Here's something to think about:  In 2004, the election was about national security.  The economy hadn't yet tanked to the point it is now and 9/11 was still fresh enough in our minds that people were most concerned with having a president that could handle the conflicts in the Middle East, deal properly with Islamic terrorism and keep us safe.  And voters viewed that person to be Bush.

It was likely a no-win situation for Kerry because the majority of the country probably felt that Bush was the one who was in office when 9/11 happened, he's gotten us into the wars that followed, so we'd better not mix things up at the top if we want to keep this country safe.

It was an election about national security.  So what did Kerry decide to do?  He tried to shift his message and image by playing up his status as a war veteran (something Bush could not claim) and try to make a case for his candidacy in the military affairs/national security battleground.  Obviously, it did not work.

Jump ahead now to 2008 - this election is about CHANGE.  The economy is in the toilet, the middle class has dissolved away, the war in Iraq is unfounded and unpopular and overall the country is hungry for a CHANGE at the top.  So logically, the Democrats should be considered favorites and Obama has presented himself pretty well as the candidate of change.

And just as the republicans start to feel things slipping away, what do they do?  They completely change their strategy and message and out of the blue, at their convention, all of a sudden THEY declare that they are the ticket for change.

Huh??  Seriously?  Well, shockingly, it seems to have helped in the short term, partly due to the interest in Sarah Palin.  But seriously, are voters really going to get brainwashed into the crazy notion that John McCain is the candidate for CHANGE in this election?  That's absurd.  There are no facts to back it up and it just doesn't make any sense.  Hopefully, like in 2004, it won't work and Americans will be smart enough to see through the dust and re-assess the issues, facts and truths about what they want in this election, and which candidate (Obama) actually brings them what they want (CHANGE).

That's funny because three month's ago the new Messiah Obama was a shoe in for the presidency. Now when he's not reading off a teleprompter he can barely squeeze out a literate sentence and even his running mate is saying that Hillary would have been a better choice.

I predict that when Obama loses (badly) we'll be hearing about how "racist" America is, but in truth it's just that we prefer not to live under the Marxist regime Barack is steering us towards.

the middle class has been eroding since the 60s it didn't just happen blame the IRS and antiquitated tax codes that haven't adjusted over the years..and if you check gas prices are declining and oil is almost below 100 dollars a barrel the war in Iraq is going well so when are you going to give Bush credit ??the answer is never..so things are improving slowly but they are improving ..so lets change it ..lets tax big business and all business for that matter so we lay off more employees or force them into hiring illegal aliens to cut costs while in the mean time bring down our health care system as well as our educational system.then lets bring home all the troops so our enemies have time to rebuild not only overthrow democracy's but attack us twice as hard as last time ....and who pays for all this change ??the rich??i don't think so there are enough loopholes that your gonna be paying for it is always been like that under a democrat ..every lazy lowlife good for nothing bum will be picking your pocket while legislators get rich saying they are helping the poor while pissing off the middle class as usual..the middle class are the pawns in this game they pay the poor they pay the rich..wake the hell up

Obama keeps parroting "hope and change", but expounds no vision of what that change will look like, so McCain just realized that since his campaign has a vision of change that was already in writing, he'll just take Baracks empty words away from him and show he's the real candidate for change and what that change will look like.
In the words of the one who hired Barack as an organizer, Jerry Kellman “He didn’t see organizing making any significant changes in things”.
Isn't it ironic, that almost all of the places that poor people are the most hopeless, ie New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, etc. etc. are almost exclusively run by Democrats? That's the kind of change we will get from Obama, because, despite their intentions, it is the logical conclusion to their socialist leanings.

Let's just take one example: Obama decries McCains Idea of lowering taxes for corporations, he thinks they should be raised.
On the other hand, he disparages corporations for taking jobs overseas.
Just ask yourself, what would these companies be inclined to do if you raise their taxes even higher? Duh!!

Barack, you can keep the negative change. McCain, now there's change that adds up.

old Washinton politics, earmarks, Obama fell right into them, McCain never has, lobbies, Bidens son is or should I say as he just quit was the biggest one in Washington, is old politics, lifting the cap on social security without a secured fund is Obama's idea McCain voted for a secured fund, so far I get the feeling Obama may not be so hot on change, taking money from oil industry is one he attributes to only McCain,
Donations from Oil and Gas Industry

A federal immigration judge has granted asylum to three Brentwood children who said they had been abused in their home country of Honduras. The unusual decision, announced by the family Friday and immediately condemned by anti-immigration groups, could set a precedent for other immigrants who claim abuse, legal scholars said.

"We are happier than words can express," said the children's father, Margarito Mejia, a contractor. "What a great country this is."

[CORRECTION: The federal Department of Homeland Security has declared it will crack down on immigrants who enter the country illegally. The wrong federal agency was cited as taking that stance in a story yesterday about a federal immigration judge’s granting asylum to three Brentwood children who said they had been abused in their home country of Honduras. Pg. A27 NS; A23 C 9/14/08] Mejia's lawyer, David Sperling of Central Islip, said officials are showing a humanitarian attitude toward children who have suffered abroad even as the Justice Department has declared it will crack down on immigrants who enter the country illegally.
This is because Illegal Alien chuntes no problem screwing underage girls and boys, and some are even their own kids! They are such nice and hard working people!!! ha ha ha

I wish we had a Candidate who would Seal the Borders.

Has any of them even mentioned it?

It's like there's an Elephant in the room and no one seems to notice, except a few of us bloggers.

On the lookout for immigration raids
Activist networks have sprung up to prepare illegal immigrants for possible federal activity in their communities.
By Nicole Gaouette, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
September 14, 2008
WASHINGTON -- Reeling from work-site raids that have jailed thousands of illegal workers, immigration organizations are quietly assembling informal networks to gather advance information about federal enforcement operations and to help locals and laborers prepare.

Students, union officials, waiters and others are volunteering to call in tips about Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents checking into hotels or renting facilities, about the sudden appearance of out-of-town cars and about a surge in action at the local courthouse.

"Is ICE going to tell us when they're coming? What they're doing? No," said Socorro Leos, a community organizer for Mississippi Immigrants' Rights Alliance. "You have to be working with the grass roots, on the ground, training them to be alert, to be very, very conscious, to open their eyes and senses."

The spontaneous development of these intelligence networks stems from the scale of recent ICE raids: hundreds of agents and vehicles plus a major infrastructure.

"These are huge paramilitary operations," said Joshua Hoyt, executive director of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. "They use helicopters, jeeps, mobile homes for processing people. They have to have jail space lined up. It's very hard to do that in secrecy."

Community Organizers supporting criminals make me sick...
