There are two candidates running towards the Presidential election on the liberal side.  One a black man; the other a woman.  We all know their names, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Is one more worthy than the other for this lofty position?  It's up to the people of this country to decide and we are all hanging on with baited breath waiting to see which of the above is going to go against Republican candidate, John McCain, in November.

Making this decision is an important one and in doing so, the people  have to look very carefully at the abilities of each candidate, their track records and their personaiities since, if either succeeds, they will be in the public spotlight for all of 4 years.  But it seems as though there is more emphasis put on two little details instead of upon the entire scope of possibilities that have to be looked at very seriously.  Those two little details: one is a black man and the other a woman.

It seems I hear over and over again someone uttering the line, "I'm voting for her because she's a woman" or "I'm voting for him because he'll be the first black president".  I have news for anyone who votes upon this reasoning.  YOU ARE DESCRIMINATING!!

Descriminatory

  1. practicing discrimination, or showing prejudice
  2. discriminating, or distinguishing

A candidate should never be distinguished as being anything other than a person and then selected due to their ability to hold the position.

We've been pulling the race card and the woman card far too often.  In fact to the point where it is an universal excuse for every reason one is either selected for a job or not selected.  It's gone on for far too long and we should have progressed to the point where race and sex no longer matter and decisions based solely upon ability to preform.

Everytime someone makes that excuse, pulls the race or woman card, they are descriminating and prolonging that descrimination.  Pulling that card puts emphasis upon the fact that neither of these candidates are worthy of the job based on their abilities.  Just because one is black and the other a woman doesn't make that candidate worthy of the job.

Let's start thinking, people, and consider if you want a "face" to look at for 4 years or if you want someone who is capable at the helm of our country.

While I have been a lifelong republican until Bush Light, never able to convince myself that the smirking, illiterate, silver spoon fed, dumb one deserved to be our president, I believe that Obama has exhibited class throughout this entire campaign, and will superior character and class he has, perform well as our next president.

Anyone notice the freak McCain has for a wife? That woman is scary! You want an evil, twisted, psycho rich *itch with a drug habit hanging out in the peoples house?

FTP,

Class is not a qualification for running a country! If you want to talk about scarry wives, we need to remember Bill's! Wait she's not letting us forget her huh? And the other scarry wife is Obama's! To openly say she has never felt proud of her country until her husband started running for president? I mean come on! She hates this country as much as Rev Wright does! Obama's problem is that he cant denounce her like he did Wright! Obama's heart is with her and dont you forget it! Her heart though has a stone in it! There are plenty of reasons to be proud of this country! To say otherwise is VERY telling!

Yes...political discussions are colourful to say the least at mine since my wife is a Hillary supporter that can't vote because she is a UK citizen. I had to hear it this morning at 6:30 am while she was listening to the news and heard something said about America being the leader of the free world! I believe her comment was in the simple minds of the religious nut cases we threw out of our country maybe, but the rest of the free world sees America as the disgrace it is! I have to listen to her pleas constantly for us to buy a farm in the UK and move there, to which I reply... "I could never live in a country where the people are so weak minded that they believe another man, woman or child is better than them in any way because of the family they are born into! I would never bow to a supposed king or queen and would more than likely end up in a UK prison for telling them what I feel about their prince the freak and their stodgie old prune face queen who had poor Diana murdered!"

Glad my wife is not as weak minded as some of these bloggers, or I would be spending eternity in the dog house! Some of them just don't seem to get the fact that a debate is just that a debate, and win, lose or draw, it is a mental exercise not a perminant scaring of the brain that should cause trama and lingering nightmares! I can't believe people will get hung up on something someone said yesterday on a "News Blog" and have it fresh on their mind, consumed with needing to continue for days to try to come up with a response! If I tried to continue the discussion of this morning tomorrow morning, my wife would look at me with a BLEEP are you talking about, and with my ADD, I barely dwell on something for more than a few minutes. The blog helps me stay seated at the computer when i am working on admin as I can take a break and bounce over to a blog but still be here doing work at the same time. Drives my wife "bleep" ing nuts that I don't just do one thing at a time!

FTP,

I'll bet your wife clammers for some of that good old NHS health care too! What a joke that is! And Hillary and Obama want that here too? But I see you have a wife that hates the US too, just like Obama's? Why is she still here? Wouldn't it better for you to live over there if we are so bad in the US?

Before you go telling me about how much better their system is over there, I'm engaged to a nice woman from Southampton. I'm actually going to be leaving you bloggers for a couple of weeks while I go over there at the end of the month. Anyway, I understand all too well how things work over there. It's a great place to visit and maybe work for a couple of years if you can get a work visa. But live there? NO WAY! The only thing I miss from there besides my lady's family, is a nice plate of BLEEP!

OMG! They bleeped it out!*lol* There is a dish over there that sounds like the F word used as an insult for gay men. "_aggots" Anyway, they are this great pork and sage meatball with onions that's cooked in a nice onion gravy or "west country sauce"! Mmm mm mmmm! You can get them in butcher shops but most people get them in the frozen food section.
The biggest brand is "Mr Brain's Pork _aggots"! No, there's no brain in them!! *lol* Dont ask me why they call them _aggots but they are great!

