when i heard of the news about what happened to to chirs benoit, i was in shock and disbelief. i have watched him perform for over 10 years. he was one of the greatest wrestler of all time. time and time again, he performed in matches that would eventually be classic's. it's sad to know that his legacy in the ring will always be over shadowed by what he did. i just wish for the many wrestling fans out there, that they remember him for what he was inside the ring, for his charity work outside the ring, for being a hero to many in his homeland of canada, and for his great heart and passion he had for wrestling.

i know as a fan, i'll always remember his work. in the ring, he was one tough s.o.b. his aggresivness was unmatched, his wrestling skills were amazing. the drive and force he would put into his snap suplexes, the way he dove off the top rope to perfrom his flying head butt with full blunt force. his incredible counters, escapes and from submissions only to put you in his own submission move "the crippler crossface" or "the sharpshooter". he was amazing. i'll miss seeing his triple german suplexes. no one but his greatest rival kurt angle can pull them off like he can.  i'll miss chris dearly. for more info on chris benoit, visit wwe website.

chris benoit with his late friend eddie gurrero at wrestlemania. the night he won his first world title.

chris showing his ruthless aggression. one of the reason why he is known as the rabid wolverine and the crippler.

chris benoit performing for our troop in iraq. showing his support for our country and giving the troops the much needed moral they need to succeed.

a picture of chris benoit, the man outside the ring.  if you want to see what kind of man he is, just watch the wwe hall of fame. where he along with rey mysterio, and chavo gurerro inducted his best friend eddie gurerro in the hall of fame a year after eddie's death.

i'm not saying what he did was right, or for it to be forgotten. all i'm saying is that a person has to look in his life in all aspects of his life. the good and the bad. most people know benoit as a murderer. but he was much more then that to millions of others. to others like me he was a hero at one time. i wished i could be him when i was younger. so for me it hurts deeply to know what he did. i didnt' write this post for people that only know him as what they see on the news, i wrote this to the real fans that knew him, watched him daily, and knew what kind of person he really was. people that wont judge him on his one moment of weakness. he wasn't in a proper state of mind. i dont know what came over him, and i wish it would have never happened.

well thank you. it does hurt to see some you care about for years fall so hard. i'm glad that the wwe has tried their best to prevent drug use in the business, but no system is perfect. things will always slip by. i just hope that i don't have to lose another so soon.

Wow, I can't believe I hadn't heard about this until now! I once found myself at a WWF viewing party in Ohio... but that's a story for another time...

How sad in so many ways. Sad that the wife and child were the victims of this and sad that a man with such fame and so many resources couldn't find the help he needed to get through his problems in a non-violent manner.

He's being accused of injecting his innocent son with steroids. I feel bad for you. I give you a lot of credit for still caring about a person that obviously wasn't who everyone thought he was. Because you are so caring, understanding, and forgiving, life will treat you well and if you ever make a mistake, I hope you are given as much compassion as you give to others.
I on the other hand, am nothing like you. Too bad, in a way.
:-)

well i knew when i wrote this post, i was pretty sure i would get alot of heat from people that don't understand my point of view.

killing and maybe pumping your kid full of roids. it's wrong, just plain wrong. it makes me sick to know people would do that. i'm not sure if chris did pump his son full of that stuff. it could have been his wife, or maybe both. as a wrestler, he's always on the road all year round. he doesn't spend much time around the house, so maybe he might have never known that. maybe he did. it's all speculation right now.

i'm guessing it was the roids, relationship problems, his physical pain and stress from work that drove him over the edge. most might not know, but chris broke his neck and had to have surgery on his spine like 4 years ago. he couldnt wrestle for a year after the surgery. i know something like that will never heal 100%, along with the other bumps that he had to take on a daily basis from work. his marriage was falling apart. that's not much of a surprise to me. most wrestlers could never get marriage right. it's hard too when your never around your family. plus his wife is known to sleep around alot. so that might have drove him crazy too. this was husband #3 for her, and she cheated on the last 2 husbands. she also was a wrestler for many years. she was known as "women". nancy and benoit met when she was married to her 2nd husband kevin sullivan. in a angle she cheated on kevin with chris, which in real life did happen at the same time.

life as a wrestler is hard. to many it leads to addiction. you take pills for the pain, y

life as a wrestler is hard. to many it leads to addiction. you take pills for the pain, you take drugs for the energy boost, you drink for because you want to forget the fact that your all alone, and you take roids to keep your job, cuz you have to be in shape so it drives them to work out. its a awful cycle. i just hope other wrestler learn from the mistakes that chris made, and many other wrestlers.

