One of the routes I like to take home winds through some tall oak trees, through a couple of orchards, down by a lake and then through some picturesque fields where horses and cows graze and then to my little road.

For some reason the orchards on Kingsway Road seem to call anyone who has an old couch to toss away, an old microwave, video recorder, bags of trash, unused insulation, chairs, toys...well, you get the idea.  I don't know who owns the orchards but I do know that they have to clean up after the thoughtless people that dump their trash there.

I wanted to write something witty and profound about this, but the truth is, I'm too disgusted.  There's nothing funny about throwing an old mattress into a field because you're too sorry to take it to the dump, put it out during the yearly "large refuse" collection times, or call someone to come and get it.  Well, here's a message from a country girl:  We Don't Want Your Trash!  And dumping is illegal.

Here's hoping the illegal dumpers all get caught!

I live on a nice lake with great view. I have put a lot of work and $$$ into my lake front. Problem is, a popular local road runs thru my great view. I pick up a daily dose of trash and I have just about had all I can take. There is a stretch of this road where the homes end and passes thru our not so famous power plant, then continues on for about a mile and a half. This is the undesignated used tire drop off.

I think I may have found a possible cause for this. I drive a used pickup. I buy used tires for it. The last two trips I made to replace a used tire, I was asked if I wanted the old tire. If I decide to keep the old useless tire I save a $3.00 disposal fee. Unlees I am mistaken, the disposal fee covers getting that tire to a recycling facility. I don't think the fee is is optional.

To make matters worse, A local group doing there "Keep America Beautiful" duties are piling these tires up for pick up. Who ever is suppose to pick them up.....they are still there....including the tires from the previous event.

I am on your side. I am going to start reporting and bugging authorities to get this under control.
