the police to write a dandy report and count the bodies. You can count on Homeland Security to try and find legal reasons that the homes of the terrorists could not be searched because they have 'rights.'

I would suggest that your scenario is highly improbable. What I do expect to see is coordinated attacks on 'soft targets' in different parts of the country by small numbers of insurgents. The ensuing impact of the economy would be huge as there would be no easily defined enemy for us to counter.

Whatever happens, even a Red Dawn scenario, I believe the American citizens will handle it. Notice I didn't say the government would. If the downhill trend continues in this country, we'll eventually see a revolution. And it won't be pretty!

Another point for the 2nd Amendment. The citizens would stop an insurgency like this.
Every deer hunter in the area would be a sniper. An automatic weapon is not quite as effective as a 150 yard shot from a trained hunter.
Keep our right to bear arms intact.
This is not in conflict with my pro-life stance. Nowhere are we called to sacrifice our families lives and freedoms.

Who owns Wal-Mart? China. On paper, Wal-Mart may be owned by red-blooded Americans, but without China, they'd have nothing to sell. As long as Wal-Mart chooses to do such extensive business with China, China's got them by the walnuts and we get substandard products and new recalls every other day. I don't shop at Wal-Mart, except as an absolute last resort. Last time I was in one was in August for a school supply that I foolishly waited too long to buy and everyone was out of it except Wally-World. Before that, I can't even remember when I was in there. (And yes, I don't shop there for Christmas, either.)

kcpirana
wal-mart sells the same things that all the other stores sell but at a lower price because they are able to purchase in volume to save money. if you don't shop at wal-mart because of the reasons you stated, you need to stop shopping at target, k-mart, officemax/depot, lowes and home depot, schnucks dierbergs and shop n save.

your story of school supplies, sorry i don't buy it. you mean to say target, k-mart, officemax, office depot, grocery stores, school supply stores, none of these had the items you needed so last resort was wal-mart??? i just don't buy it.

recalls don't happen because wal-mart sells a certain item. recalls happen because the company that sells the items to ALL RETAILERS had products made cheaper and from other countries.

by the way last week wednesday through sunday, i was at wal-mart probably 3 times. only one was a special trip there the other two were because on my way home and very convenient for what i needed PLUS a lot cheaper for what i needed.

Flaglady, that's great for you. I choose to not shop at Wal-Mart for many reasons, including their hand-in-pocket relationship with China. Many other places also sell products made in China, but don't have the effect that Wal-Mart has had on many communities. If you choose to shop there, great, I don't feel the need to attack you for it, but I also have the right to my opinion. If there were two Wal-Marts on your way home, then probably they had run out of business most of the other stores that were originally on your route.

As for my school supply incident, buy it, don't buy, I don't care. I don't know who you are, but you need to chill. OfficeMax and Target were out, it wasn't a grocery store type of school supply (did I say it was for the primary grades? I don't think so.) The other stores you list didn't apply. I had a time crunch and did have to run in Wal-Mart. If push comes to shove, I've said I've gone in there, but it's not going to be you doing the pushing, ma'am.

I do not think you could count on the common man to handle an invasion. The shock of it would not wear off in time for them to do anything. The advadtage we would have is the sheer size of the USA. Invading every region of the country would be impossible.
Now, if it was a combination of invasion and a nuclear strike it could work to a point. You would need the resources of Russia or China to succeed. Or at least I would hope so.

And dannbetty, not to totally disagree with you, for I am a big fan of the 2nd ammendment. The weapon they would most likely use would be an AK-47 or AK-74. Both have effective ranges of well over 600 yards. IF, an invasion like this would ever happen, which I doubt for my reasons above, they would have to strike us with massive force for it to have any lasting effect. They would most certainly come in with tanks, strike aircraft and well trained troops.
Your deer hunters would die quite fast I am afraid. War is not clean in anyway. Civilians die in higher numbers than soldiers. Mostly out of false ideas that they can make a difference by attacking. We call them cannon fodder.

Why did I know the women would make this a walmart shopping thing, my point was this.

The other day I was conversating about the christmas tree story with lowes calling it a family tree instead of christmas tree, and the person responded that the stores are not owned by americans anymore and that made me think.

