Rev. Wright keeps saying the white American slave owners. Who of you out there owns a slave or ever owned one? Speak up and be heard. Also did he forget it was his forefathers, the Africans in Africa gathering up their own people and selling them into slavery? So why isn't he going after them? And what is he saying when he was a slave? How old is he? He doesn't show his age I'll give that to him. In order to have been a slave he has to be over 100 years old. I am so sick of people who want to use something that happened so many years ago as a basis of hate today. If you want to say you are mad at what was done years before you were born then lay it at the feet of all guilty, the African tribes, the slaverers and the whites that bought them, and then give credit to the many white Americans who died to free his people years ago. But some how Rev. Wright forgets that part of history. Alot of people forget that part of history. It is too easy to blame all of one race instead of a few. It is just as wrong to blame or think all blacks think like Rev. Wright. It is just sad that a person would teach such poison to people. As long as we have KKK's and Rev. Wrights, and skin heads and etc. we have hatred. Bury the past it can not be changed. Move forward not backwards. Next will be the Government paid Rev Wright to say and do what he did so Obama would not get elected.

You are so right here gimini. The part of my family that were here during slavery were Native Americans. The rest didn't come over until after slavery was abolished and were pretty much "white slave labour" themselves. Sorry Rev. Wright (or maybe Rev. Wrong), don't look at me or my family as white American slave owners; didn't happen.

The point is none of us owned a slave. Most of our forefathers didn't oun a slave, and alot of our forefathers died to free the slaves so how do you blame a whole race?

Why is it that whenever slavery is discussed that it is the US that gets singled out? Long before slave traders brought black men and women to the US colonies other countries had a long history of slavery. But you never hear about England, Spain, and the many other countries engaged in the slave trade and use of slaves before the US.

The slaves brought from Africa were men and women that, for the most part, were captured during tribal wars, and if not sold into slavery, would have been killed by their captors (their own people). By purchasing these men and women, the slaver traders saved their lives. They were then transported to other countries where the traders resold them recouping their initial cost and the cost of transportation and a small profit. In new lands these men and women were given jobs, food, roofs over their heads and allowed to live and raise a family. As captives in their own country none of this would have happened; if not killed, their fait would have been as bad, if not worse than what they found in other lands. From a revisionist viewpoint, and in a perverse sort of way, it could be said that the slave traders were actually angles of mercy.

I’m tired of the US shouldering all the blame. Why isn’t the African community outraged by the actions of Africa, then and now? No, instead, they take pride in their African heritage and hyphenate themselves saying they are “African-Americans” as though being from a country that sold its own people into slavery is something to be proud of. White Americans live with the guilt of slavery here, where is the gu

I feel no guilt. I never owned a slave. I never sold a slave and I will never buy a slave so I feel no guilt.

Personally I think if they lived in Africa right now there is a 50/50 chance they would be dead, living in a hut, or dying of aids. Africa has progressed some but most tribes are still living rough.

I am a reformed democrat now republican and mother of 5, have 10 grandchildren and one greatgrand child. I have lived all over the US and love to sit on docks and fish. Waiting for the big one. I love my family and a good joke, reading and painting. My siblings all think I need to be taken care of as do my children and I'm the oldest so don't know why. I watch Fox 4 News because you are about the fairest all around on T.V.