Ok...now bring on the tasteless jokes! I know you are itching to use them!*LOL*
BTW, ask your wife if she's ever had them. I'm sure she knows what they are.

Did you say Mr Pork's Brain Maggots?

I will bet Obama's smiling face is on the front of the package!

I have been watching both of these IDIOTS now for months and have already made up my mind about who I'm gonna vote for. NEITHER ONE!!! I would not trust either one of those idiots to adjust the temperature on my thermostat. I think they are both liers and will say whatever it takes to get them in the Whitehouse. They would not know what common sense was if they looked it up in the dictionary. I don't want either one of them sitting in a position with that much authority. Scares the hell outta me to think that either one of them could actually make it in the Whitehouse. They talk big and make bigger promises and neither one has the slightest idea about how to run our country. LIES, LIES, LIES! That is all I've heard from both of them. And lets not forget who was running the country when her hubby Bill was running around with Monica. Bill sure didn't have time to be running the country so she's already showed us what she can do. Not a darn thing! She needs to go learn how to bake those cookies she was to busy to do before and Obama needs to go find himself a nice cushy job at a bank somewhere. Maybe he could be the president of THAT. President of the United States? NOPE, WON'T VOTE FOR EITHER ONE OF THEM. Don't like liers.

Your talking about ffaggots, stang, as in ffaggots and peas.
BTW the Queen has absolutely nothing to do with politics or government. She and the rest of her bloody family are nothing but figureheads and tourist attractions, and with faces like those, I can't see why anyone would travel that far to look at the likes of them.
neither Obama or Clinton are trustable. Clinton got us into the mess with 9/11 in the first place and had knowledge of the attack prior to the Bush administration. Clinton chose not to act and ignored Bin Laden. If Clinton hadn't been inept, we wouldn't be at war today.

Well, the thing that bothers me the most is that Clinton just ignored the buzz about the impending 9/11 attack.
Why did he do that? If Gore was elected, would Clinton have shared the info, and prevented the attack? Did he keep it to himself because he was a sore loser? Knowing or suspecting it would happen?
That is a sick, sick, thought. However, I believe it to be true! I would put nothing past Bill Clinton, and his wife is ten times worse.
She may be out of the presidency, but could still be the VP candidate.

LMFAO!

I have said it before, and will say it again.

McCain will enjoy a landslide not seen since the re-election of Reagan.

You have to figure Clinton would ignore 9/11 and do nothing to prevent it. Somethings never change; he proved himself a COWARD when he slinked over the Canadian border during the Veitnam years, instead of doing his civic duty to his country like many other Americans.
If he told Gore anything about 9/11, he would have encouraged Gore to head north for the border as soon as anything happened.

And Shrillary: if there was another Bin Laden style attack while she's in office, we'll find her blubbering and boo-hooing under her desk.

So much for America.

McCain's the Man!!

Maybe a better question would be not "who" but "what" should be running the country in 2008? In the past months of the primaries, Democrats have proven to be equally divided to the point of becoming dysfunctional. The final decision for their candidate now rests with the "Super Delegates."

One thing our country cannot afford now is indecision. The next four years will determine if the U.S. will remain a "super power" or lapse into an adjunct to the United Nations. While "none of the above" may apply to the candidates, there is little doubt which party holds the greatest hope for America's sovereignty in global politics.

Considering my original blog was not about the candidates but about the voters who are basing their decisions solely on the fact that one candidate is a black man and the other a woman, no one got that point.

It's up to the people to decide who the next president will be and it's also true that the democrats have no one to offer and yes, they are dysfunctional.

BUT we also have to be real about who we are voting for and it has to depend on their abilities and not whether one is black man or one is a woman.

But just imagine they run on the same ticket finally, after the haggling is done.

What will the world think of president Osama, and his vp Billary?

They will be laughing from Russia to China.
From Iraq to Iran.
From Africa to Haiti.
From Cuba to the Dominicans.
From Mexico to Columbia.

It would be a shorter list of the ones that won't be laughing.

That list is empty. At least worldwide. The ones that won't be laughing will be here in America. They are the ones that see our days ending if one of the two bickering fools get in.
They will know our days are numbered, and none will be laughing.

I will be among them.

Insofar as the "ability" of the Democratic candidates, I refer back to the phrase "none of the above."

Gang... Hillary has to be elected. Children and women will finally get some "service" in this country. And...

if elected she will appoint more woman into higher positions. What country would dare make moves on us... a country run by women who are PMS'ing, Menstruating, or in Menapause!

What a shame that we vote for our sex, race, age... and not for who is most qualified. What a shame that it does not matter what our individual votes do not really count. First we had the electoral college make the final vote, now it's the Super Delegates. Let's do what we do in school and other group votes... put our votes in a box and count them... the person with the most pieces of paper gets the "job".

The joke was on us when Bill was pres. Everyone was laughing and we lost all respect in the world.
If Hillary and Obama manage to win the election on a duel ticket, we'll have to listen to them scrabbling over who's on top for 4 loooong years. The whole worlds "gonna" have a bellyache from laughing by the time those years are gone.
Agreed, we should just count the votes. The super delegates are getting to be super P-I-A's.
