There's been a lot said and written about why Proposition 8 passed in California on election night.  I've heard numerous talking heads give their opinions as to just exactly why voters there turned back the State Supreme Court's attempt to force gay marriage down the throats of the people of California.  But, somewhere in all of this talk, the truth got lost.

I'm an ex-insider in the gay movement.  For many years I fought along side many other gay men and women in Dallas and around Texas for "equal rights" for homosexuals in this state.  I was a member of the board of directors of a prominent activist group here in Dallas/Ft. Worth and I lobbied members of the Texas State Legislature and the Texas delegation of the United States Congress.  All that to say, I've been there.  I've been involved in all of it.  So, I want to offer you the view of someone who was once on the inside.

Many of you will remember that years ago the word for the movement was "tolerance".  We (the movement) encouraged the teaching of tolerance in schools and homes.  We argued that if the world would only tolerate us and our choices that all would be well.  Gradually, this call for tolerance became one for "acceptance".  We wanted to be more than people who were simply tolerated.  We wanted to be accepted by those who were not like us.  Acceptance, we argued, would mean we were victorious in our struggle.  Soon, acceptance gave way to a demand for "equality".  Our movement switched gears from one that asked people to "live and let live" to one that required certain behaviors from those around us.

It was only out of this move for equality that the fight for gay marriage took wing.  In the early days, no one was talking about allowing gay couples to marry.  In fact, in the early days, there weren't many gay people who even wanted to be married.  Marriage was viewed as an outdated institution reserved for people without outdated ideas of human relationships and we wanted no part of it.  But, as the movement went from asking for tolerance to pushing for acceptance to demanding equality, it was realized that the fastest route was through this once maligned institution.  Marriage became the Holy Grail of the homosexual movement in the United States.

A careful look at the history of civil rights in this country will reveal that what these movements aim for are basic human rights and not special privileges.  They seek the right to sit in any seat on a public bus, to dine in any public restaurant, the right to vote or attend any school they wish.  The civil rights movement in this country did not seek any more than the ability to live life to the fullest!  The fight for gay marriage is not the fight for a civil right!

We place many restrictions on who can be married in this country.  Minors are not allowed to marry, direct family members are not allowed to marry, people in this country illegally are not allowed to marry in an attempt to remain here and it is illegal to marry more than one person at a time.  In many states there are waiting periods and requirements for pre-marital counseling before couples can be wed and some of these same states require couples wait and be counseled before getting divorced.  All of these restrictions are based on either moral grounds or on economic grounds.  It is a myth that the only restriction to marriage in the United States falls against homosexuals.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the fact of the matter is that there are very few truly monogamous gay relationships.  The couples you see who have been together for 10, 15 and 20 years are the exception and not the rule.  Many of these same people who now demand the right to marry will end up divorced in very short order.  That is the simple truth.

This fight is not about civil rights.  This fight is about a privilege and there is an enormous difference.  This country denies many privileges to many people for many reasons, most of them moral.  Contrary to what you may hear we choose to legislate morality every day.  The vast majority of our laws are an attempt to legislate morality.  That is why murder, rape, robbery, drunken driving and assault are all illegal.

We legislate morality because we are a nation founded on moral principles.  It is our right as a people to restrict certain privileges to certain individuals and it is our right to speak out against behavior that we find inconsistent with the moral prinsiples of our nation.  That is why I will join this fight against gay marriage wherever it rears itself.  That is why, as a ex-insider I will speak out against this attempt at the subversion of our rights to legislate ourselves as we see fit loudly and with vigor!

President-elect BHO held his first press conference Friday.  Fresh from successfully deceiving convincing 53% of the 30% of American voters who bothered to vote, to vote for him, BHO and his transition brain trust stood on a stage in front of blue curtains that looked as though they were purchased at a Dollar General store and several American flags all hung on flag poles with the inapproprate eagle sitting atop them.  I looked, but there was no sign of the "Rising O" symbol in the room.  (It's possible they're revamping that one for the innauguration.)

