As a 12 year Veteran of the U.S. Army, I want to take this time to thank my fellow brothers and sisters that bore the burden in our past and bare the burden in our present to preserve the freedom of our great country and remind them that Veterans day is OUR day. Many have died and many are disabled so that those who live their normal lives can do so. For one day my friends, forget about the negativity, forget about those that think we were (or are) "War Mongerers", or "Baby Killers" or even "Terrorists". Remember, because WE have fought, and because we fight, they have the FREEDOM to speak their minds. Because of those that have died, because of those that have left their families during holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, times they used to spend at home, to fight for the freedoms of ours and for the hopeful freedoms of others, many here go about their lives in a normal fashion. For one day, forget about the politics of war and of wars and be PROUD that we have given much of humanity freedom and democracy and have removed tyrants such as Hitler & Hussain. I say this because I am the son of a grandfather that fought in WW-1, A father that fought in WW-2 and a brother that spent 1 1/2 tours in Vietnam and because I have followed my American family tradition. I also say this because we deserve respect from our country and countrymen, especially from those that chose not to serve, also a freedom our service provided our citizens with. Please do not respond to this post to brow beat or pistol whip me with politics, I don't care and obviously this post was NOT intended for you!! To our fellow citizens that continue to support our brothers in arms, thank you. Please don't stop your support. You are needed for the morale of those fighting today, tomorrow and yesterday. May god continue to bless our troops fighting in harms way daily, our veterans and those who support us. And may god also continue to BLESS AMERICA!! Tonight and EVERY night, my AMERICAN flag flys high, in presentable condition and properly lit.......DOES YOURS??
After reading this post, you may call me a hate monger, a racist or maybe even a nazie...that's OK, AS AN AMERICAN you are intitled to your opinion as I am and am giving mine here. Over the past 10 years, all I have heard or read about was how my countrymen have been depriving other cultures of their "rights" . Stories of desecretation of the Quran, how ILLEGAL immigrants have rights here in MY country and giving ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS I.D. cards so they can collect Government Services (and that's all it comes down to) from TAX PAYING citizens of MY country are some of the things that are beginning to make my blood boil!!! My country owes ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS NOTHING!! My country owes the people of other countries that have immigrated here LEGALLY the right to make a better life for themselves and their families as MY country ALWAYS has!
Before I go on with my points, Let me give you a PERSONAL example of what I mean...
"My sister had visited my brother that lives on the other side of town a few weeks ago. He told her not to go shopping for food since they had so much food left over from his 60th birthday party and there was nowhere to put anymore. Not only did she go shopping for $120 worth of food, but came back, rearranged their pantry to the point where they could't find anything and rearranged their cabinets because she said it was disorganized. A verbal argument insued and some nasty things were said. She left and now, they are no longer speaking." Where did she get off visiting this place and expect that she should have things HER way? She was in HIS home,
Now, Here's My Points.....
1) DON'T ASK ME TO ASSIMULATE, YOU ASSUMILATE - When in Rome, Do as the Romans do! This is AMERICA. Don't expect me to learn another language, to have to "PRESS 1" for English when I call a business number ESPECIALLY A GOVERNMENT NUMBER or force my kids (in early learning years) to learn a language when they are still trying to get ENGLISH down so they can "ASSIMULATE". I think diversity is a good thing, at the AMERICANS choice, but get your "DUCKS IN A ROW" before you ask AMERICANS to conform!
2) IF YOUR ILLEGAL, YOU GET "NOTHING"(except deportation)- Don't you DARE come to AMERICA and feel the American people owe you ANYTHING! There are many immigrants before you that have fought for YEARS and WORKED to become citizens! They deserve to be here, NOT YOU!! What makes YOU think your special??? Do you think protests for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT RIGHTS (an oxy-moron) or flying the AMERICAN flag upside down at an AMERICAN school will make me go " OOOOOOH"? NOT SO MUCH!! The American Government should have rounded up ALL those protesters at the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT rants and checked them for green cards. Those NOT having proper I.D.----BYE-BYE!!! Try ILLEGALLY crossing the border to Mexico (not that any sane person would) and see what THEY do with you. You think they will "Welcome" you with open arms as you expect MY country to do??
3) IF YOU'VE BEEN HERE FOR 3 OR MORE YEARS AND CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH....YOUR WRONG!!!---- I had a friend that was married to a Woman from the Dominican Republic and after 13 years...STILL couldn't speak English well enough to communicate and would only move into areas where spanish was spoken. WHAT'S WRONG THERE!!! I went to Mexico on vacation many times in the past and I took the time to learn some of the language before I went AND I WAS JUST ON VACATION!!!!!
MY country is at WAR!! Wheather some want to accept it or not, WE ARE. People have and continue to try to kill my countrymen. There are Soldiers that fight and die everyday to protect the people of MY country and the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Having countries like Mexico and Canada with borders made of butter allow terrorists easy entry. If you can't understand that...tooo bad!! The safety and wellbeing of MY family WELL outweighs your "RIGHTS" . There are always AMERICANS that need work. Because you allow employers to screw you by paying you next to nothing and saying it's jobs "AMERICANS won't do" while corporations and farmers get rich is NO EXCUSE TO ME!! To me, They are traitors of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and should be jailed, or even better, SHOT!!! If you can work in a field, you can enlist yourself to protect the country that "treats you SOOO badly". OH, No, You Can't...YOUR ILLEGAL!! You can work on that though. Prove to me you want to be here instead of expecting me to prove to YOU why I want you here!!! Your old Country may be a disaster, but doing things ILLEGALLY is turning MY country into a disaster!
Bottom Line---"GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR GET OUT.....PERIOD"!!!!!
