OK, sorry guys. I wasn't going to do this, but it's just too funny to pass up.....and if you see this on the Community Pages I'll be shocked.

Fox Business continues to push the boundaries of what constitutes business news. Last week it was genital cosmetic surgery. This week week it's astrology.

On Tuesday's edition of the morning show Money for Breakfast co-host Peter Barnes interviewed astrologer Constance Stellas about the then upcoming Federal reserve Board meeting. Displaying charts she had drawn up for the meeting and for Fed chairman Ben Bernanke, she predicted a half-point rate cut.

Alas, the cosmos must've been having an off day. The rate cut was actually 0.25 percent.

Or Maybe Stellas was simply outside her area of expertise? According to her  she reads the stars to determine "what colors, sounds, tastes and feng shui are best for you." She's also the author of the Everything Sex Signs Book, Astrology Between the Sheets, which "combines astrology and psychology to uncover a potential lover's preferred seduction style, fantasies and turn-ons."

Now how much more business savvy can you get than that ??

Is this an attack on Christians everywhere, by promoting these occult/pagan practices ? I won't continue with all the different ways you could "spin" this. This was just too funny to pass up, and I think we all need a good laugh right now, enjoy......

As a Christian, I don't hold such things as astrology or fortune telling as being valid for anything, but I don't see them as an attack on Christianity. They are nothing more than scams for gullible people who have no real foundation for their lives. The same applies to these people who claim that they can talk to the dead and bring messages to the living. It takes all kinds of people to make up the world, even the kooks. They are better off ignored and pitied than feared.

As far as I know, astrology, occult and paganism are three separate things.

I don't want to argue with you over things that "spin" but I will say that I have gotten some pretty strong "premonitions" that were spot on.

It didn't come from looking at the stars or reading tea leaves.

I consider myself to be a Christian.

So I dream something EXACTLY and wake up and it happens.

It has taken quite some time to 1.) not be so freaked out by it and 2.)able to deal with it publicly.

I am not one of the famous or notorious "psychics" around and just try to go around and humbly do what God asks of me.

It irritates me when others just lump a whole bunch of different stuff together.

FWIW, our government paid to have research done on the premonition thing back in the 70s & 80s at the Stanford Research Institute. Studies have been replicated at Duke University and U of A.

The crackpot you saw on TV is someone that is just out to make a buck and I don't find Sylvia Browne to be much better.

It comes down to whether it is self promotion and selfless helping of others. In the case you cited above, it is all about $$$ because enough people have come to believe it is real and are willing to buy books like this.

I prefer the books written by :

John Edward (not John Edwards)
Allison DuBois
and
Brian L. Weiss MD

I realize that there are some folks who for some strange reason can see things that ordinary people can't. I have heard of cases where police have used such people to help find lost ones and/or solve crimes. Unfortunately, the field is so full of weeds that you have a hard time finding the grass. By that I mean simply that there are so many phonies out there, taking people's money in exchange for bad information or for "talking" to loved ones who have died, that the legitimate psychics are lost in the shuffle.
"Communicating"with the dead is called necromancy and is condemned in the Bible. This sort of stuff is what I am against, but they will continue to ply their phony trade as long as there are gullible suckers out there who are willing to part with their money for a "reading"

The only real "readings" I ever did was a one weekend, one shot deal on the internet on a message board. It was for free and I shared bits and pieces of what happened to me in the army and left it open for QUESTIONS.

Two people PMd me for a reading and since something "came through" I told each person what I sensed and they said I was right and we left it at that.

There are lots of weeds in the grass. This frustrates me enormously. There is a "psychic" on 44th Street that needed to invest in a lawn mower. I am not sure that an foot high grass is a way to draw clients.

The networks are going to have to come up with something, the writers strike and all.

Nov. was sweeps cabnitman, from what I remember! :)

simonk. I think what we are going to be seeing more of is "real tv" ....ie, real world, survivor, bachelor etc. From what I gather, even if the strike ends now, we wont be seeing any of the programs back on air until summer, due to how long it takes them to write and rewrite. We "the watchers" may have to find other things to do with our time...maybe go to the gym? :)

back on topic...what the hell is "genital cosmetic surgery" anyway? What on earth could make balls pretty? heeeheeee

ROFLMAO & YOMANKAM

Just think, the writer's strike gives Keifer plenty of time to do his sentence and it won't interrupt filming.

As for Prison Break, I hope they get some new writers. It got very old this past fall.

Maybe we'll start talking to each other and families will spend time together. We can rediscover each other. Won't that be great!!

I don't watch much on Fox & I get up too late for the morning shows.

I understand CSI has the season already scripted.

Not much to say actually. Just a normal kinda guy. I drive a truck delivering groceries for a major food chain here in the valley. Try to keep educated on local and national events especially those concerning corruption and moral ineptitude by our "elected officials." Very much for protecting our freedoms and rights, always open to new ideas and discussions. I don't identify as Democrat or Republican, and don't like to be labeled as liberal or conservative. Just try to stay responsible and informed as possible.