In what must have been an exhausting few minutes, BHO was pelted with questions regarding the important issues of the day such as what kind of dog he and MO would be purchasing for their children.  After an interminable setup that included talk of finding an hypoallergenic breed he finally delivered the "it can't be a mutt like me" punch line.  The attendant sycophants press corps was bowled over.

But, alas, his success didn't last long.  His next bit was set up perfectly by a butt kisser reporter asking if he'd consulted with any "living ex-presidents".  In response to this, Obama responded that he wouldn't be holding any "seances" like Nancy Reagan had done.  Except for the fact that it's completely untrue, this might have been funny 25 years ago when Nancy Reagan was not an 87 year old woman (private American citizen) in the hospital recovering from a broken hip.

***side note:  BHO's default seems to be going after private citizens - ie Joe the plumber and now Nancy Reagan.  The message - don't **** with BHO.***

After it became clear that his feeble attempt at tasteless humor didn't go over so well, BHO called Mrs. Reagan to offer what I'm sure must have been a heart felt apology.  And, according to the teenybopper fan writer of the article, the two had a "warm conversation".  I'm sure Mrs. Reagan was indeed charmed by him.  Let's just hope she's not using MediCare for her hospital stays since he's going to raise the taxes on her premiums.

I'm sure BHO will give it another try soon and no doubt his fan club the press will be right there to cheer him on!

I saw a headline today that made my soul sing and made my spirit dance for joy.  The BIG 'O' - Oprah Winfrey - is calling it quits in 2011!!  Although I haven't been able to open the link yet (I'm sure the web site is being bombarded with blubbering, pre-menopausal housewives who will no longer have anyone to tell them what to read or whom to vote for) I'm pretty sure the article probably says she feels as though her work is done.  After all, she was a senior partner in the successful duping of the American public and that's tiring work.

By waiting until 2011, Oprah is ensuring that she has enough time to prop up our newly elected Surrenderer-in-Chief and also has just enough time to get out while the gettin's still good after his miserable failure.  This is wonderful news.  Now, we can begin to unwind and undo the moral relativism she has spent the last twenty some odd years feeding an already over-stuffed bon bon munching, fluid retaining audience.

Rumor is that Harpo Productions is already looking for a replacement.  They're sponsoring a contest for viewers to make video tapes of themselves welling up and attempting to sing words to songs they really don't know.  So, you gals grab your Kleenex and your Stevie Wonder CD's and turn your video cameras on.  You could be the next yoyo dieting host of a nationally televised slumber party and bi**h session!!

With all of the seriousness of the past weeks, I thought I'd post something a little light-hearted this morning.  The good folks in the language department at Oxford University have compiled a list of the most irritating phrases in the English language.  You can read the entire article from the Telegraph here, but below are the top 10.  Perhaps some of you could name a few of yours and see how they stack up?

The top ten most irritating phrases:

1 - At the end of the day

2 - Fairly unique

3 - I personally

4 - At this moment in time

5 - With all due respect

6 - Absolutely

7 - It's a nightmare

8 - Shouldn't of

9 - 24/7

10 - It's not rocket science

I gotta say, having read them....I AGREE!!!

There's nothing sadder in the world than a sore loser...

....unless, of course it's a sore winner!

The presidential election of 2008 was November 4th - two days ago.  Yet, I continue to see stories from certain Obama Campaign Advisers media outlets savaging Sarah Palin.  Memo to the Obama Press Corps - THE ELECTION IS OVER AND YOUR GUY WON.  Sarah Palin is no longer a threat to you or Barak Obama.

Or is she?

I first thought the continued savaging of this decent woman was just a symptom of the mental illness suffered by all Marxists liberals "journalists".  But, then I thought perhaps not.  Perhaps the reason we are seeing all of these ridiculous, disgraceful and downright hateful stories about Sarah Palin AFTER THE ELECTION IS OVER AND BARAK OBAMA WON is because they know something they don't want anyone else to know.

What the Obama supporters in the mainstream media don't want you to know is that, contrary to their template, Sarah Palin energized a conservative base that was AT BEST lukewarm in its support of John McCain.  They know that without conservative enthusiasm over Sarah Palin, John McCain would have been treated to a TRUE landslide defeat.  He would likely have lost Georgia and Indiana in addition to Virginia and North Carolina and would have most certainly lost the popular vote by 10 or more percentage points.  Without Palin, conservatives would have sat this election out in droves.

