While Joe Biden tried to suck up to Gwen all night Sarah Palin addressed the American people throughout the debate. That's my take on tonight's debate.

If George Soros is such a huge supporter of Liberal Democrat causes (robbing from the rich and giving to the poor in particular) why does he still have so much money?

Why does John Kerry still have so much money?

There are many, many, rich Liberal Democrats out there who have tremendous sums of money and who own large businesses. Why do they retain so much of their money?

If they truly believe in the rich supporting the poor why don't they all pool their resources and invte all of America's Liberal Democrats to come live with them on one huge commune and share everything they own and earn?

Why?

One of JFK's most remembered lines is "Ask not what your country can do for you, Ask what you can do for your country".

One of Obama's lines is that "All citizens should have the same access as the rich and influential". I thought that we do all have equal access as long as we can pay for it. He appears to be saying that access should be paid for by the government.

Does anyone else see something faulty with his reasoning?

The infamous (amongst some) George W. Bush has weakened to a category one election stealer. He keps trying to succed in other areas even though his ability to "steal" elections is in decline. Bush has recently loosed hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike at the United States and it is rumored (amongst some) that he was overheard to say " I'm gonna' get New Orleans if its the last act of my presidency". New Orleans mayor Nagin could not be reached for comment.

In an unrelated story it isreported that G.W. recently shortchanged a gas station operator by 5 cents when he filled his tank and was heard to mutter "I have to make some money from BIG OIL, If I don't my critics are going to come up empty handed".

I'm really not sure what title to use for this blog. The Barack crowd keeps saying that George Bush and his gang started the Iraq war to enrich themselves with oil profits yet they run a political ad saying that we are spending 10B per month on the Iraq war while the Iraquis have 79B in oil profits. How can Bush AND the Iraquis both have all the profits from the war? Aren't the Obamites smarter than a 5th grader? Maybe they think that money can be in two places at the same time.

Oh well, maybe they went to one of their own liberal schools where it doesn't matter whether or not you had the right answer - it just mattered that you tried real hard and participated in the class and then got a good grade so your feelings wouldn't be hurt for failing.

I kept thinking "bridge to nowhere", "bridge to nowhere", hmm just what is this? Is it science fiction or a euphemism for bridge to a different time warp that was just a figment of someone's imagination? What the heck is a "bridge to nowhere"?

Turns out it was a bridge from Ketchikan, Alaska to an island where their airport is and only 50 people live there. I guess that those people aren't as worthy of a bridge as the people of New Orleans are to live in a bowl that is below sea level at the taxpayer's expense. Oh, wait - the bridge wasn't for the people who live on the island - it's for the people who need to get to the airport!

We put our airport 30 miles from downtown out in the middle of "nowhere" when we built it and we already had a good airport right downtown and then we built I435 to "nowhere" so we could get to the airport.

Someday I hope that that bridge will be built so those folks can get to the airport and not be forced into seasicknes on a ferry!

This won't be a long post. It is easy for me to make my point.

Tonight, at the Democrat Convention, JFK's legacy was hijacked by his own brother, Edward M. ( The Killer of Chappaquidick) Kennedy. The killer says that today's neo-Dems are building on the legacy of his brother, JFK, to which I say BULLCRAP!

JFK challenged this nation when he said "Ask not what your country can do for you - Ask what  you can do for your country".

The nation went on to do many great things including putting the first men on the moon. He never said that America owed its citizens every safety, convenience and comfort. He said that we all owe America.

Shame on Teddy for perverting JFK's legacy!

I see that Jay Nixon is lying to the electorate again. His ads say that he "prosecuted the oil companies for price goughing". Nothing could be further from the truth!

I have personally sent Jay numerous emails starting with the runup in the price of gasoline immediatly following hurricane Katrina. Jay's responses were always that he could only prosecute individual retail outlets AND only if they were charging more than 16 cents above the national average per gallon for gas.

Jay Nixon may have prosecuted a handful of gas station operators who overstepped the price boundary BUT HE NEVER, NEVER WENT AFTER THE OIL COMPANIES! He lacks the intestinal fortitude to take on anyone that he is unsure of beating!!!

I have already stated that Chris Koster lists an endorsement by La Raza on his website. Margaret Donnelly doesn't even list immigration as an issue on hers. Michael Gibbons takes a strong stand against ILLEGAL immigration on his.

Check out Jay's website. He doesn't even take a stand on the issue of ILLEGAL immigration. We can't afford to have this guy as governor. We need people who will take a stand!

Actually, if you look at his website he doesn't take much of a stand on anything.

Cleaver is an open borders advocate. Unless you like being overrun by ILLEGAL aliens he's not the guy to vote for!

This guy wants to be governor. Check him out! He has never taken on a major offender of anything. He has preferred to take on a lot of "small potatoes" who don't have the resources to defend themselves from his charges. He has never taken on the oil companies for price gouging here in Missouri and he has no stance against ILLEGAL immigration. We don't need this guy as governor! We need someone who is willing to take on the oil companies who hurt all of us every day and someone who will say "no" to ILLEGAL immigration.

I write my best posts on Friday nights and on the weekends. Everyone else (almost) parties and does their weekend stuff. My best posts go to waste because no one else has time to read them on the weekend.

Yesterday (this takes the advantage of the perspective of time and age to write) liberals believed in unspeakable things: the equality of the sexes, the equality of the races, social justice, the transfer of wealth from one class to another, they questioned America's involvement in foreign interventions ( a nice name for war). They believed in picking up the trash along the highways and they believed that we could make the world a better place than it was.

Today's conservatives believe in those same things.

Today's liberals believe in gay marriage and conservatives fight it. Today's liberals believe that we all need to be saved from ourselves (smoking for instance). Many of today's conservatives also back smoking bans (an affront to individual freedom). Many of today's conservatives are ok with open homosexuality (anathema to conservatives not long ago) but are still against gay marriage. Many of today's conservatives agree that sometimes divorce is the best option (not accepted at all in the conservative community just a few years ago).

Many of you who consider yourselves conservatives are going to blast me on this blog and will say - "no not me" and a number of liberals will gloat.

The truth is that, as a nation, we are now way far left of where we were just 50 years ago and still headed in that direction.

They say that the "pendulem swings". During my lifetime it has swung towards the left. I wonder how long it will be before it swings to the right.

The presidency of George Bush is just a blip on the radar. We really have not even begun to swing to the right yet.

Food for thought for both the liberals and conservatives of today in America.

independant. If anyone wants to correspond directly with me you can do so at jstol3@netzero.com. I see myself as both a conservative and a conservationist. I despise wastefulness but I don't want environmentalists telling me how to live my life. I'm all for a free market system except when it comes to energy. This is a monopoly thast needs to be regulated! I diverge from most conservatives when it comes to abortion and stem cell research as I belive in freedom of choice and scientific progress as I believe that we were given a brain to think with. Knee jerk reactions and one issue politics turn me off. I am both a Vietnam veteran and former Vietnam war protester (we should have been allowed to win). I am an advocate of the war in Iraq (as long as we do what we have to to win) and the war on terror.
