A few months ago we had a long discussion concerning the arrest of two Gideons who were passing out Bibles on a public sidewalk outside of a school in Key Largo, Florida. As a follow-up to that post,  U.S. District Court Judge Michael Moore ruled yesterday that the law they were accused of violating was unconstitutional because it violated the 14th Amendment. Score one for the good guys.

Well, it is sad that THE GOOD OLD TAX PAYERS MONEY AGAIN...working FOR PEANUTS...with so many criminals out there...these two would pay the price...but YA KNOW...sometimes these people don't get a hint either. I have asked around my way TO PLEASE STOP RINGING MY DOOR BELL ON SUNDAYS......I AM NOT INTO THIS AND THAT...AND YET THEY DISRESPECT MY FEELINGS BY TRYING TO COERCED THEIR WAYS INTO MY HOME AND LEAVING LITERATURE I DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE ABOUT .so maybe there's a lesson to be learn. I don't mean to be rude but I told these people I AM DONE AND NEXT TIME I AM CALLING THE POLICE FOR TRESPASSING...and take down their plate numbers...lol This despite the fact I have placed a sign DO NOT RING MY DOORBELL....

Candy, I know exactly how you feel. In my case, there is one group that is known for visting homes and came to my home quite often. I would always engage them in a debate when they came to me door so their leadership has actually told their people to not come to my house anymore because I was getting too many of them to start questioning what their leaders were telling them. In the case of these Gideons, however, they were simply standing on the sidewalk offering copies of the Bible to anyone who wanted one. No pressure.

Jfore...that's too funny. I can't imagine the leader telling its peons..not to talk to you...sorry that is funny. I thought I was bad. Well, see in that case I wouldn't mind someone not forcing their beliefs and simply giving away some bibles or literature...after all we are all entitle to that.

I left out the best part. They actually sent people to my house from their headquarters in Brooklyn to find out what I was telling their people and to try to convince me of my error. After about 10 minutes they were stuttering and got up and walked out. After that I started seeing their people walking down the street carrying a piece of paper in their hands. They'd look at my house, look at the paper, and then walk on by. They would do that even if I was standing in the driveway. They spoiled all my fun. Here's how I got them. I printed up a little booklet that raised questions about the accuracy of their teachings. Every word in that booklet was a direct quote from their bible and their other publlications so they couldn't say that I was making it up. Well, I'm sure the booklet peaked their curiosity and I'm sure they would at least glance throught it. I have no doubt that some of them, especially the new members, even went back to their leaders and asked for explanations that the leaders weren't able to supply. After all, they were reading their own publications. How could they deny what their official publications said? Then when they'd come to my door to hand ME their literature I'd say, "I'll make you deal. I'll take your literature if you'll take mine." What were they going to say? They couldn't say "NO" if they wanted me to read what they had. GOT EM! I can only hope that that little book caused some people to abandon that group. After all, why else would they be so concerned about keeping their people away from me?
