What if we were like Europe, it's a must in Europe to learn different languages just about every Country there speaks a different language.

 

What if we went to war with our neighboring states because of border lines or religion.

 

What if we always have bombs going off in our back yards. military walking down our streets with M-16's

 

What if we didn't have freedom of choice

 

What if we didn't have freedom of speech

 

What if we didn't have freedom of religion

 

What if we didn't have freedom of press

 

What if all you thought about was going to America for freedom..

 

The people I work for fled Germany because of hitler, I heard their story of how they had to go from house to house, to hide. making their way to America.

They hire a lot of Serbians, and I hear about their Country, I wouldn't even want to visit there.

These immigrants speak English because they wanted to come to America, not one of them learned spanish (I asked them) they said why would we learn spanish, America speaks English.

Yes, and since we do live in America...why should we have an elist like Senator Obama telling us that we should learn more than one language?

I don't have a problem learning any other language, It's how he worded it. We shouldn't worry about Immigrants learning English, We need to teach our children spanish, these are his words, Now if you travel and you go to a latin Country you should know spanish, Now if I go to europe what should I learn!!! french, Italian,Greek,German,you should know all of the languages over there if you are going there.

Let's see:

What if we went to war with our neighboring states because of border lines or religion.

We unnecessarily invaded and occupied a foreign country based on false information. Even after wwe discovered that information was wrong, we still refused to leave. And that foreign country happens to be a Muslim country.

What if we didn't have freedom of speech

A vile, criminal, abortion of the Constitution known as the Patriot Act was forced through Congress days after 911. This abuse ofpower was passed without even being read by the people that passed it. Now the government has gestapo-like powers to spy on citizens and suspend Habeas Corpus.

What if we didn't have freedom of religion

We still have that? Coulda fooled me. It seems the Christians have stepped up and unofficially declared themselves the "official religion of the US'. That's the way they act at the holidays when they want only their holiday talked about in December. Or when they want THEIR doctrine taught in schools instead of scientific facts. Or whwn they want THEIR Christian opinions on abortion and gay marriage to be official law.

If you believe we don't have these freedoms you are walking through life with blinders on.

and if we didn't have this freedom you and I would not be able to post this stuff, did you watch the news on China and the internet, they can't post anything until their government reads it first.
at least we can post what we write, but our government may show up on your door steps the next day....

America. I like it here. I complin like everyone else but I have seen what it is like in another country. We have a lot of problems but it could be worse.

I took one year of spanish in high school- and I really enjoyed it- never thinking I would need it- but at the nursing home where I worked an elderly resident came to live there she was 107- and couldn't speak english- she was frigtened I'm sure- wouldn't you be? thank God for the 1 year in spanish- i could communicate some to her and comfort her. Learning another language or 2 or 3 widens ones experiences, and can add tremendous knowledge to your reading skills, like understanding the Bible more and deeper, it is a plus to know another language not a down fall.

I'm a Browns fan born and raised on the westside of Cleveland moved to Deerfield about 16 years ago. I used to work as an usher at the old stadium watching the Browns games and getting paid for it what a great job.PROUD REPUBLICAN, AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR ANYONE BASHING ANY AMERICAN PRESIDENT.
