NYC OFFICIALS INSULT 9/11 VICTIMS

Back on October 12 the Empire State Building in New York City was lit up with green lights for the entire weekend to honor the Muslim holiday of Eid. This is one of the most important days on the Muslim calendar since it marks the end of Ramadan.

.

Whoever thought of doing this didn’t seem to think that the families of the victims of 9/11 -- who were killed by Muslim extremists -- might look at this as a gross insult.

.

So why would they do this? Simply because city leaders refuse to associate terrorism with Islam. It’s not politically correct. That’s amazing given the fact that the people who killed 3,000 people on that day were motivated by the teachings of Islam as were terrorist who have been killing Americans for the last 30 years..

.

This idiocy is coming from the same city officials that ban nativity scenes, Christmas trees, Christmas carols, and Hanukkah menorahs but they see no problem at all paying homage to Ramadan. This is another slap in the face for the 9/11 victims.

Unfortunatley, in the "melting pot" of NYC, it does not matter what you do, you are going to offend someone. Being from NY myself, I find that act as deplorable and resent their actions. It is only in recent years that the liberals decided it was wrong to display any other religion or thoughts other than their own. Thirty or forty years ago, there was no problem, why is it a problem now?
It is people pushing things like this that are undemining our country and partitioning the people among themselves. We need to put a stop to the infighting.

jfore this is whacked! Were there any protest? Is the Empire State building owned by muslims? (left lowercase to show support for 80s Metal Head in stating their religion is unimportant to me) They are trying to take our country. There are terrorist everywhere and our government can't get them out, because they can't find them. Maybe they should go to the camps where they stay.

Idiots everywhere........i guess the mentality was that if no green for terrorists..(which most muslim) claim not to be...they would get sue over this BLEEP.........I am going to take a cloth with me everywhere and throw it down whereever I please and pray to my Lord...without wearing the thing on your head..........AND YES....these terrorist are still among us and they are getting younger ones too....but alot of people do not want to accept it.....SO I CAN'T BELIEVE THE CALL FROM RIC KELLER'S OFFICE TO CALL HIS OFFICE AND SUPPORT THAT WE SHOULD NOT GO TO WAR...........PLEASE..........

Eid? I've never even heard of that holiday until you mentioned it, jfore. Why on earth are giving such recognition for an obscure holiday to begin with?

I agree, I think it's ridiculous that a city can ban Christmas decorations (even banning the word!) and Hanukkah menorahs, but it's perfectly OK to honor a Muslim holiday.

I'm not a religous person, but religous symbols don't offend me. It's the whole political correctness thing that annoys the hell out of me.

The Empire State Building is privately owned and operated. What they do has nothing to do with the City of New York.
They honor all religions and holidays.

The second most deadly terrorist attack on the mainland US was the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. It was a Christian who did it.
Terrorists can be any color, race, religion, anybody.

Condemning the entire religion because of the act of a few is bigotry.

Oh, but the new watchwords of our "politically correct" society are "never, ever do anything that might offend a muslum, and if we kiss their butt enough, maybe they won't hurt us"...horsepuckey. Growing up we were taught that the best defense was a good offense... zbert..they don't light the building for Easter.The question is NOT if the owenrs have the right to do what they wish, it was did it offend the families of the dead from 9/11. Don't change the subject. No one asked about Oklahoma City, that is not relevant to the topic. BUt if you want to find the worst act of terror, and the one with the largest death toll, go to Europe and visit the Nazi death camps.
When are you going to wake up to the fact that Islam is at war with the Christian world?
And, counting on people like you to not notice, until this country is under Islamic law, not American Constitutional Law?
Wrong is wrong,and whoever lit the building for this "holiday" has offended more than the people in the scope of the question.

Why are we honoring some crazy muslim holiday??? have we all lost our marbles?

It seems to me, that what I’ve learned here is, the only good Arab Muslim is a dead Arab Muslim…sounds good to me. I lost my cousin in the Marriot Hotel between the towers, he was a manager. The problem is still in the tens of thousands illegal aliens we have in this country and they must all be caught and deported, but this is all too typical of NYC isn’t it? The governor wants to give driver licenses to them too…America…what a country.
