Tonight, Saturday March 29th the world will participate in "Earth Hour". That is to say, more than 20 cities around the world will switch off their lights for one hour at 8:00pm EST, in a climate change awareness event. WHAT? You have to be joking? This is what you get when hippies grow up! Meaningless garbage designed to make those who join in feel good. They claim this event will "Raise Awareness" of the subject of Global Warming. Note that they now call it Climate Change because they have warn out Global Warming. But anyway, do they really think that people haven't heard of this topic and need to be made aware? Unless you live in the the middle of the African savana and have no access to news, I'm sure that EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT! Also, you wouldn't have lights to turn off to show you are now aware, so what is this going to achive? NOTHING! Another thing that shows how meaningless this is, they only have about 20 cities taking part. 20 cities out of thousands of cities world wide? That's a huge joke!

If you are as sick of the Global Warming wackos as I am, this is what I want you to do.

TURN ON ALL YOUR LIGHTS!

I don't care if it cost me another $10 in electric tonight, I'm going to do it! Let them know when they see your lights burning that you haven't fallen for this crap that's being shoved in our faces day in and day out!

I'm calling this event "Anti-Earth Hour!" Not that I'm anti-Earth, because I'm not. I'm just anti this meaningless hour of feel good mumbo jumbo!

I'm loving it! Thank you for making us aware of this most important event.

If these hippies really wanted to put their money where their mouths are, they'd turn all of their lights off FOR GOOD and park their cars forever.

I wonder if HUFFASS is going to participate.

I say let's light 'em up, 'stangg!

Glad you guys are with me on this.

Ok...Just one more thing! Make sure all your lights are incandescent bulbs! 150w if you have them! None of the compact fluorescent pieces of crap! If we time this right, maybe we can cause TECO to trip a main breaker! Wait...that would be bad. Ok...we have to be careful or we could end up with no lights at all. Just turn them on one at a time then! *lol*

I guess you're gonna de tune your vehicles to they get worse gas mileage too. Sorry, but waste in any form makes no sense.

That's why you make no sense! *lol*
This event called Earth Hour is a WASTE OF TIME! So by your own definition, it makes no sense!*LMAO* Thank you for illustrating the lunacy of the Earth Hour event!

To show you how STUPID this is, Google's normal website normally has a white background. Today it's got a black background and the added words, "We've turned the lights out. Now it's your turn"! They haven't turned off their servers! They just changed the background color! Some really meaningful support there huh? They should turn off their computers if they really believe this will do any good! What bigger statement could they make!? You have as much chance of them doing that, as these wacko hippies growing a brain!

I noticed that on Google this morning, 'stangg.

Talk about LAME!

It reminds me of a Pat Travers tune from way back. I wonder if I drink myself into a stupor and pass out. Will that count for "lights out" credit?

BTW: Thanks for helping to fight the good fight around these parts! Your presence is appreciated.

Thank you Floyd. I do what I can. I just hope this blog helps people realize how meaningless this is.

Tonight I was watching Fox13's 6pm story about this event. Their "man on the street" interview was with some student from USF. Looked like he was sitting in a lawn chair getting a tan. The kid thought it was a great idea because we are so wasteful. Give me a break.....please! I'll be he stays up all night with the lights on playing video games!

These buildings that are going dark tonigh, why dont they turn their lights on 30 minutes later in the evenings and off 30 minutes earlier in the morning....EVERY DAY! No one will miss that and, if they are serious, that alone would save over 15 full 24hr days worth of electric for those light! But no one thinks like that. Instead of something meaningful, they come up with this stupid lights out coombya feel good hippy fest! *sigh*

I heard 1 ad for this so called earth hour where they were going to light over a mile of highway with candles.
Now there's bright spot for the misguided global warming freaks.