The dirty little secret that the mainstream media doesn't want you to know is that they, like the Obamaniacs, are terrified of Sarah Palin and others like her.  They know that she represents the true political landscape of this country.  They know that if the stock market had not collapsed in mid-September and without the Federal Government becoming a "John" to corporations willing to prostitute themselves in an attempt at salvation from their own perverted greed, John McCain would have likely won this election on the wings of conservatives who knew they had an ally in Sarah Palin.

The Obama sycophants in the mainstream media set out to destroy Sarah Palin from the moment she was tapped for V.P.  They laid siege to her family and offered up damnable lies under the guise of "news".  Even Dan Quayle wasn't treated to the savage, lurid journalistic pornography that the Palin family had to endure.

And, now it continues.  They continue to beat down an honorable American who dared question the established election template and had the audacity to speak for a majority of Americans whose voices were silenced by both political parties.  They must conitue on their destructive path because they know that THEIR DESTRUCTION lay in the truth.

This shameful, disgraceful, perverse display of what passes for American journalism is further evidence that the Fourth Estate is truly dead!  There is no "Free Press" in the United States of America.  There is only the pitiful shell of a once honorable profession that spends its lasts gasps of miserable breath playing w*o*re-chief to a bankrupt political system!

Judgement day has come for the American press and the verdict is guilty!  Guilty of arrogance, ignorance, pride and a criminal lack of integrity.  Your punishment will be to sit and watch your own demise.  Watch as your audience dwindles away.  Watch as your once noble deeds are forgotten and replaced with the memory of your pathetic attempt to save yourselves!

Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness He grinds all."  -Longfellow: Retribution

FILIBUSTER!!!!

By failing to gain the magic number of 60 votes in the U.S. Senate, Democrats must still face the almost certain onslought of conservative filibusters on bills that advance their socialist agenda.  With the mood of defeated conservatives being bitterly angry at the mainstream media's hijacking of the 2008 election process by failing to accurately report serious concerns with Barak Hussein Obama, Republican senators can expect a barrage of telephone calls, emails and letters demanding a blockade of dangerous legislation and judicial nominees.

Rank and file conservatives are in no mood for uniting in support of what we consider Marxist policies and radical judges using the bench to legislate their far left political agenda.  Those of us who held our noses to vote for John McCain will now expect and demand his loyalty to our cause by not breaking judicial and legislative filibusters.

No judges.

No taxes.

No spending.

No retreat.

No raping of our military.

FILIBUSTER!!!

NOTHING GETS PASSED!

This morning, the American left (aka - Marxist Socialists of America) are screaming about the triumph of liberalism, or as they like to deceptively label it, progressivism in America.  And, at first glance, that might be exactly what it looks like to most of the world.  Liberalism has triumphed over out dated, judgemental, hateful conservatism.

......sssscccccrrrrrreeeeeettttttttccccccchhhhh
h.....

California - Proposition 8, a ban on gay marriage has passed.  The people of California have rebuked their radical state Supreme Court for imposing same sex marriages.

Florida - a ban on gay marriage has passed.

Arizona - a ban on gay marriage has passed.

Arkansas - a ban on singles and unwed couples adopting or fostering children has passed

Now, you wanna hear something really funny?  If it had not been for the higher than normal number of black voters turning out to vote for Barak Hussein Obama, none of those measures would have passed.  That's rrrrriiiiiiiggggghhhhhtttttt....in California, Florida, Arizona and Arkansas it was black voters who vaulted these measures to success.

Triumph of liberalism?  Not quite!

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

A ridiculously long election season is nearing its end, and today has found me quite pensive.  Over the last few weeks I've posted a lot here...a lot more than I had recently.  I did it for a reason.  In the early days it was to try and change people's minds.  In recent days it has been to alert people to potential threats to our liberty.  With the post, I have only one purpose...a prayer for our nation and for her leaders, no matter who they may be.

