I'm fairly certain the baby will be provided for financially, but no 16 year old is ready to be a mother. There is a whole span of development she hasn't even reached yet. I hope her mother and dare I say it her sister (in a more healthy frame of mind) will be very supportive.

Obviously. 16 is way too young to start having children but millions do worldwide, nonetheless. I had my first child (of course, my ex, Crystal did the heavy lifting!) at 22 and I was barely old enough. I did have a lot of practice because of my two younger brothers and in some ways, it is easier when you're young (try running after a toddler all day as you approach your 40s!). It really depends on the individual maturity of the parent. I don't know the young Spears, so I don't know where she is at mentally. Heck, I know women (and men) in their 40s who are not mature enough to have children! Being a parent changes everything about your life. Some people resent it and some people embrace it. I hope she is able to embrace it despite her age.

Well, hello Kathy and Merry Christmas,it's nice to read your reply, nad you to Daniel.
I have a 9 year old daughter who know's Britney and her sister well, she told me she read in the paper Jamie is pregnant, my reply was, there is no way in the world you will be thinking about that at 16. This smiling image that Jamie Spears gives shouldn't be in the front headlines, it's going to come across that everything is roses when you have a baby. And her mother wrote a book how to raise children, what is that a joke book.
Thanks for the replies.

I think the news part of the story was; she stated she was "shocked" she got pregnant! I would say that is typical teenage thinking (it will never happen to me). It also shows she isn't ready for a baby since the process of sex has eluded her.

Your right merrymakin, but it sad to see how that family has really tarnish an image of being so nice to complete lunacy.
