Privatized Health Care Costs are Hurting Individual Americans and Their Families

The people of the United States pay MORE for healthcare than in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and other European countries with Universal Health Care

Take a look at these disturbing numbers!

the only people that are against the socialized health care in europe and canada style are the american politicians with their hands in the insurance and pharmasutical companys pockets and the people who listen to their propaganda.

there should actually be a mix of socialized and private practice but to get your private practice you must prove yourself by being public first. but if we legalize hemp and tax all aspects of it we could pay for health care in america. i dont just mean hemp for recreation but as fiber, food, and recreation. if i was a colombian drug lord i would rather pay a $10million import tax rather than lose $20million to DEA every year

What annoys me most about this privatized health care is that hardworking American citizens are paying big bucks for even the most simple treatments, meanwhile in Iraq American tax dollars are paying for them (which you must imagine includes the terrorist) to get free health care.

So really, not only are we paying once, but twice for health care.

I'm not going anywhere!

If you don't like it, CHANGE IT!

"You did see where Teddy Chose for his Brain Surgery, right?"-Hdrider

Yeah, and that's because he can afford it, most Americans can not!

I had to go two months without heart medication thanks to Humana's messup.

So even people WITH privatized health insurance can't get a fair shake under the current system.

i'm wondering gorbash, if physician's services is only 22%, what is the "other" that is 71%?

could it be blood tests, x rays, prescriptions, hospital services, casts, stitches, surgeons, ICU charges, hospital bed stays, etc etc

most insurance policies cover those things and more.............THAT must be what that 71% is!

so, what's your point?

werener, really? how did that happen? please elaborate

Humana screwed me. They claimed that my insurance was dropped for failure to pay a bill that they never even gave me. It was only for $22, and I even sent it in after they told me to. THEN, they didn't hook me up the following month even after I paid. They claimed that I needed to close that account and start a new one. Another month. This system stinks. I just graduated with a bachelor degree, and I'll hopefully get a decent enough job to get my own insurance. Well, Obama is talkin' about chang. Bring it, please!!

I would wouldn't be surprised if that other 71% is mark-up, Medications are often marked up 200% in some cases from what it cost to make them.

Has anyone ever talk with someone from those countries about their quality of health care.
Everyone that have talk to from England and Canada say that their health care is very poor.

Maybe we can learn something about their health systems.

hitt, then that would be the companies that make the medications, not the insurers. and yes, they do mark their product up, they CLAIM that they use the money for research & such. i'm sure they DO use some of the markup for that, but i'll bet most of it goes in someone's pockets. LOL

awwww werner, that really stinks. i hated humana when i had them.......they were a royal pain in the butt!

good for you on the bachelor's degree......

I've heard both claims that free health care is not quality health care, but also claims that it is quality. Well this is America, so I think it is possible for free health care to be good.

I think that if universal health care was so bad, then why have countries in Europe and Asia had them for so long?

You would think they would switch to a different system, yet they haven't!

Maybe it isn't as bad as George W. Bush and the Republicans say it is!

Maybe Universal Health Care could actually work, right here in the great U.S. of A!

If every other industrial nation can have Universal Health care, why can't we?

I think we can do it.

We can do it!

But first we must defeat the Republican Conservatives in the White House and Congress, so CHANGE can come for all Americans!

A proud Liberal, and a proud Atheist, I don't make excuses for who and what I am, and i will fight back against the Pat Robertsons, Glen Becks, James Dobsons of the world, but I won't lay off the the Ayatollahs or Mullahs either. I will push for radical change, against Theocracy and for Secularism and Atheism, against Free Market Capitalism and for Socialism, against Dogma and for Free thought. I will fight against the Right Wing and against Conservatism.
