It seems that the 'controversial' filmmaker has opened his mouth and inserted his foot again. Maybe we should make him sell his shares in Haliburton? Perhaps make him come clean about the 59 lies contained in his slanted documentary  'Fahrenheit  911? Anyway, here's is his latest classless rant...

From:
Business & Media Institute, By Jeff Poor ...

Sometime you really have wonder at what cost some are willing to see their political ideology advanced.

To liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, the bounds are seemingly endless. Moore has made a recent career out of attacking President George W. Bush, bashing conservatives and criticizing business. His latest outrage occurred on MSNBC’s August 29 “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and when he commented about the coincidental timing of an unfortunate disaster – the potential for Hurricane Gustav to make landfall at the beginning of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,” Moore said, laughing. “To have it planned at the same time – that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities – at the top of the Mississippi River.”

After that comment, Moore backed off a bit and did say he hoped nobody got hurt and he hoped everybody is taking cover. However, he failed to make note of the $43.625 billion in damage the last hurricane to strike New Orleans caused – Hurricane Katrina in 2005 – and the billions of dollars the storm cost taxpayers.

Moore also took the opportunity to take a dig at President George W. Bush and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain.

“I can’t see what you showed,” Moore said to “Countdown” host Keith Olbermann about a video clip including Bush and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. celebrating McCain’s birthday. “I don’t know if you showed the cake there that they had there, three years ago today – with McCain and Bush. When Marie Antoinette – when she said, ‘Let them eat cake,’ I think she was speaking figuratively. They literally were while New Orleans was drowning – eating cake. So, it’s, um, I don’t know – let’s hope things get better.”

Olbermann, whose opinions tend to fall on the same far left end of the ideological spectrum as Moore, said it was even weirder than Moore observed. Olbermann said “one of” Focus on the Family preachers connected to Chairman Dr. James Dobson’s was allegedly calling for everyone to pray for rain during Sen. Barack Obama’s Democratic convention speech.

Moore told Olbermann he feared McCain would continue the wars that we are in and would start a new one with Iran. He defended Iran’s aggressive tactic with nuclear weapons by suggesting that if Iran invaded Mexico and Canada, as we had with Iraq and Afghanistan, even he and Olbermann would “build whatever we could do defend ourselves.”

Both Olbermann and Moore were full of praise for Obama’s speech and Moore chalked McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to cynicism on part of the Republican Party.

Moore has been a crusader for socialized health care in the United States, especially with his 2007 documentary “SiCKO.” Moore depicted the health care systems used in Canada, France, the United Kingdom and the communist nation of Cuba as what the United States should have – an expensive taxpayer-funded health care system.

Is it a surprise to anyone  that this occured on the Keith Olberman show?

"Every fact in my films is true. And yet how often do I have to read over and over again about supposed falsehoods? The opinions in the film are mine. They may not be true, but I think they are."

– Michael Moore in Time magazine interview, May 28, 2007

He THINKS they are, LOL

EVERY "documentary" that Michael Moore has made is not a TRUE documentary, as you are supposed to roll the camera and everything should be shown that was filmed whether you like the particular outcome or path that the documentary is taking you. It should be with NO EDITING, just a progression of facts or events.
BUT Michael Moore’s "documentaries" are HEAVILY edited, there for it is not fact but the fiction that floats around in his vacuous brain.
And when he “wishes” that Hurricane Gustav would hit New Orleans again, with the amount of money and lives that were lost, the amount of blood, sweat, and tears to rebuild, the loss that was involved, it goes to show everyone what a complete EVIL MORON Michael Moore is. With the horrible ill will he wishes on the city of Nola, and on anyone who does not have the same convictions as his diseased mind, I hope Karma is taking note, and gives it back to him

And a huge laugh for me is when (PMS)MSNBC tries to pass off Keith Olbermann's show - Countdown and Chris Matthew's show HARDBALL (I like to refer to it as either BLUE BALLS or NOBALLS) as a legitimate news show. Jon Stewart's show - The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert's show - Colbert Report NOW!, both on COMEDY CENTRAL have more creditability as a true news show than either Olbermann's or Matthew's shows. Both Stewart and Colbert know that they are tongue in cheek, but I almost wet myself when Olbermann and Matthew's try to pass themselves off as creditable journalists.

The man is an ugly, vile and ignorant man. Most of the people who follow him, have the same scowl on their faces and make the same sort of insane comments. His latest one trying to put some sort of coincidence with the arrival of Gustav with the Republican Convention should prove to the world how truly sick and evil this ugly bastard really is. I mean, if God has sent Gustav to screw up the Gulf Coast because of the Republican Convention... a person who thinks as this Moore character (he doesn't deserve the respect of Mr.) could argue... that God, used Katrina to as Political Population Control as Louisiana is predominately Demorcrat. He is an idiot and one day he is going to start wagging his 15 ft tongue and get on the wrong side of a East Texas Redneck.

