Ok Everyone.....I made a remark in my other blog that poses an interesting question. If you could bring back any President to serve for the next 4 or 8 years, who would it be and why? For me, it's a toss up between Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan.

Right now, Teddy's "Talk softly but carry a big stick" mentality would be ideal in these dangerous times.  Being the original "Trust Buster," I think that he would put the Oil  Industry and other corrupt corporations in check. Teddy says what he means and means what he says!

The Gipper, aka Ronnie,  would also be great because America really needs a President that can lift our Spirit and give us hope as a nation again.  Also, the Middle East knows from past experience that the Gip would have no problem turning them into a parking lot if they don't get their act together!  China would also think twice about messing with the Gip!

What about the rest of you? Who would you pick?

Thomas Jefferson
This way he could explain what are founding Fathers ment in the constitution to the ACLU & Taxacrats.
Lincoln would be my number two because he would be a strong war time President and do what has to be done.

...The man that proclaimed our rights inalienable with, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." being key attributes to all humanity outside the realm of any governments grasp.
...3rd president of the United States, and author of our Bill of Rights,Thomas Jefferson.

...Do what has to be done? Do you think 600,000 Americans had to die in the Civil war?

...Lincoln created a fiat currency as opposed to Jefferson who was whole-heartedly against a central bank.

...Your grammar never ceases to amuse me. My criticism of your hypothetical presidential choices reflects your lack of understanding history.

...Your criticism and misrepresentation of my views reflect your overall ignorance and stupidity.

...If I were a Communist why would I want Jefferson as a president? Now if I had said I favored FDR, or even Roosevelt for that matter you might have something to work with.

...Dang I wish there was an edit feature on here, FDR is Roosevelt, and really he's more socialist then communist, but they're close in comparison. whatever.

Millard Filmore (he was twice as smart as Dumbo)

Not wishing to be a "party pooper," I'll cast my lot with William Howard Taft. Why? Taft understood the strength of the U.S. capitalistic system and would take any steps necessary to preserve its integrity in spite of "populists" efforts to criminalize free enterprise.

Mark me in the "Thomas Jefferson" column. Perhaps then he could stop rolling in his grave over what WeThePeople have let become of what he and those other wise Founders started.

We need another one like Nixon. Nixon was the first to sell us out to China. But hey, look at all of the wonderful cheap goods that we now have to select from at Wal-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc.

I see that (thus far) no one has mentioned Carter. Hmmmm.

...Nixon is mainly the reason that this country is on the fast track to socialized medicine. He came up with the idea that all employers must offer their workers with health insurance. I'm sure it sounded good on paper, but dang what a hole we've dug for ourselves on that one.

Great Caesar's Ghost! How could President Jimmy Carter (Jimmah Cahtah) have been overlooked? I suppose in the same way that Warren Harding has not been mentioned. Surely both should be honored with the "least likely to succeed" category in this august body of political leaders.

Abe Lincoln! Good Man whom "Always got the job done!" Oh, Did i mention he was a good person? Leaders need to remember we need to lead with our heads and a little heart.

I would bring back George Washington. No one else comes close to matching his greatness as a man. We desperately need a man of his rock-solid integrity now.
Madison would be my second choice. He could straighten out the courts on the true meaning of the Constitution. He and Jefferson would certainly set them straight on the "seperation of church and state" nonsense being perepetuated by the Liberal courts now.

Wow!

I'm glad so many you took part!!!! Unfortunately, none of the current candidates can hold a candle to many mentioned here.

Many of you make a very valid point. The Founders would be pretty P-O'd at what we've done with their Republic!

...Ron Paul would make the founding fathers proud.