I don't agree with Barak Hussein Obama on anything - NOTHING!  And, I have thought about what I will do if he is elected President of the United States.  I considered taking my flag down.  I considered flying it upside down.  I considered not paying my taxes..(lol, for about 10 seconds).  I considered signing the petition for Texas independence.  And, then today I read these words...

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

Like flowery fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
Lie withering ere ‘tis night.

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

I read those words today and I decided what I will do if Barak Hussein Obama is elected President of the United States.  I will...

Pray for him daily, just as I do President Bush and just as I would John McCain.

Fly my flag proudly because we are the GREATEST NATION ON EARTH!

Vehemently disagree with policies I find dangerous and use my First Amendment right to make my opinions known.

Refer to him as President Obama.

Because you see, despite the fact that I don't agree with him on ANYTHING, he will have been duely elected.  We will witness (with God's help) something tomorrow night that few other places in the world witness.  We will witness another peaceful transfer of power.  No coups had to be undertaken, no revolution was necessary.  The time came to elect new leaders and we will have done that proudly and once again we will display why we are still the "last best hope" for mankind.

Please remember that.  We can disagree and fight with vigor.  But, please...friends...please remember that after tomorrow this fight is finished.  We will have a new leader no matter who he is.  We are Americans.  Let's prove it once again tomorrow.

God bless ALL of you!  God bless America!!

OK, I know that what I'm about to say is going to shock many of you, but just be shocked....

I've criticized Barak Hussein Obama on many fronts and will continue to do so.  But, please please please please PLEASE....

STOP WITH THE ANTI-CHRIST STUFF!!!!

He is NOT the Anti-Christ.  The book of The Revelation does not say that the Anti-Christ will be a man of Islamic decent in his mid-40's.  OK?  It just doesn't.  So, please stop.  We've all seen the email 500 million times and it's no more true today than it was the first time it was sent.

There is enough to fear from Barak Hussein Obama without being stupidly hyperbolic, ok?  People said the same thing about Bill Clinton.  Hell, people have said it about George W. Bush.  It's not true...so please stop.

OK?  OK.

There Lost_Hwy...I said something in defense of your guy. :-)

Well, it seems that the day before the election still brings a bit of aprehension and suspicion to the mids of the messiah's followers.  So, to that end, JUST IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS and Barak Hussein Obama loses the election, that big fat turd Oprah is already laying the groundwork for claims of "voter supression"....the machine dropped her vote...she watched it.  I'll bet you anything Dick Cheney was behind the machine fiddling with the wires!  Whaddaya wanna bet???

Watch the video here....YAWN

LOL.....these people are amazing.  I'll bet he's got his team of lawyers standing at the ready in case America wakes up before tomorrow and realizes he's a Marxist!

There seem to be certain contibutors to this site who fancy themselves some sort of "Guardian of Truth".  Spending hour after hour posting, re-posting, re re-posting material copied from other web sites.  They seem to have some notion that their posts to this web site can somehow influence the upcoming election.  And, they seem to be under the mistaken impression that I continue to post because I believe the same thing.

Let me be perfectly clear:  I am under NO ILLUSION that anything I post here will have any affect, positive or negative, on the election this coming Tuesday.  That belief is arrogant and, frankly, stupidly naive.  I said well over a year ago that if Barak Hussein Obama were to become the Democratic Party nominee for president, he would certainly win no matter who the Republican Party nominated.  I still hold to that belief with only 48 hours until the polls in Texas will close.

However, I also believe that the truth needs to be told.  The reason Barak Hussein Obama is going to win this election is several fold, but the primary reasons are:

1)  The mainstream media has, in large measure, refused to report on who Barak Hussein Obama really is.

2)  The mainstream media has, in large measure, refused to report the truth that our current financial trouble is because the Democratic Party's members of congress refused to address serious problems in the housing market when they were in power and took kickbacks (some say bribes) from certain lenders to stay out of the market.

3)  The American public is now clearly content to have a Marxist Socialist government that will act as a nanny state to provide for their every need.