I'm not giving you a hard time about this at all. I meant no disrespect. If anything I meant to compliment you on your big heart and compassion for others. It is obvious that you where a loyal fan and now after this tragedy, are in pain. That is admirable considering the rumors. Hope you feel better.

oh, i never felt like you disrespected me in any way dasvics. i just want everyone to know a lil more info about chris benoit, and what i thought were possible reasons on why he did what he did, and on how hard it is to live as wrestler. this is the 4th death of a wrestler this year. bam bam bigalow died in january of what might have been heart failure, mike awesome commited suicide by hanging himself, and sherri martel died of a possible o.d. a tragic year for wrestling. thanks you all for being supportive.

i just cant believe what happened, when i frist heard about it i was in shock and it was strange because i told my husband (who is a big wwe fan) i hope it was not a double murder/suicide and the next day we were hearing that it was. i am also thinking that maybe his wife and kid died by the food poisoning and that he was so distroit when benoit reliazed that they passed he put the bible near them and went to his weight room too hang himself. but i guess i am just grasping at straws. you were a great fighter benoit

Oh, good. I know I come across as a b, but in this case, I don't want to. All of you are such good people to care like you do. Chris was a lucky man to have such loyal and caring fans. I hope he knew it. All stars should be so lucky. I'm not a fan in any way, my husband is. He is still in shock.

I'm sure that steroids was involved in this one. I feel for his family, what a horrible thing to do to your wife and child.

Steroids are bad I remember the day "my Lyle Alzado died on his wedding night. I have to take pilss everyday. Not like my 80's I hate it and fight it. I watched Hogan when there was i bench at muscle beach. Things don't always have to turn out bad when there are choices. You are such a strong, funny guy it took me a while to understand ya. Maybe you couod do something good from this tragedy. I know you have the imagination and the ability. Years later all atletes who even played around with roids are paying the heavy price. Which is really sad for the families and the fans. dasvics I am stalkign you can ya see me? You go!

HI, I'M GEORGE ZIMMER, FOUNDER AND CEO OF THE MEN'S WEARHOUSE. ON MY RETURN FLIGHT HOME FROM MADRID ON HOLIDAY, I WAS AGHAST TO LEARN THAT THE AIRLINE PATRON SEATED IN FRONT OF ME HAD BECOME OVERLY INDULGENT IN THE COMPLIMENTARY SPIRITS OFFERED BY THE FLIGHT CREW. HIS UNRULY BEHAVIOR TOWARDS THE OTHER PASSENGERS WARRANTED A SWIFT AND RATHER UNSOLICITED EXERSIZE SESSION OF HIS VULNERABLE ANAL CAVITY. STANDING TO SPEAK HARSHLY TO THE MAN, MY WONDERFULLY WICKED WOMAN WOOING WONDER WIENER FELL TO THE FLOOR OF THE AIRCRAFT WITH A TERRIFFIC THUD FROM THE BERMUDA SHORTS THAT HAD SOMEHOW CONTAINED IT PREVIOUSLY. HIS SCREAMING PLEAS FOR MERCY AND FORGIVENESS ECHOED IN THE OTHERWISE SILENT CABIN, AND I SUSPECT THEY WILL RING FOREVER IN THE EARS OF THOSE WHO BORE WITNESS TO THE DRAMA AND FERVOR WITH WHICH MY GREATLY-GIRTHED GATLING GONADS PIERCED BOTH HIS HERSHEY HIGHWAY AND THE SANCTITY OF HIS VERY SOUL IN UNISON. UPON SATISFACTION OF MY LESSON HAVING BEEN TAUGHT, I RELEASED ONTO MY ADMIRING ONLOOKERS A TORRENTIAL TESTICULAR TSUNAMI THAT MADE UNWILLING MEMBERS OF THE MILE HIGH CLUB OUT OF EVERY PERSON ON BOARD FLIGHT 606 TO NEW YORK CITY. I GUARANTEE IT.

i am known by many names. the great one, the showstopper, the whole F'N show, the innovator of violence, the worlds most dangerous man, mr. monday night, the immortal, the icon, the legend, the man of a 1,000 holds, the crippler, and the list goes on. i believe i am the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. i'm greater the great, and quicker the quick. beat me if you can, survive if i let you. and that's the bottom line because sam said so!