I witnessed, first hand, the evacuee's of Katrina. I saw the desperation, the panic, the hopelessness. I sat in my car and cried as I saw miles and miles of school buses pass me on the Highway, full of people who had lost everything being shuttled into a big City where they know one. I watched little kids trying to comfort their parents and spent many days in the Dallas Convention Center trying to help what seemed to be a never ending sea of evacuee's who stepped off those buses with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, some without shoes and many without much identification. I heard their cries, I saw their devastation and total bewilderment. I didn't see Democrat's or Republican's... I saw American's who a few days before were just like me and my family. Do I think God was punishing New Or

New Orleans.... No. I believe in a loving God and while catastrophies happen and do all of the time, it is OUR charge as AMERICAN'S.... not political foes, to stand up and do what we can for our brothers and sisters because regardless of the color of their skin or how they vote.... they are our American family and we take care of each other.

I do not know where Gustav will land what I do know is, he is coming.... and living in a Gulf Coast State, we are already preparing for him, we are not sitting around wishing his wrath on any particular area or on any particular people..... Texas stands prepared to serve additional evacuee's if necessary or tend to our own if he slams into the Texas Coast- Moore and his minion of evil can wish all he wants on people, one day he may be the one in need and he may find himself SOL.

Dallas began preparing for thousands of evacuee's last week, our Convention Center is set up for several thousand and we have citizens of all races and political parties standing by to step up and help as much as they can.... that is America and while this creep goes around spreading his poison, he is STILL in the minority... the Majority rules so he can kiss our ass.

Drive-Bys Hoping Gustav Hits New Orleans

RUSH: By the way, you know the Drive-Bys -- and this is sad to say -- but these Drive-Bys are just dying. They can't wait for this Hurricane Gustav to hit wherever it's going to hit in Louisiana. It's almost sick to see them out there. "Really, this is so unbelievable! This is happening three years after Katrina! It may hit again! Yaaaaay!"

Sorry, I don't mean to cheer. But they want this Hurricane to illustrate the incompetence of Republicans again, that's going to backfire on them with Governor Jindal down there running things, already. If you put a conservative Republican in charge of a state rather a couple liberal Democrats like Nagin and Blanco, you're going to see the difference if this happens. But while Drive-Bys and the Democrats are keeping a sharp eye out on Hurricane Gustav, category three; Hurricane Sarah struck the Democrats and made landfall today as a category ten and global warming had nothing to do with it! And I would have loved for Senator McCain to say today, "All right, Governor Palin and I are hitting the campaign trail now. We think that Senator Obama should head to Louisiana and stop Hurricane Gustav."

Wow Guns, well written! Needless to say, I agree! Totally!

Stylegal. i agree with all of your statements also. MSNBC is a disgrace to professional journalism. General Electric should do a mercy killing on that cluster---k! Or, at least, just do 24 Hrs. a day of prison-life programs.

BTW, I'm sure Jindal will do a much better job that Blanco or Nagin if Gustav strikes NOLA (God forbid), how can you do worse? They did absolutely NOTHING!!

Oh they did something. They blamed it on FEMA and the President. I certainly have my issues with Dubya but blaming him for the response to Katrina was kind of foolish. I had the privilage of attending a FEMA/State conference around 1993. Even then, they made it clear that New Orleans had invested literlly nothing into their preparation. Their point with that statement was to advise ALL cities that they were directly responsible for their preparations and safety. FEMA is typically a response unit. They stated that the Orleans Levee District, who were responsible for repair and upkeep, were underfunded. Translation, the city made budget cuts to that dept for other 'programs'.

Surge,

It always amazes me that they did basically nothing to prepare for Katrina. How can you live in an area that is below sea level, surrounded by bodies of water (one of which is among the top hurricane pumps in the entire world) and leave your emergency plan in the drawer? After you practiced it a year before Katrina struck?

In my opinion, preparation is the key. If Blanco and Nagin had done Half of what Jindal and Nagin are currently doing, how much would that have lessened Katrina's devastation? (in lives, at least)

I remember seeing shows on the educational channels as far back as the early nineties about the possible devastation that a major hurricane could wrek upon NOLA. And yet, they were totally unprepared, and I'm not talking about just the levee's. They have known for thirty years that those levee's could fail in the face of a major hurricane, and they put monies into 'other programs'?

Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson, cause it looks (at the present time) that they are going to suffer a right front quadrant hit from Gustav, and that is the strongest part of a hurricane. God help them.

