Hello fellow bloggers!!!!!!!!!! ITs been awhile since I posted anything but something happened the other night when My husband and I were out to dinner, that I thought could be a great post.  I have never hidden the fact that I'am CHRISTIAN and believe in JESUS as our LORD and SAVIOR. With that said while we were at a restaurant having dinner, our waitress comes up to us with the bill and says 'Happy Holidays" which of course I reply You mean MERRY CHRISTMAS and then she laughs and says its easier to say Happy Holidays because you never know if some one is JEWISH OR MUSLIM OR AN ATHEIST OR WHATEVER........  uh HELLO !!!!!!  regardless of what ever you say or claim to be the fact is that CHRISTMAS IS THE HOLIDAY THAT WE CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one can dispute that JESUS was BORN!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't care what you are or claim to be....  JESUS was born and HE DESERVES THE RESPECT !!!!! As for me I will always say MERRY CHRISTMAS to whomever whenever and if they are offended so be it GET OVER IT!!!!  people can choose to think what ever they want but it is not  "HAPPY HOLIDAYS"  JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON  and that is the only reason for now and forever!!!!!!! May you all have a BLESSED  and MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS with your families and friends and count your Blessings every day that you have air to breathe and life to live.                    MERR CHRISTMAS!!
        Love, mom

Hey mom,
Glad to hear from you and hope you and your family are happy and healthy. We talked about this not long ago and I was telling everyone that I make it a point to say MERRY CHRISTMAS all the time during the holiday season. If someone does'nt like it tough! As you say its a celebration of the birth of Christ. I am an american, this is MY country and I am exercising the right of the first amendment.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Mom,

I say Merry Christmas but really it's up to the person what greeting they chose. I can understand the waitress using Happy Holidays as she relies on tips to survive. I have always felt bad for those who have to work in a restaurant as some people just act like kids there and withhold there tip for any reason they can make up. Now as for you and your loved ones MERRY CHRISTMAS may the next year find you all healthy, happy, and full of blessings.

Pax,

Glenn

Merry Christmas to you & yours!!! I find it hard to believe that people today will do anything to make their mark in the history books or try to fix what was never broken. The real spirit of Christmas is crushed by those that want to act away from the norm & destroy what they can't control. Amricans used to celebrate Christmas with family & Yuletide blessings but nowadays, it's about who gets the best gifts and how much the stores rake in. Shameful. Give me an old fashined Christmas anytime!

I don't think that there is anything wrong with a waitress saying Happy Holidays. Contrary to what you may believe, there are many faiths in this country. Many AMERICANS are not Christian. And for the record, Muslims and Jews also believe in Jesus...although they do not celebrate Christmas. There is a lot more to worry about in this world than whether or not someone utters Merry Christmas. Welcome to America, land of the free.

BTW-I am not the least bit offended if someone says Merry Christmas, but I am certainly not offended that someone says Happy Holidays.

I like being told merry Christmas and I would have no problem if a person of a different faith shared their hollidays! For example if someone said happy Hanica I would say Happy Hanica back!

I don't worry about anyone's response when I say Merry Christmas or however I choose to express my greetings for any holiday-I know in my heart I meant well wishes to them & they can take it at whatever speed they want. I agree with steve too that it is a good sign of respect to return a greeting as it is presented.

Educator, I agree with you that Muslims and Jews, do believe in Jesus never said they didn't. What bothers me the most is that people get offended when we celebrate the BIRTH OF JESUS. We don't say happy holidays when its Easter, Halloween 4th of July or whatever, but because it has CHRISTmas in it people are offended WHY?!? JESUS was born no disputing that. I don't get offended when someone says happy holidays I correctly inform them that it is the birth of Jesus and MERRY CHRISTMAS is the correct way to celebrate it, nothing to be ashamed of,ALL religions ALL people its the way I see it CHRISTIAN or not, It is giving Jesus the respect that HE deserves, granted being of Christian faith tends to make me think more differently then some but don't discard the REAL REASON WHY WE CELEBRATE EVER!!!!!

Well, it is nice to see someone who truly believes in their faith. But, mom, come on, do you really think that the vast majority of Christian Americans celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ? Or is it merely a time for people to overeat and open gifts from "Santa". I can bet my life that if you polled a group of people they would think Santa before Jesus on Christmas. Sad, but true. And do you really think Jesus was born on December 25th?

I am first and foremost a CHILD OF GOD. My love for the father and JESUS CHRIST the only sinless person to EVER walk this earth. My salvation is secure in the hands of Jesus. I'am a wife to one of the hardest working men I have ever met, supports his family and is a devoted Christian, I am a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful intelligent AWESOME children and a mom to two adult children who have blessed me with two grandchildren one from each. Each day I am in awe at the wonders around me that our Lord GOD has blessed us with, and I am thankful for the many family and friends I have in my life.
