I emailed Tyson Foods, today, concerning the blog that MissNancy and JKJr had posted.  Below is the response I got back from Tyson Foods.
If I were to believe their explanation, and I'm not saying that I do, it sounds like "Blackmail" by the unions and/or B.S.

There seems to be much to complacency regarding immigrants, legal or illegal.  When does it end, when this country goes bankrupt financially or morally,  or both?

Union Contract Provision only at Shelbyville, TN Plant

Springdale, Arkansas - August 4, 2008 - Contrary to recent reports,
Labor Day is still a holiday at Tyson Foods. This issue concerns only
the plant at Shelbyville, TN. The majority of employees at the Tyson
plant in Shelbyville, TN, are represented by the Retail, Wholesale and
Department Stores Union (RWDSU), an American union that asked for and
received Eid al-Fitr, as one of their eight paid holidays, in place of
Labor Day. This applies only to the Shelbyville plant and resulted as
part of the union contract negotiated last fall. This change does not
apply to Tyson Foods' other 118 plants. This is not a religious
accommodation, rather, it is part of a union-initiated contract demand.
This change came about as a result of union demands brought to the
negotiating table, and was agreed upon by Tyson in an effort to reach a
contractual agreement with the union. The contract that calls for this
change was unanimously recommended by the 12-person union bargaining
committee, which included three Somali employees. The contract was then
overwhelmingly agreed to by 80 percent of the rank and file membership
of the union at the Shelbyville plant.
The Muslim population at the Shelbyville plant is primarily composed of
approximately 250 Somali employees, who are political refugees, most of
whom came to the plant as a result of refugee resettlement efforts based
in Nashville. They were employed at the plant through the Tennessee
Department of Employment Security office.
The Shelbyville complex employs approximately 1,200 people.
Approximately 1,000 workers
are covered by the union agreement at Shelbyville.

Libby Lawson, a Tyson spokeswoman, noted that the plant had three
Christian chaplains, and prayer rooms for Muslims and Christians alike.
Each plant at Tyson Foods provides a chaplain as an extra benefit for
its team members and their families. The chaplain is an ordained
minister, endorsed by his or her church to serve as a chaplain. Tyson
Chaplain Services provides compassionate pastoral care and ministry to
Tyson Team Members and their families, regardless of their religious or
spiritual affiliation or beliefs.

After reading this blog, I can't believe there's anything else to say.  This says it all, and very well, I might add.

I heard the story on the news, yesterday about Tony Gonzales preforming the Heimlich Maneuver, on a total stranger, while having dinner in a California restaurant.  Being a big Chiefs Fan and a huge fan of Tony, I say he's not only a great football player, but a great human being.  A real asset to Kansas City.

Your vote against an amendment to the  immigration Bill 1348.... to make English America's official language is  astounding.

On D-Day, no less, when we honor those that sacrificed in  order to secure the bedrock,

The entire immigration bill is a farce...  Your action only confirms this really isn't about America... it is about  self-serving politics......despicable at best. It has been said: 'Never Argue  with an Idiot....They'll drag you down to their level!'

I'm sure everyone has heard or seen The New Yorker cover, that is causing such a controversy.  This has been a satirical publication for many years and has never stirred up so much hype.  Their cartoons have jabbed at everyone from world leaders to baseball players.  Now all of a sudden they're being criticized about the cover with Obamas on it.  Aren't we getting just a little too sensitive?  Is this politically incorrect just because of their race?
It seems to me anyone that chooses to run for president should take a good long look at the fact they will be scrutinized, made fun of, even humiliated (in some cases) because of their background or because of a stupid statement that they make.  Frankly, I don't know if Michelle is a terrorist or not.  I don't know that Barrack is a Muslim or not.  I do know that as a child he was schooled in Indonesia, and that is the world's largest Islamic Country, with a 90% Muslim population.  Coincidence, whatever!
"If it's too hot, get out of the kitchen".  Even John McCain can make jokes and laugh at himself about being "very, very, very old".  I be if the The New Yorker would put him on the cover as Father Time it would be alright.
The comedians have had a ball with their jokes and comments about Bill Clinton, for years.  That's alright because he's white.  Now they have to walk on eggshells where Obama is concerned.  Are we to give up our "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press" because of all the sensitivity or that it's "politically incorrect"?  Come on, this is America!
I say, if you choose this road, be prepared, keep a sense of humor and if you can't laugh at yourself, "pull up your big boy/girl pants" and move it or lose it.

