yellowdog's Blog

by yellowdog from Brandon

Last Post 1 day, 10 hours Ago

Our pal continues to post and not allow any comments (he will respond to other's however).

Question : do any of you take the time to read a post which will not allow your comment?

I do not read a single word when I see the comment button is missing.

We may be able to save our friend from his fruitless effort if nobody is reading.

It's a shame when someone is so unsure of their words that they either don't allow any responses or they delete people rather than debate.

But yes I do read these poor souls rantings - very often it's good for a laugh.

I stopped reading his blogs as soon as I realized he wouldn't let you reply to them. Way I see it is if he dosn't value my opinion why should I care about his? Waste of my time. Now I skip right over them.

My observation powers must be fading. I did not notice that there was no comment link on any of this persons blogs. Maybe it is just this person expressing an opinion and does not want any other comments or opinions added? Who knows.

YD - why doesn't he allow responses?

Look a some of my recent threads here & in mouseworld - there is no need for me to reply to some of the comments. Just throw out the bait and wait for the laughs to be provided. Does he not need more laughs in his life?

If I can't respond, I don't read it. What's the point?!

It seems odd that one would post a blog and not allow comments. What would be the use?

That does not seem as a blog to me. It is more like.....Dictation. Someone telling you what to think, or what they think, with no discussion permitted.

No, I don't bother to read them either.

I believe one that will not allow comments should not be allowed to comment either.

The disable comments button should work both ways, with no way to separate the two.
Disable the comments of others, and your comments are also disabled. That seems fair to me.

No comment is a bad comment unless it's done in meanness, is cruel or meant to hurt. Those sort of comments are unnecessary but, to be honest, the majority of comments posted are both informative and the honest thoughts of the blogger. So what if it states a different opinion from the post. No matter what it is, it stimulates discussion which is the whole point of blogging and gives an insight into what others are thinking. Closing the door on someone's opinion is not only rude and thoughtless but single-minded and non-progressive.

There is a blogger
Who is just a logger
One who vents
Beneath a tent
And ne'er
Anyone else
Does he hear

All his blogs
Are just a log
More like a diary
And always fiery
But ne'er
A thing
Others can hear

We cannot state
Or even rate
An opinion
Of our own
Opinin'
He ne'er
Can bare
To even hear

Our thoughts
Are rare
He cannot
Even spare
A moment to
Give us voice
Or a choice
To speak
Our thoughts

There is a blogger
No more than a logger
Who won't join
Our party
but calls
Us tardy
For logging
and spoiling
His blogging.
