The bad blood between UFC president Dana White and one of the UFC's biggest stars, Tito Ortiz has come to a head. After White's constant bad mouthing of Ortiz, not as a fighter but as a person, he has chosen to leave the UFC sighting that he "will never be taken advantage of by the UFC again". On a number of interviews conducted with White in regards to Ortiz, Dana repeatedly called him an idiot and a moron. In one interview he said "Tito Ortiz jumping ships means nothing" and that he "can't stand him".

White even went as far as bad mouthing Ortiz's long time girlfriend, porn star Jenna Jameson. Jameson posted a blog in backlash saying, "He has a track record in every conversation, if he needs to describe someone who he feels threatened by, or weakened by... he lashes out in the manner of a 12 year old, by accusing the other of unintelligence."

My thing with Dana White is this, as the president of the fastest growing MMA brand (and MMA being the fastest growing sport) you don't talk badly about your fighters. Burning bridges is a very bad move. He should be keeping personal opinions to himself and carry himself as one in his position should, a professional. Look, I don't like Tito Ortiz very much either. He's one of those fighters that you love or you love to hate. He has a very cocky attitude. But thats beside the point. If White doesn't like that, get rid of him! Don't talk crap about him and his girlfriend during interviews. Very un-pro... Dana could end up damaging the UFC name because of his ranting. He's already developed a name for himself as a motormouth in the business and among MMA fans.

I never thought I'd see myself siding with Ortiz on anything but hey...

Good blog. Must admit since lack of any tv wioth the strike I watched Ortiz Apprentice. I found him likeable. But it was TV.
But....A cocky attitiude would go with the sort of sport he is in right? People just can not be nice anymore. What ever happened to let's just stop and walk away? Money, fame , hate, all great things for our children to learn growing up right? What a shame.

Well when you look at one of MMA's all time greats, Randy Couture he's one of the nicest people. He's a gentle giant, but very lethal in the octagon/ring.

Yup, thats right. But my point is, a cocky attitude doesn't go hand in hand. Thanks.

Tito just seems like that kind of guy. From what little I know of him. But alot of times guys into his sport are sometimes or more time taken for not being very intelligent just cuz of the attitude and what he does. Then there are the ones who "think" they are more than they are. I found Tito from what I saw and I also realize it was what he let me see come across as smart. He does take a lot of heat for his girlfriend but seems to handle himself well. These sports are still fairly new to me but samo go me interested. It does take a certain type for this don't you think? But I like learning things about a lot of different things. What makes these guys do this in your face fighting is a good story also. Thnax have a great weekend.

dana white tends to talk alot of smack. it's part of his job. anything thing that goes against the ufc is crap, and of course he's gonna discredit it to make the ufc seem like it's the best mma show, with the best mma fighters.

randy couture was one of their best fighters in the ufc. they praised him, but as soon as he left the company to join another company where he would get to have the chance to fight the #1 heavy weight in the world, the dana white spat on his legecy in the ufc. he claimed that he's a has been, and that it's a crappy match, even though the ufc were trying to make that same match happen in their organazation and couldn't which resulted in randy's departure.

bottom line dana, talks alot of smack, he pick's favorites, and gives his favorites chances and anyone that crosses him is gives them the boot and discredits them. sad but true.

sounds just like Al Davis and what he has and still does to The Raiders. Bad sportsmanship if you ask me.