So, I know there is nothing I can do about any of those truths.  But, I can and will OVER AND OVER AGAIN post the truth about Barak Hussein Obama and his plans no matter how many times it is "refuted" by the "Guardians of Truth" I referred to earlier.  I will NEVER EVER stop speaking the truth...period.

I taught school for four years and I learned some very important lessons.  One of the most important ones was that students who have an excuse for everything rarely amount to anything.  If I corrected a student for bad behavior and they immediately "refuted" my correction with a reason why they were not guilty, I could certainly tell that their heart did not lay on a path toward success.  Never EVER trust someone who has an excuse for everything.

I'm not trying to influence the election.  I, unlike some contributors, am not playing in a fantasy world where I have that much power.  What I am doing is shining a light of TRUTH where others refuse to shine it.  America has made up her mind.  On tuesday night she will elect a Marxist Socialist president.  And, on January 20, 2009, we will lose our country forever.  Factcheck.org can not "refute" that.

Hidden Audio: Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry By P.J. Gladnick

Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It's just that it will bankrupt them.

Amazing that this statement by Obama about bankrupting the coal industry has been kept under wraps until this time.

UPDATE: NewsBusters' Tom Blumer has found out that the San Francisco Chronicle story published on January 18 based upon this January 17 interview did not include any mention of Obama's willingness to bankrupt the coal industry which you can hear on the audio. You can read the story here when you scroll down to the "In His Own Words" section. Way to cover up for The One, SF Chronicle!

Geee...I wonder how long it will be before one of B.O.'s Fox4 Blog "Guardians of Truth" will post a FactCheck.org claim refuting this.  I suppose someone was imitating B.O. or Dick Cheney and Haliburton somehow forced him to say that....

....you know, for 'internal' security...like The Peace Corps and Americorps...

Courtesy of Wikipedia...

The gestapo (help·info) (contraction of geheime Staatspolizei: "Secret State Police") was the official secret police of Nazi Germany. Under the overall administration of the Schutzstaffel (SS), it was administered by the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) ("head office of the Reich's security service") and was considered a dual organization of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) ("security service") and also a suboffice of the Sicherheitspolizei (SIPO) ("security police").

As part of the deal in which Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, Hermann Göring was named as Interior Minister of Prussia. This gave him command of the largest police force in Germany. Soon afterward, Göring detached the political and intelligence departments from the police and filled their ranks with Nazis. On April 26, 1933; Göring merged the two units as the Gestapo. He originally wanted to name it the Secret Police Office (German: Geheimes Polizeiamt), but discovered the German initials "GPA" would be too similar to the Soviet GPU.[1]

The Gestapo had the authority to investigate treason, espionage and sabotage cases, and cases of criminal attacks on the Nazi Party and Germany. A law passed by the government in 1936 gave the Gestapo carte blanche to operate without judicial oversight. The Gestapo was specifically exempted from responsibility to administrative courts, where citizens normally could sue the state to conform to laws. As early as 1935, however, a Prussian administrative court had ruled that the Gestapo's actions were not subject to judicial review.[1]

A further law passed later in the year gave the Gestapo responsibility for setting up and administering concentration camps. Also in 1936, Reinhard Heydrich became head of the Gestapo and Heinrich Müller, chief of operations; Müller would later assume overall command of the Gestapo after Heydrich's assassination in 1942 and Ernst Kaltenbrunner would take over as overall head of the RSHA and SD. Adolf Eichmann was Müller's direct subordinate and head of department IV, section B4, which dealt with Jews.

The power of the Gestapo most open to misuse was called Schutzhaft - "protective custody", a euphemism for the power to imprison people without judicial proceedings. The person imprisoned even had to sign his or her own Schutzhaftbefehl, an order declaring that the person had requested imprisonment (presumably out of fear of personal harm). In addition, thousands of political prisoners throughout Germany – and from 1941, throughout the occupied territories under the Night and Fog Decree – simply disappeared under Gestapo custody.

Interesting, huh?

I'll be offline for the next 48 hours or so.  ACORN got me registered to vote in Ohio, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virgina, so I gotta hop the company plane and go exercise my right to vote while I still have it.  You know what the Democrats say, "Vote early!  Vote often!"  Hey, I'm just following instructions.