CANDIDATE FOR REAL CHANGE!  THIS IS THE PLATFORM:

(1) 'Press 1 for English' is immediately banned. English is the official language, speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two-year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. No imports, no exports.
We will use the 'Wal-Mart's policy: 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border (six month tour).
They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin' in, you ain't gettin' nuttin' out. The president (nor any other politician) will not be able to touch it.

(6) Welfare:checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40-hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

I watched this mundane program for the first time 2 weeks ago.  How they can call what they do "dancing"?  It's more like acrobatics.  Who are the judges?  Are any of them dancers?
Bottom line, WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS SHOW. 

Hey, folks, Want to participate in tweaking the Drive-By Media?  You are aware, probably, that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states.  You heard this?  And everybody chalked it up to, 'Well, he's tired.' 

You know, this is a Dan Quayle moment.  I mean, Dan Quayle goes out there and misspells 'potato,' and we still hear jokes about it.  Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states.  Well, I have here a printout from a website called the International Humanist and Ethical Union .  And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins.  'Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating.' 

We're participating here in a tweak of the media.  Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states.  'Every year from 1999 to 2005, the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states,' this is from the International Humanist and Ethical Union .  And the title of the piece here is, 'How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council,' and there are 57 of them. 

So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen? Will YOU be deceived by this man ?

OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel. Can't buy it? Too bad! Eat your oil! Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled fillet of camel a$$!!! =

I found this interesting, since Daddy Bush was the one that banned off shore oil drilling, in the first place. Why did it take this moron so long to undo the mess his dad caused. Now, it will take at least 4 years to catch up, in the meantime we'll all go broke between paying taxes and buying gasoline.



WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush asked Congress Wednesday to permit drilling for oil in deep water off America's coasts to combat rising oil and gas prices.
If President Bush can persuade Congress, more oil rigs like this one off Canada could appear off U.S. shores.

"There is no excuse for delay," the president said in a Rose Garden statement.

Bush also renewed his demand that Congress allow drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or ANWR, clear the way for more refineries and encourage efforts to recover oil from shale in areas such as the Green River Basin of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Bush said that the basin potentially contains more than three times as much recoverable oil as Saudi Arabia's proven reserves, and that the high price of oil makes it profitable to extract it.

My husband and I flew to Reno over a week ago, spent 4 days and then drove to San Jose, CA for our granddaughter's high school graduation.  Gas prices in Reno were still under $4.00 when we arrived there, but here in San Jose their at $4.43 per gal and climbing.  Rooms in the Holiday Inn are $126.oo a night, with a discount.  Starbuck's coffee $2.00 a cup more.  Everything out here is sky high, we don't how good we have it in K.C.  Guess it's good that most of the people who live here have six figure incomes.

Home never sounded so good to me.

Just a week after American Airlines announced charging for check-in luggage, due to rising fuel costs, today US Airways has announced a $60 raise on ticket fares, plus, they are doing away with serving snacks on flights, also, do to rising fuel costs.  Gosh I wonder how much they'll save, not passing out those little bags of stale pretzels?  Don't know if this includes soft drinks and coffee.  There's sure no way you can pack a lunch and take a thermos of coffee on a flight.  What's next?  Charging for using the toilet and having to furnish your own T.P.? 

If no one flies, except for people that have to because of their jobs and the rich and famous, it won't be long before the airline industry will become another thing of the past.
