Get this!!!
you know that pip coverage on our insurance is no longer required right...

I call esurance to see what my options are...
for 6 months right now with pip,
my coverage is $1228 per six months...$546 for pip!

The lady Rep. says that when my policy renews in november it is already quoted without pip and my new 6 month premium is $1159.  They cancel my pip coverage and raised all of my other rates to equal it out.  Thats insane, anyone else have this issue??  Insurance rip offs? Please let me know...I know it is good to have this coverage but thats almost half of my policy all together.

LOL I renew in December and January on my cars so I got the policy change phone call yesterday, my “total” savings by not being covered at all is going to be $23 ...what a scam this whole thing is, when I asked about a replacement for my $25,000/$100,000 (individual/per accident) PIP coverage I was offered a $5000 personal medical addition to my policy for $18 ...idiocy !
Hey do you think the insurance company that calls itself “Florida No Fault” will change their name now ??? LOL

You dont expect them to take it in the pocket do you? They are insurance and they only steal money.

The math doesn't add up. You would be better off renewing your policy as it was. For less than 100 bucks, you can keep the PIP that you were paying 546 for. Plus your overall rate could go down! Funny to come across this blog, as I have to renew by the 5th!
My new renewal, was written with the PIP still included, but the total is 40 bucks less than it was 6 months ago! I think if you opt out of the PIP, they jack up other coverage.

In April, I payed 249 for a 6 month policy. Now it is 209 for the same policy. This is for 2 vehicles. They did shift coverage rates though.
Vehicle #1 Astrovan. Property damage went from 70 to 53. PIP went from 110 to 67.
On the other hand,
Vehicle #2 Camaro. Property damage went from 57 to 65. PIP went from 81 to 98.
But the overall savings is 40 bucks, for the same policy! Look into that!
Just for laughs, I will ask how much I can save by dropping the PIP, and I will get back to you here.

I Have to ask , what company are you with Frank ? State farm is saying the if the law is not extended PIP will not be available at all ....I hate to think that after more than 20 years with same company I would have to consider changing but if they are not being truthful about this...LOL

I don't get it, I thought they got rid of pip for that exact purpose to save us all money, but whats the point if they are going to screw everyone over by raising the rates. My premium is outrageous. That pip was dang near half of my coverage. I get rid of that my premium should be close to 5-600 dollars for six months. They submitted my policy for review because I freaked out. I told them if that is correct I will find other insurance. This is just another scam. I really do not like getting scammed, it is not like I make big bucks here. After all I am only a legal citizen...

RNC, I have Agency Insurance Company of Maryland, Inc. They advised that I should keep the PIP, and dropped the rate, so how can I refuse? I have to go renew tomorrow, and will ask what the savings would be if I dropped it, but I will not, regardless. I will let you know the result.
I got the policy through A-Affordable Insurance of Volusia County, here in Daytona. It wouldn't hurt to get a quote from them kyleetan. Every time I renew, they always try to find a cheaper rate for me, and I changed companies a couple of times for that reason.

I also pay my daughters insurance, which is considerably more money! Of course, her 5 speeding tickets did not help!
But for her we went with First Acceptance Insurance Company Inc., because they were less than the quotes I got through Affordable by almost 200 bucks. Her vehicle is financed, so she has to carry full coverage, but 1090 for 6 months is better than 1270! I would get a quote from them too kyleetan.

I will check them out, I have contacted a broker and am waiting their quote. Hopefully they can find me something that doesn't rip a hole in my pockets. Then of course, I need to find health insurance for my son worth paying for. Ugh!

OK. I renewed my insurance today. When I asked how much I would save by dropping PIP, they said that they were told that PIP will be reinstated on the 15th.
Also, they said that my particular company would NOT offer the policy without PIP, and to go to another company, would cost more!
Without the PIP!

Yeah, just aggrivates me, and I do think thats wrong about the pip getting reinstated, last night they said something about a grace where they could not reinstate right away. I might be wrong there though!

Well, they said it would probably be reinstated until January, when they will vote on it again.
Gotta love the government! LOL!

Well, They reinstated PIP, effective Jan. 1st.
I will post a blog on this, if no one else has. Dunno if Fox will cover this at 10, although they probably will.

What insurance company are you dealing with? Don't let them take away your PIP that is so incredibly important spceially in this state with its herrifics margins of accidents and law suits...Go look into other companies and get quotes and get out before you really pay the price of not having proper coverage....Allstate "you are in good hands"
