Recently a lady got a flat tire in front of our house. We live on a 55mph road at a dangerous intersection. My son told her to pull her van in our driveway. She hesitated at first, but then my son told her he was afraid a truck would go by and hit her. (we have alot of semi traffic) To make a long story short, after the lady's husband got here and changed her tire she tried to hand my son money. She told me he was so nice, concerned about her safety, and even brought our baby goat out of it's pen to entertain the 3 kids she had with her. My son refused the money, several times. We simply told her next time she can help someone- that will be payment for our help. It's one of those times when I'm very proud of my son. Wouldn't it be nice if the whole world treated each other the way they would like to be treated?

You deserve a pat on the back for raising such a wonderful child. Wish there were more parents like you.

Thanks for the compliments. Sometimes I look at my kids and think "WOW what did I do right??" LOL It makes all the sleepless nights and worries through out their childhood well worth it to see they have grown into wonderful adults.

The world is like this in so many ways. If we live our lives doing things for others we get the joy of helping. I find people I come in contact respond in kind when you have done something nice. Your son has such a great start in his life. That experience will make him seek out another opportunity to help because he experienced genuine appreciation for his kindness. I see the world the way your son does and it always comes back to me in so many wonderful ways. Good job mom.

I am a homemaker. I hope to start breeding goats in the spring. I have 2 alpines, 1 nigerian dwarf, 1 pygmy, and on mix goat. My children are grown, so now my goats are my "kids".