Arabs and others who don't celebrate Christmas are running our retail industry now. I added walmart because I did not see thier christmas add, but the ones I did see didn't call them anything but trees. I didn't see the word Christmas any of the adds relative to the trees or sales for that matter. If red blooded americans are falling for this remove religion for everything then the Islamics are winning.

Just a few years in LA two men armed with fullauto AKs held the LA PD at bey. If these two men were on a different ajenda, they could have massacred dozens, maybe even hundreds.

Do Jewish people celebrate Christmas? Yes, when the do inventory in January. Mechany, I disagree with your estimation that an AK-47 or AK-74 would be acurate at ranges out to 600 yerds. Neither the 7.62X39, nor the 5.45X39 have the accuracy or power to be long range weapons of choice. The 7.62X54, on the other hand is effective, along with 7.62X51 (308), 30/06, and many other high power calibers. I can hit consistantly at ranges out to and including 800 yards witha Romanian Sniper Rifle and a 4 power Russian sniper scope. The scope is calibrated out to 1100 yards but I haven`t been able to clear that much brush yet to get a range that far. The possibility of a Red Dawn scenario is less likely as an attack on our financial system through counterfeiting, stock market frauds which cause major drops in the market, and general disruption, which costs money from every sector of our population. The threat of anthrax cost Americans billions of dollars before we recovered from it, and there was less evidence of anthrax than there was threats.

So, if the terrorists want to create a disturbance, they know they`re being listened to and watched, all they have to do is to get a rumor started about a chemical threat to say, the Lambert Airport, and every flight in and out of St. Louis will be searched, costing millions in lost time and labor. Do this in three cities and you have crippled the airlines all over the U.S. Plus, you don`t get arrested because you didn`t do anything! You are free to get more rumors started. City and State governments will be hiring more security personel again, costing us money we don`t have. More debt, more dissention, more problems. It`s not as fast as an all out war, but just as effective.

They do not have to be accurate. You have an automatic weapon, accuracy is secondary. Both rounds have the ability to kill at 600 yards, assuming a twig does not get in the way. You put a full clip in the air you are bound to hit something. Heck, even the .223 round used in the M-16 or M-4 can kill at 500 yards. Again, not with any accuracy just by sheer numbers.
And you are right about the rumor mill or cyber attacks. Both would be easier and alot more effective.

Mech,

I personally don't see an all man invasion consisting of all militia trained men. I see a group of trigger pullers similiar to idiots on the STL streets who hurt, kill, and mame thousands every year.

There effectivness can be measured by some of the recent shooting we have had like the one on the college campus. Multiply the number of shooters with the number shot and maybe you come up with a close enough number to measure the effect something like this could have on our country.

Well now you are talking terrorist style operations. There is absolutley no way to protect ourselves against that. If enough operations could be done at the same time the damage done could be pretty bad. We would recover, but at what cost?

Changing a semi-automatic weapon from semi to full automatic isn`t just a matter of changing a few parts. In most cases it takes a skilled craftsman to do the work. I can buy full automatic weapons that have been de-milled and use those parts to change my AK-47s so they have full automatic parts, but they would not operate in that mode. Machining and fitting is necessary to convert these weapons. Not that a semi-skilled person couldn`t do it, but is it worth the risk of getting caught with these weapons? Get caught and you`re looking at ten years in prison without doing anything more than having one of these weapons in your possession. The threat of computer viruses and other disruption in our lives would be more dramatic than military attacks. An unseen enemy is worse than a physical entity.

Da op

If an invasion were to occur and multi story building were being torch the Local Fire depts couldn't handle the conflagration whole large urban cities would burn until they burnt themselves out. this would include single family residential areas. the only way for this country to survived is to remove all people who are not citizen of this country. Then we need to shoot on site those who cross over our boards uninvited. this would minimize lots of damage but not eliminate it.

A cyber attack is more likely. The actual act of boots on the ground (Red Dawn style), wouldn't be plausable until the infastructure was crippled.
But, as Chickenkiller stated, they are already here in cells across the country waiting for the word, Even if it were a drive-by style operation.
CLOSE THE BORDERS AND DEPORT THOSE THAT ARE HERE.

Pray for our Armed Forces standing in harm’s way around the world, and for their families, especially families of those fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, who granted their lives in defense of American liberty.
