There are so many questions in this kidnapping.  If a relative of yours pulled up and requested a shovel, a gas can and a flash light and they had ANYTHING tied up in their car what would you do?

Second part is why do police think they will still find her alive?

Let's hope this is not her! Though whom ever it is, it is tragic!

This morning I saw an ad for a movie "Saw IV"
I said to my husband, "why do you need to go rent or buy a movie to scare you"...when all you have to do is watch the news. If a story of a mother, in her home with her babies, kidnapped and never seen again..isn't scary enough for you...then I feel sorry for your warped mind.

What causes our society to produce such sick evil people?

It appears they have found her body.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family of this senseless evil crime. Those poor children and her husband have had their lives ruined by this POS!

May she rest in peace and always be there in spirit protecting her children from any further pain in their lives!

Yes, indeed, her family has to be devastated and in shock. How utterly horrible. And to think the LEO were only a few steps behind this creep. My thoughts and heartfelt sympathy for Amber's family.

I have to say I agree with RandyLoo, everytime you turn on the news, you are sure to find some freak of some nature, or some crazy tragedy. Why is there so much senseless violence? I was at my friends house last week in Polk Country and there was the Murder suicide only four streets over from his house. In my opinion my answer to the first question, why the Hell do you need all that stuff, is what I would ask my relative, but I dont see any of my relatives doing anything heinous at all! The police are following procedures in looking for her, they don't necessarily think see is alive. This is another horrible story, an innocent woman, may she Rest in Peace.

"why the Hell do you need all that stuff,"

So the violence is caused by poeple OWNING stuff and THAT makes it their fault??

Sorry Rick,,I respectfully disagree..There are stories out there where homeless people have been killed for their boots and the ONLY thing that there seems to be in the way of possessions with THIS case is the Girl's Body..

What I think is the problem here is the perception on the part of these sickos that very little will be done.. EVEN if they get caught and EVEN if they get sentenced to death it'll be YEARS before they EVEN have to worry about it....With MANY of them,,considering their Life Styles, attitudes and the people they hang with,,20 years or so,,EVEN IN PRISON,,ends up being an INCREASE in their particular Life Expectancy...Sad to say but for the SAME reasons above THIS may be the first time in their Miserable lives that THEY were treated HUMANELY,,if ONLY because it's mandated by LAW..AND,,,they get three squares a day and ALL the protection they need..SOMETIMES..

So you would not ask your relative as to why they all of a sudden needed gas, a shovel, flash light, and had something tied to their car? If there is any confusion as to what I would do, well I will clear that up. I would ask, and if they were up to no good, I would do something about it. Hopefully it would be verbal and not physical, but I am not afraid of confrontation, at ALL! I threw a freak out of my business for making an inappropriate comment to one of my female employees. I never sit back and watch, if it is something I can't handle, I call the authorities. Am I supposed to do nothing because my friend or family member committed a heinous act? Sorry but I will not sit back while an innocent person is being harmed, sometimes you can not depend on response time from Law Enforcement, and that little time could mean the difference between someones life and death. I know I am not superman or any tough guy, but I am very capable of handling my business. I have a problem with sitting back and doing nothing. Someone else can do that. Hawkeye, I am confused, are you saying I should not ask as to why they needed these items?

He told his cousin that his "lawn mower was stuck in the mud and it had run out of Gas...after about 30 minutes after he had left due to this woman in his car tied up screaming for help He did call 911 to report what had occurred.....If this had not been part of a LAW ENFORCEMENTS FAMILY It NEVER would have probably made the NEWS!!!

IS SAD REALLY!!!

MY CONDOLENCES TO THIS FAMILY & THE MANY OTHERS WHO DON'T RECEIVE ALL THE ATTENTION!!

I just think getting a lawn mower stuck in the mud sounds fishy to begin with, either way there is no explanation for the horrible acts that have been committed, none. It is sad. I hope the best for the family, this is such a hard time, "life is the most precious thing you can lose"-PW

This young women is the same age as my beautiful daughter. I'm sorry, you are still a kid at 21. She had her whole life in front of her to raise her children and experience life. How horrible for her parents, children, husband and family. My prayers and thoughts go out to her family.

These lethal abductions are increasing to horrifying levels. The sanctity of human life is no longer a priority in America's national pshyche. Still, for most of us, every new case is as abhorrent as the last. Just knowing we are utterly helpless for preventing such acts of violence makes it all the more frustrating.

Until our legal system clearly defines certain and irrevocable punishment for such atrocities, evil minds will risk their UNcertain fate to chance. We must establish the rigid and clear consequences so that even a moron can understand them.

To Criesenbeck: I think you are totally out of line stating that if it had been someone other than a police officer's family member, this event would have never made the attention or media coverage! North Port is a no man's country in many ways, still developing, because it has been a cheap place to homestead. You totally have missed the point of this poor girl's cry for help. It was acknowledged as a legitimate call for help by their 911 operator and they did not even know it was a police officer's child! Her father had to verify it was his daughter's voice on that 911 tape. All and all you did give a message of condolence to family, friends and to all who tried to find and save this beautiful child that now is in the hands of God. I hope that you will totally commit to a true feeling of sadness inspite of your acrid remarks about your statement of handling of search and hopeful rescue--not a death!

This is a terrible tragedy. May the poor girl rest in peace and her husband find some comfort in the children who have been left to him miraculously unharmed.

As to answering Michelle's questions, considering the girl was tied up in the back of the car when the items were requested, I would have called the police. Under the circumstances, confrontation would have probably proved fatal to the relative but the police should have been called within 5 mins, not 30.

There was an interview with a neighbor who noted a suspicious car driving up and down the street just previous to the kidnapping. I would have also called the police at that point just to have them come check it out.

On my street, when a car was abandoned, several neighbors called the police. It turned out that the car had broken down on the way to work, the owner parked it, walked to work and called a towtruck. Still better to be safe than sorry the way things are nowadays. You never really know what's going on.

Look rmj50 Most persons who become MISSING have to typically WAIT 24 hours unless this "Person is a CHILD or LAW ENFORCEMENTS family" then they send out the hounds! search and rescue did a wonderful job on finding her so fast and THAT is very comforting to some but to the people who still have loved ones that are "LOST" it is a BLOW of a real feeling of UNFAIRNESS, of course these people are ONLY left with a thought of assumed DEAD!!

AND FYI YES EVERY PART OF MY CONDOLENCES WAS HEARTFELT!!
