It amazes me that people who are of age to vote find it necessary to post offensive cartoons and photos.  Do they realy think this is the way to convert others to thier way of thinking?  We complain about children and teens having no respect. (I wonder where they learn this from)  I understand alot of people want change, but why not try to achieve that change by calmly discussing the issues?  I know there are some who will say they have tried the calm approach, but the aggressive disrespect makes it hard to take people seriously.

good idea gyro but the calm approach doesn't work when you are dealing with narcissists who think that they and their thoughts are infallable.

also, all credibility goes out the window when someone's stories don't match up......"what a tangled web we weave when we first practice to decieve"

i've been reading alot of these & the path some use to connect things that don't connect is worrysome

I agree. I don't like it either. I just think that kind of mentality isn't going to get anyone anywhere. And I to will not tend to consider someone who can't maintain civility.

I usualy don't comment on any political blogs. It's funny, the people who scream free speech are the first to attack when someone excercises that right.

Yes I would tend to agree with that too.

gyro you hit that on the head lol the screamers are usually screaming so loud so that they are the only one heard. that way, no one can disagree with them.

I think that this post would be alot more credible if it was coming from someone who didn't have Hybrid Talk's blog on their Favorits list!

Hybrid Talk consistently denegrates liberals, Christians who he disagrees with, Immigrants, Muslims, Atheists, and other groups of people that he dislikes.

Also Hybrid Talk is in the habit of preaching non stop- with massive comments simply listing chapters in the Bible that don't appear to have any bearing or relation to the subject matter of the post- Yet I have yet to hear Gyro Jumpter, Klh, or Mimi complain at all about that blogger.

This is an obvious case of a double standard, of people who are Republican or Conservative attempting to hold one standard for Right Wing Bloggers (Hybrid Talk) and another for left wing bloggers (bloggers like myself)

now gorbash, there you go gorbashing hybrid again through the back door. play nice now lol

where do you see a double standard? seems to me this blog was a statement in general am i missing something?

Gorbash- Not that I have to explain anything to you, but I added Hybrid to my favorites after I responded to one of his blogs so I could keep up on it.
I'm not downing ANYBODY! I try to respect everyone, and everyone's opinion. I'm tired of the rude, obnoxios people who do nothing but slam each other. Why don't you read MY blogs and not base your opinions on who is on my favorites list.

Fair enough then, I apologize, I misunderstood your post.

Not a problem Gorbash.
I was saying, democrats or republicans - the cartoons and some remarks are very offensive. Mutual respect is needed. I will gladly listen to your views, or anyone else's. I have never put down anyone for thier political beliefs. I agree with some republican stands and some democrats stands. I tend to lean towards republicans but I do not put myself in a box where I will not even consider someone else's opinion. I tune out disrespectful people. That's all I was saying.

Political satire is older than our country, and these editorial cartoons and propaganda posters are here to stay.

I know what you're saying, though. If you've been around these blogs long enough, you've heard me speak of the "venom" that both sides spit toward each other, and the progress that the government loses because of it.

You're right Erock. Sometimes the satire just goes a little too far.
The world is going to hell in a handbasket. What we realy need to do is go back to basics. Teach our children by example. Listen, Learn, and try to make things better. I know - I live in a fantasy land thinking that may be possible one day, but can we afford to give up hope on our country, our youth and ourselves?

I sense an EXTREME BIAS in the bloggers here. HybridTalk and Mr. KIielbasa have posted NUMEROUS stories, cartoons and jokes poking fun at the Democrats. NO RESPONSE! Just a few LOLs and positive comments. I post some photos poking fun at Bush and what he REALLY did, and I'm attacked by Mr. Kielbasa. Typical Republican hypocrisy. It's OK to call Democrats anti-American, which is not true; but it's not OK to point out that Bush IGNORED the victims of Hurricane Katrina FOR A WEEK!! Even the news media responded sooner. Those of you who understand political humor, thank you. Erock said it best at 9:33. The rest of you Republicans and Republican sympathizers, GET OVER YOURSELVES!! If you're going to make the jokes, learn to take jokes. And I really don't laugh at Bush all that much. I would laugh alot more at Bush if so many people were not dying becasue of him.

True, in reality there is nothing funny about Bush.

I would gladly stop parody and farce political posts- if only others would- but I'm not going to be the first, and I simply cannot trust the "other side" to do that.

Every two to three weeks there is another Anti-Hillary blog, or an Anti-Gay "agenda" blog (gay agenda is to be treated as equals), or Democrats are traitors and terrorist sympahtizers-

For those who do those type of blogs, know this: you are not the only one who can do negative attack posts! I'd prefer to do positive posts on issues that I believe in (I concentrate on issues, not candidates) but once the primaries are over I will go into high gear to counter any attack posts and will match and top anything that the "other side" puts out.

Gorbash come on. Is that a threat? I'm sorry. It's not that I don't believe you because I do. But I have to say I think that kind of stuff is ridiculous.

polarbear - re-read the this blog. I never said democrats were the guilty party! It's both, and I for one am tired of it. I do have a sense of humor- I've raised 2 children, and anyone with kids knows you have to learn to laugh along the way.
Gorbash - you proved my point for me -"but I'm not going to be the first". In order for any change to take place somebody has to be "first".
Until people learn to work together and compromise the world will continue it's downward spiral.
Like I said, it all goes back to lack of respect.

Again, if I was the first to stop, the other side would just laugh at my mistake and take advantaged.

klh- Yes that is a threat, if people post anti-Democrat smear posts, I will have to respond just as hardcore as they do.

Gorbash - the weight of this situation does not lie on your shoulders, nor should it. No body wants to be the first to stop. I admire the fact that you have strong convictions, you just come off a little strong sometimes for me. I don't think the government is going to change the way it serves the people until we as a people learn to respect one another. Look at alot of the youth of today - these are the people who will be running our country one day, and that is a scary thought.
I agree with alot of republican stands, but that does not make me a racist, biggot, gay bashing, right wing christian war monger. You realy cannot judge a person soley on their political beliefs.

I think a strong case can be made that certain conservative positions on many issues are untenable, specifically torture, preemptive war, and the simultaneous support for the death penalty while being against abortion.

I agree that people should be more respectful, however that isn't working as it once was, probably due to the nature of competitive media (capitalism again).

I believe that corporate/private media companies will simply sell or spin a story in whatever way allows them to make profit through advertising dollars- meaning that reasonable positions are shouted down by the most extreme elements because this gets better ratings than actually looking at specific legislation and government policies.

I am a homemaker. I hope to start breeding goats in the spring. I have 2 alpines, 1 nigerian dwarf, 1 pygmy, and on mix goat. My children are grown, so now my goats are my "kids".