"In my opinion, preparation is the key" ....Amen to that. With a hurricane, whether it's East Coast or Gulf Coast routed, you have several days warning and people of all races and political views should take the warnings seriously. Here in good ole Tornado Trail Texas, we are given a few hours notice of a good old fashioned tornado, they have radars now that can track it almost to the minute it will be visiting your neighborhood. Not too many places you can go in Texas with just a few hours notice,,,, that you aren't STILL in Texas and STILL in the Tornado pathway, so you just have to keep yourself prepared at home. From 1st grade on, Texas school children are drilled regularly with Tornado drills, just as they are drilled with fire drills. I have many relatives in Louisiana and know that when mandatory evacuations take place both sides of the highway are northbound only, you cannot go southbound and I promise you, my family and I would have already left the area and moved to higher ground... like Arkansas :)

They should roll old Michael Moore - the blubber butt, and put him on top of the levees, the storm waters would bounce off all of that blubber, and stay out of the city of Nola
Finally a use for him and his old blubber butt

This one could be far worse damage wise. Folks have to consider that Katrina's damage to New Orleans was a rain issue that overwhelmed a few weak levee spots. This time the water will be coming directly from the mash....major issue.

I was majoring in Meteorology for a while in Salisbury when that conference happened. They identified the Delmarva Peninsula as another potentially devestating area. Of course VA Beach and Manhatten where the other points of interest.

There are stretches along Rt1 between Dewey beach and Ocean City MD. where you can almost throw a rock from the ocean to the bay. I think that it flooded ocean to bay in spots back in the 30's. Of course, there is a lot more development in those area's now, A LOT more.

Those marshlands have shrunk over time. if New Orleans suffers a right front quadrant hit from this, those marsh's won't be able to absorb much of the storm surge. The RFQ surge from Katrina was 30 FEET!!! (in Mississippi)

Guns...."I'll wup yo *ss till it go back up!"...LMAO!!

They should take Moore up in on of those hurricane hunter aircraft...and DROP him!! That would cause some shear.

Isn't that funny Jimbo.. that is my favorite line in that recording too. I also enjoy the one about "what you need gas for b*tch, you from the tribe... put those big 15 feet on the pavement and run!"

I have been up this afternoon at the West Mesquite High School parking lot, it is about a mile and a half from my house. Mesquite will be processing the Louisiana evacuee's and then they will be bussed over to Dallas (12 miles away) to the Convention Center in Dallas where they will be placed until this thing is over. They will have beds, food and TV's to watch. We are still 400 volunteer's short, the news stations have scrolling broadcast messages asking for more volunteers by tomorrow AM. My husband and I will be working through the night, we are expecting the first wave of NOLA evacuee's by midnight. We are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, it would be great to see Labor Day start with a big ole false alarm with Gustav but we are hearing that he is intensifying by the hour.

A destiny has made us brothers, no one goes his way alone. All that we put into the lives of others, comes back into our own.....

Ya'll remember to say an extra prayer for our neighbors in Mississippi & Louisiana.

Happy Labor Day! It's a beautiful day in Texas but we know the rain clouds are coming later, compliments of Gustav. Jimbo we saw about 800 evacuee's overnight, I worked with the elderly and disabled, which arrived with national guard escorts. We also saw about 30 - 40 personal vehicles full of families who had come to the area... everyone had to be registered and then we assigned them out to various shelters in the metroplex, all in all there are about 18 shelters situated in and around Dallas, with the Convention Center being the largest one. It was very orderly and the people getting off those buses... some had been on the road 14 - 17 hours, were tired and hungry and concerned about their stuff back home but we tried to make it as comfortable for them as possible. Lots of faith based programs out there to help lend a comforting shoulder and some compassionate words with them. They are expecting 14 - 17 more buses this morning and about 20 this afternoon. We are still hoping that these people will have homes to return to, it doesn't appear that it has been as intense as Katrina but it hasn't really had the chance yet to show us his guns.

" I think that it flooded ocean to bay in spots back in the 30's. Of course, there is a lot more development in those area's now, A LOT more"

Jim, my mother actually worked (retired now) for Somerset County Maryland for years. She had to sit in on all the commissions and emergency response meetings. Ocean City Maryland is a nightmare senario. First off, all people from Cape Charles north would likely have to trek north to route 50 to meet up with the OC traffic. The Bay Bridge Tunnell would likely close early and VA beach is certainly no place to evacuate to. They have long know, that the Peninsula could be a death trap in such situations.
The Nor' Easter of 1962 was a great example of how a minimal surge could be a major impact on the peninsula. The surge was only 6 feet but some had water to their second floors. Considering most of the water is extremely shallow on the shore, the potential for a major surge is there. A 10-15 foot surge would forever change the landscape (much like the 1938 hurricane did to Long Island).
For the record, the two storms that really nailed the Peninsula in the 1930's were the storms of 1933 and then 1936.
